Yeah, Zero's estimate of its crew accommodations was about 22, so roughly Bird-of-Prey sized. Even the Defiant ran with a crew of around 50.

Why would Starfleet pack that many ships into that small of an area. They’d hit each other before the protostar and has no heard of this crazy thing called a tractor beam?

Logically, the Dauntless was more than enough to stop the Protostar, but that way the Defiant and the Enterprise wouldn't have made their cameos
