I personally love that, contrary to the portrayal in most media, she isn't ashamed of who she is now, but actively enjoys and owns it. In most other series or movies, whenever someone leaves and is accused of being less like they were before, they become flustered, or try an dpretend they're still exactly the same as when they left. Instead, Tendi's proud and happy with "being soft", and knows she's got absolutely nothing to prove.

I do like how they establish this murder bug drinking game with no verbal explanation. Both know how to play, and you can guess the majority of the rules as you go along.
@justAguyDs5 күн бұрын
Yo actually.
@hfar_in_the_sky8 ай бұрын
One interesting little detail is that it doesn't seem to matter in which order you place your shot glass, since Tendi and the bar owner use different hands. But if you complete the three spaces that closest to your free hand, you then need to complete the other three spaces on the opposite side, which would take a second longer. And one second can mean a lot when dealing with a highly aggressive and venomous murder bug. On top of that, if you completed the near row first you have to do the "cross over" row while tipsy, adding an extra layer of difficulty. There are two possibilities here. One is that you HAVE to do the shots in a certain order regardless due to the rules of the game. Or, and this is my personal favorite take, you COULD actually do the cross over row first while you're sober, which would be the logical move. But in Orion culture this is consider a "bitch ass move" so players don't do it to prove they aren't a punk

Mariner asks how Tendi’s good at the murder bug game, but I thought it looked considerably simple. Guess it’s a matter of handling the liquor
@HawkoftheNorth9 ай бұрын
well, no one even touches a glass until the murderbug flashes its hood. in between that and its bite, the player has to grab the shot, down it, and place the empty glass face-down on a very specific spot. to say nothing of the pure nerves of staying there while the murderbug is going in for the murderbite. simple, yes, but not something you're likely going to be doing smoothly, cleanly, and without flinching your first time.
