Star Trek 4 is the working title for an American science fiction film in development at Paramount Pictures, based on the television series Star Trek by Gene Roddenberry. It is intended to be the fourteenth film in the Star Trek film franchise and the fourth installment in the reboot series. There have been several different iterations of the film in development since 2015.
Development of a new Star Trek film following Star Trek Beyond (2016) was revealed before the release of that film, with J. D. Payne and Patrick McKay writing. In December 2017, Quentin Tarantino pitched his own idea for a new Star Trek film to producer J. J. Abrams, and development began separately from the Beyond sequel. S. J. Clarkson was hired to direct the latter in April 2018, but negotiations with stars Chris Pine and Chris Hemsworth ended that August with the actors leaving the project. Noah Hawley was hired in November 2019 to write and direct a new version of the franchise. Tarantino revealed in January 2020 that he had decided not to direct his Star Trek film. Hawley's version was placed on hold that August to allow Paramount to decide on the best direction for the franchise. Kalinda Vazquez was set to write the script for a new film based on her own original idea in March 2021, while a separate script was developed by Lindsey Beer and Geneva Robertson-Dworet. Matt Shakman was hired to direct the latter film in July, and the script was being re-written by Josh Friedman and Cameron Squires in November. Negotiations for the return of Pine and the rest of the main cast from the reboot series began in February 2022. The film is scheduled for release on December 22, 2023.

The premise of a reunion of Kirk & his father through chaotic time fluctuations/anomalies, that ends to merging Trek back into the Prime timeline, still resonates greatly with me! Awesome idea! Even Borg &/or "Mirror Universe" infringement could be brought in to play as to causing this premise to be/play out.

The only way for a Kirk and his father reunion would work is if George Kirk is not just a star fleet officer but a time traveler who discovers the Enterprise crew in massive trouble and he must go unite the rest of star fleet to not just save the enterprise but the universes themselves so they can bring back all the surviving star trek cast members for a final send off adventure because this maybe the last time they can do it

It’s not going to happen. We keep seeing these posts stating that there is going to be another movie. None of the actors can get together and scripts cannot be agreed upon. Also with the sad death of the actor who plays the character Chekhov (sorry I do not know his real name). I am sad to say as a Star Trek fan I personally do not think there will be another movie.

Yet another inconclusive non-sense and a waste of time. Enough with the reboot. Kirk died saving Picard in Generations. Picard (the series) on its final season gave a beautiful send off to the Next Gen legacy, making fans eager for new adventures of even a newer NCC-1701. Strange New World also managed to bring what Discovery failed to bring. After what's going on in the series front, a new ST movie would be premature, if not bound to fail.

I think and this is only my mine, the Kelvin Timeline is fresh and very good Interpretation of the original story. Its fresh, funny and whith the new timeline a very good way to find new storys. Ok Khan (not Benedict himself) was a little bit special, but the thierd Film was awesome. I hope of the 4. And more Movies whith this Crew.

I’m all for a another Star Trek movie, I’m a Trekkie fan. I’d like to see another film made but in keeping to the original Star Trek timeline of exploration, adventures and development of characters in the storyline, but not the Marvel or DC universal mayhem. DC Fontana was one of the original Star Trek writers, youngsters need to view her work to learn and build upon their experiences in writing for the Star Trek timeline. Also, what happened to the pix of Cris Hemsworth and Gal Gadot being in it, where is that supposed to be taken from? Will they actually do a Star Trek episode?

What in the galaxy is this video on about? The first Kelvin movie was a success, yes, but the two sequels were abysmal failures, which is why another Kelven film hasn't been made after 7 years of waiting. While I like the cast very much, the deviations from Trek mainstream canon infuriated long-time fans. The Kelvin timeline needs to fade away. and be forgotten. It should never have been made in the first place. The Prime timeline is the only REAL Star Trek.

Lone Ranger will be a transsexual, Tonto will be a pygmy, they'll ride goats instead of horses, and silver bullets will be replaced with much friendlier marshmallows. It's not upending what the Lone Ranger has been established as, it's just "fresh and new". RIP, Star Trek. You had an incredible run.
