The Jar Jar one makes complete sense, we see him as an idiot, but if you didn't watch him he's essentially war hero with extremely powerful allies in the Jedi, and someone who's experienced the outside world more than the other gungans, it makes complete sense

There's also the fact he was supposed to be the Phantom Menace, pulling the strings of what was going on. Plus, why not put someone into a position or power who you can then use as someone to give power back to you. Even Robot Chicken got this one right. And if you want the documentary on Episode I, and know the lore, Jar Jar's movements and speaking were intentional, to be a distraction for how powerful he is. No one that clumsy would have lived or been as successful as he was on the battlefield. It was all a ruse, and everyone fell for it, hook, line, and sinker.

The explanation for Kenobi's advanced aging in legends was Tattooine's two suns. The fact that the entire planet was glassed from space by the Rakatan's likely cooked off some of it's atmosphere too. That way it was left with more than 2x the amount of cosmic radiation. The same thing would happen to humans from Earth if they lived there. Not necessarily to that extent but it would at least be visually noticeable like it is between someone who has tanned for their whole life and someone who only gets exposure regularly

I believe I read/heard it just recently that Obi-Wan was 25 in Ep 1. 35 in ep 2. 45 in Kenobi and 57 in Ep 4. And as one of the commenters said, stress can cause hair to gray. I'm in my mid 40s now and not one single gray hair yet. My father was over 50 when his hair turned gray and it was quick... he shaved his head bald (from a bet and lost) and when his hair grew back in, a lot of gray/white came in. As for Anakin's force ghost reverting to his younger version. That makes sense. If you take into consideration that what if bringing balance to the force was to kill Palpatine in the first place and since Vader did that, in death he was redeemed by the Force. Anakin did "die" on Mustafar after all. please forgive if I misspelled anything

From the end of the Clone Wars series plus the "Ahsoka" novel we know that she spent probably the first few years evading the Empire. In the book she made contact with Bail Organa and agreed to work with him to undermine the Empire. So during the Original Trilogy she was working for the Alliance as a deep cover agent, going on missions of her own and coordinating those of Rebel cells such as the one on Lothal. My question is whether she and Obi-Wan knew each other was alive? Bail had contact with both of them during that time, but did he keep them secret from each other?

With Force speed one moment that novels have explained is that the Revenge of the Sith for example in the fight between Mace Windu and Palpatine in the novel is described to be viewed even from Anakin’s trained eyes to be two blurs moving around the room so fast that the only thing that could be made out of them is the colors of their lightsaber flying around super fast. So in that sense force speed still a thing however obviously in some cases like lightsaber fights it wouldn’t made for as good of an entertaining scene.
@onimi66616
@onimi66616 Жыл бұрын
I remember being really disappointed with the Windu/Palpatine fight precisely because of this -> reading the book made it seem so epic, with moves happening so quickly no one without the Force could even perceive them. What's more, the duel was the climax of Windu's then-canon arc of battling his inner darkness and harnessing that into a power that made him unequally powerful among the Jedi. And of course the movie could never convey all that - as a kid watching in the theater, I was crushed. As an adult who understands how movies are made without the need to nitpick every little things for views/clicks - yeah, it was an impossible scene to translate.

The biggest thing that did not make sense, Luke is "hidden" on Tattoine, with his uncle, given his father's last name, and told about how much of a hero his father was. People know that his dad was Annakin, but somehow Vader never finds him until he blows up his space station.
@cholizo

I believe they discussed this in the novel I, Jedi. Corran Horn remarks that it's possible that Yoda and Obi-Wan allowed Luke to grow up with the Skywalker name in order to allow him to redeem it. Corran also says its possible they used Luke as bait so Obi-Wan could confront Vader. Either way, the Empire wouldn't be aware of Luke's existence until he applied to the academy, and even then, only Palpatine and Tarken knew Anakin Skywalker was Darth Vader. An application to the Imperial Academy would be so far beneath their attention. Being how backwater of a world that Tatooine really was, it's pretty safe to imagine that Luke lived a fairly anonymous life.

The thing there is that Luke never actually sees the inquisitor! He is just told to hide because something dangerous is coming and then when he hears the fighting he runs off without ever looking back, when he is chased by the inquisitor he never actually sees her and if you remember he falls unconscious whilst falling trying to climb some rocks and that is when the inquisitor catches up to him and from Luke's point of view he just wakes up back at home having never seen her at all!

