I never understood why so many Voyager fans apparently disliked Neelix. Sure, he can be sort of goofy but he's certainly no Jar-Jar Binks.

I don't care what anyone thinks. I love Neelix. His kindness and gentle nature made me love him. He is the kind of friend we all could use.

I met Ethan Phillips last weekend at a convention and he was just the nicest fellow ever. I have so much more respect for Neelix now and he's easily one of my favorite Voyager characters. =)

I'm seeing all these comments saying "Neelix sucks" and I'm just sitting here like "....he's my favourite character...."

Neelix was complicated and had a big heart, he was the soul of the show. many of the best moments of the series were she he was there.

Neelix could be annoying but he had a heart of gold. People like that are rare in this world and often make life enjoyable, especially in retrospect.

Neelix was a good character. Sometimes I liked him, sometimes I didn't. I especially liked him and Tuvak's back and forths in later seasons.

Really? In voyager my all time favorite vulcan was Tuvok and the episodes with him and Neelix were the bests. I understand why people maybe dislike the voyager series, but i strongly believe that the characters were pretty good and i am happy to know that crew.

Neelix was a necessary part of the show. He gave a non-Federation viewpoint, and his growth as a character over the run of the show kept it both fresh and familiar as needed. Two thoughts I've had: - He and Dr. Phlox from _Enterprise_ would have gotten along well, I think. - I think it's funny that Ethan Phillips and René Auberjonois were both on the TV series _Benson_ together.

Neelix is one of my favorite characters in all of star trek. Most of the episodes centered around him are my favorites in voyager, most of them are really grim. He survived losing his lungs, genocide, apocalyptic evacuations, and actual death.

I absolutely loved Neelix and was sad when he left the ship in the final season.

Neelix was abusive when it came to Kes the way he tried to isolate her and his jealousy. That was the one thing that bothered me about that character.

Ah they left out the scene where he "poisoned" the thieving scoundrel that stole the doctor from the ship. I say poisoned, but he just gave the guy an extreme case of indigestion to get him to confess

My brother had an idea for a short story based on submarines and a bit of the thing horror thrown in about a talaxian booking transit on a freighter that only gets through by skirting Borg space. The captain knew they'd igore him but this time in the nebula they changed thier minds but couldn't find them due to silent running and playing cat and mouse There's a lot about drifting and some drama between the crew and such, but the ending is this talaxian trader shudders and then a voice pipes up "a fascinating story Verex. Sent shivers down my spine, but I have one about a star ship that came from across the galaxy... Her name was" voyager" it's revealed to be a campfire story set on the colony neelix set up

I totally HATED Neelix for the first 3-4 seasons. I'm so glad his character moved towards a friendlier and patient personality as opposed to the erratic and obnoxious buffoon he used to be.

Poor guy gave everything for his girlfriend, just for her to basically cheat on him on a new guy, then she comes back, just to really break up with him, just to go away again and return later as a bitter future self version... also everyone is always @aking fun of him even tho he is doing everything to make himself useful.. Guy deserved better...

Does not seem too representative of Neelix. Out of the episodes I heard from, I liked the one where he tries to rehabilitate the almost purely logical character who was braindamaged or something and they got along much better, but then Neelix had to let go of that relationship to bring back the original intelligent mind of that character. But the character still was changed by their experience with Neelix and had more of a sense of humor despite being the person they had always been before the incident. Neelix actually is pretty in control of himself despite many talking about him being like Jar Jar Binks or something.

I watched this and can honestly say that he was one of the most annoying characters ever. Voyager on the whole was a diabolical show that felt like it was created by a commitee. Against DS9, it falls apart and Neelix is the Jar-Jar for the Star Trek franchise whilst Voyager is the Phantom Menace of Star Trek. DS9 has not been bettered.

As a character he's like nails on a chalkboard to me. There's just something about him that makes me say, someone please just vaporize this goofy shit stain lol. Like literally everything about his character bugs me from the way he talks to how he moves to the ridiculous look of him. He can just be standing silently and I'm like dang, I sure hope a asteroid takes him out lol.
