It made no sense that Troi did the launch countdown. There are even a couple of people in the background looking at each other saying, 'who's that? I thought I was going to do the countdown, Cochrane promised'. Sirtis complained that she didn't have enough lines so Frakes just said, 'Well, i know you can count, but can you do it backwards? You practice tonight and we will rehearse it tomorrow'. She needed a few takes and a bit of editing but she got there.

Never understood why machine guns were not standard issue for everytime the borg turned up after this film. Does the Federation learn nothing?

The movie really aged well.

The one frustrating thing about the movie is that it starts the trend of giving Stewart a new female lead instead of letting Crusher have a chance to perform her vital role of "person Picard might finally get around to dating one day." It's a far, far bigger problem in Insurrection, of course.

28 years later Frakes is still one of the most in demand Trek directors and is, in his own words, firmly in "the rotation". That should say a lot right there.

This is, hands down, my favourite Star Trek movie. I can happily watch it over and over. There’s so many great moments in it. “I’m a Doctor not a door stop” 👍🏻

This movie was my first movie date with the woman I married. We both greatly enjoyed it but I remember laughing a lot at the over-the-top silly bits that any such movie must have (mostly the Borg Queen putting the moves on Data), and she was worried that I was expressing contempt for the film. Nothing of the sort. I think this may actually be the best Star Trek movie, period. Not the most thoughtful or profound, but the most entertaining. And none of the other movies with the Star Trek: TNG cast are even good.

Why would you replace Steppenwolf's Magic Carpet Ride with the Final Countdown? Hearing it in the cinema made me grin from cheek to cheek.

Such a great film for the TNG crew. It's a shame the follow-ups basically put an end to the film franchise. I have always loved Alfre Woodard, but it would have made so much more sense for Picard to be confessing all those feelings to Beverly! Poor Gates McFadden, always stuck in scripts with nothing substantial for Crusher to do.

Alice Krige also puts in a really impressive turn as 'The Witch' in 2020's *Gretel & Hansel* (By the Guy who made *The Blackcoats Daughter* : Oz Perkins - son of Anthony, of Psycho fame) - Which was a surprisingly effective reimagining of that old candied chestnut, Hansel & Gretel.

GENERATIONS and INSURRECTION are basic-karen tv scripts done big. NEMESIS is a movie made with Star Trek actors, by people who have never watched Star Trek. FIRST CONTACT seems to be the only real "cinematic" outing for TNG.

I hate new star trek, but i love 90s star trek

I don't understand the love for this movie; it's a lot less messy than the dumpsterfire of generations, but there's lots of "off" bits about this movie. Picard is really wierd in this movie (actually, in all the TNG movies) and the whole tone is off (you can have different tones, but this strikes me closer to JJ-trek). The abundance of blue-eyed action men is also jarring and the prime directive is thrown out the window for no reason.

Don’t like Star Trek; love Stam Fine.