Like when Leia is pressed against Vader's chest on the Death Star and super sith can't sense her? I can answer most of those questions.. Lucas made it up as he went along and changed the story to fit what the audience and actors wanted. 10) Yeah 9) Yeah, this one is a really annoying issue 8) Not much of an issue 7) Jar Jar is the first Gungan in many years to have proper experience beyond the Gungan city, he's their best guy until more Gungans eventually step into the outside world and learn. 6) Han didn't "forget" the Jedi, he thought the Force wasn't real because in his eyes the Jedi wouldn't have been wiped out during Order 66 if they had such powers. 5) He wanted a duel, all of Grievous's kills weren't really all that. Obi-Wan was the first real opponent and the cyborg general wanted to face him. 4) It takes a physical toll, using it in the middle of a duel will leave you catching your breath for a few seconds and those seconds could easily cost you your life. It's a last resort move, not a normal technique. Why do you think they went into the vents after using the move? Also, dodging isn't Force Speed. 3) Man who spends his days wandering a desert with two suns ages fast, shocking. 2) It makes sense, he didn't use a young Anakin in the original version of ROTJ because he didn't wanna limit himself by finding someone who resembles the young Anakin he could've displayed in 1983. 1) Surprise twins are an occurrence in the real world (yes even with scans) and twins would have a very similar Force signature, it's not hard to believe that Anakin was reading both Luke's and Leia's Force signature as one lifeform.

@onimi66616

The "original plan" was to have Luke's sister be someone completely different and have the "original" sequels introduce her; Leia being Luke's sister was only written once RotJ was decided to be the "end" of the story because Lucas didn't want to make another Wars trilogy at the time. Padme's death was written some 20-odd years later when he was making the prequels - and he notoriously was more focused on the tech than the writing with those films, not caring much about canon-hiccups like this created from his barely-second-draft scripts from which they shot. I say all this as someone who loves Star Wars and what Lucas brought into this world but cannot stand when modern fans conflate the past with the present product. The was no "original plan" for things like this - they're just bumps in the road of filmmaking. On another note, the new Obi-Wan series isn't perfect (like, at all) but *does* give us a nice explanation for this particular hiccup -> ObiWan describes Leia's parents to her before departing, and memories at that young age can be (and are!) confused for something else. Basically, Leia's "memory" of her mother is a conflation of the impressions she got through the Force at-birth and the things told to her by Obi-Wan (and, presumably, Bail and Breha).

The final one about Anakin not sensing Padme's babies is because not only was he not thinking straight, the dark side had absorbed his mind, clouding his thoughts and stopping him from sensing the twins until he felt remorse when suiting up as Darth Vader. This one made more sense than the others.

Anakin died in ROTS when he turned into Vader. So that part of him became a force ghost. When Vader died in Return of the Jedi his spirit was visually represented as Anakin in his Jedi form. Also maybe Anakin felt the twins but he just didn’t say it because he had other things to think of. BUT one thing that I’ve thought about a lot is if Jedi can fly. Can’t they just stand on a piece of metal or something and lift it with the force?🤔

When Obi Wan gives Luke the light sabre for the first time, he says "Your father wanted you to have this when you were old enough, but your uncle wouldn't allow it", which suggests that Anakin knew he had a son. The only way round that would be along the lines of if he gave Obi Wan the light sabre after making a new one, and when asked what he was going to do with the old one, say "give it my son if I have one one day". But we don't see that. Even George was making it up as he went along with many plot holes, despite having a lot of the story written down.

@garyl5128
@garyl5128 Жыл бұрын
@@PlumbPitiful Those are assumptions that have to be made to try and make things fit but without any supporting evidence - and it's probably the only way around the plot holes George created. If we have to assume Kenobi is lying or twisting the truth 'from a certain point of view' a lot of the time to keep the truth from Luke, then then who knows what is supposed to have really happened and what is true and what we can ignore. It does open up things and make the history lest strict, Maybe what Obi Wan really meant to say was "Your father would have wanted you to have this when you were old enough, but your uncle probably wouldn't have allowed it" and that fixes that problem - if they can add McClunkey to Greedo, they can certainly add those two words to Obi Wan lol. When Lucas wrote Star Wars, he probably meant everything the characters were saying, as he hadn't yet made up the following movies or prequels in great detail (despite it being just a small part of a bigger story) or the intentions we saw in Empire - Luke and Leia weren't even brother and sister in SW for example and Vader wasn't his father, so he had to retcon or ignore various things to make those changes fit, especially when he wrote the prequels. If Lucas couldn't keep his own stories straight, it's no wonder other writers are having trouble too. Vader knew 'the force is strong with this one', but had no idea he was his son because he didn't even know he had a son at that point (maybe adding "He pilots like I did as a boy"). In Empire, when Palpatine mentions The Son of Skywalker, its all said in a matter of fact way and Vader doesn't react in the slightest, just mentions turning him to the dark side. I think most people would say something if they'd just discovered they had a son, especially with a woman he had loved dearly. We'd have to assume he'd found out by then (we'll never know where or when because we never see that, we only see what's said in Empire) but just like with the other things, we have been told one thing but have to assume something different if we're to make it fit and make any sense. It's all a bit of a mess.

for your number 10 the simple answer is "Not existing" I mean this is why Disney should have adapted the books rather then made new OCs Star Trek did the same thing with there prequels, completely broke continuity and raised too many questions. number 9 would also be solved by adapting the books 8: I like to think Ewoks are just super good at weaving fabric and making dresses 7. How does any one become a senator? I mean this is pretty accurate. When has a complete Incomstanti not become senator? 6. IDk but lots of people are in to rewriting history kind of like forgetting WWII happened or thin king Tittanic was fiction 5. Obiwon would have deflected 4. Short answer, Force Speed was invented in Super Empire Strikes Back for the SNES , long answer plot contrivance. Yoda never passed that power on and it was forgotten , why no one uses it in the prequels is a mystery. 3. people have theories but that's all it is, again Disney messing up book time lines and what not. 2. This one is on George, I get George's explanation but its unfair to the other actor. and its very confusing. 1. IDK How do babies work? things that always bugged me 1. Why do Ewoks have "Magic"? 2. Why did episodes 7-9 not only ignore books but also TV shows , video games, and TV movies 3. Why doesn't Luke use more Force powers in RotJ? 4. How did Anakin's Lightsaber survive? 5. What happened to 3PO's red arm? 6. Why didn't 7,8,9 use Y-Wings? 7. Why didn't x-wings fight in the battle of Hoth? 8. What happened to R2's jets? 9. Why didn't Finn and Rose use a legal parking space? 10. why did the Galaxy refuse to help the resistance sooner? Heck how did the New Republic fall and give rise to the 1st order?

Germany went to war with us twice in a row after all. but then we also went to war with Vietnam and the then latter with the Middle East. An other fun idea would be to have entered a cold war with the Empire. Still you would think that more Storm Troopers or TIE fighters would be in the resistance or maybe the 1st Order would have a few ex-Rebellion members or X-Wings. other options, we could have brought in the Yuuzhan Vong or made up a brand new group.

Vader would not know Leia was his daughter unless he saw it in her mind the way he saw it in Luke's mind years later. He was telepathic, not psychic. But she didn't know it herself so their was no way he could know. At the most he might sense she was strong with the Force but he wouldn't know why. As for Luke over Yavin; Vader didn't necessarily sense Luke but rather he just commented that "the force is strong with this one" because Luke kept evading his attempts to shoot him. If he did sense him though it would be because at that point Luke was already in training to be a Jedi and was actively using the force to Pilot his X-Wing. Plus the spirit of Obi-Wan was hanging around too so that had to make it make a little bit of a Force Ripple that Vader might have picked up on

Not sure if current canon explains it, but Legends explained it as a side effect of battle meditation. Supposedly the Emperor was using his connection to the force to amp up his fleet officers' reaction times and coordination. Of course, when you factor in that he was dealing with the Luke and Vader stuff at the same time, it gets a bit challenged. We know he was good with the Force, but was he good enough to simultaneously focus on the battle outside AND be an active spectator/participant during the Vader-Luke showdown?

Anakin didn't know about the twins because as stated by Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin was supposed to bring balance to the force. He brought balance to the force through Padme. The force then protected Luke and Leia so that way nobody could find them. That is why heavy force-users like Yoda, wouldn't know. The shielding of Luke and Leia against the dark side, was so strong that even Wailea was aboard Darth Vader's ship, Darth Vader had no idea who Leia was. During the final scene of episode 4, Darth Vader was trying to figure out why the force was strong with that particular Target, that Target being Luke Skywalker. 8:00 This one should actually be kinda self-explanatory. Imagine how stressful the events Obi-Wan witnessed were to him. Imagine how traumatized he would be to see what he saw and experience what he experienced. Look at US Presidents before and after their term(s). Most look like they've aged nearly 20 years in just 4-8 from the stress. It stands to reason that Obi-Wan, especially considering the fact the remaining light-side users mostly went into hiding, that he was mostly alone and traumatized by his experiences. It's also entirely possible that he used the Force, or even other means, to artificially age his appearance to better conceal his identity. After all, he did become known as Ben Kenobi.

Replacing Sebastian with Hayden makes sense. Anakin’s body never got the chance to grow old. He was dismembered and burnt in his young adulthood. His body hair was burnt away. His limbs are all gone. If a force ghost represents your body at death, then Anakin would have been just a burnt floating stump. I like the idea that a force ghost represents a force-user when they are upon death, at peace and happy. Obi-Wan was at peace when he died. His surrender to Vader showed it. Yoda was at peace when he died. He told Luke the truth about his lineage. Anakin was at peace and happy when Padme told him he was about to be a father. He says this in Revenge of the Sith. His facial expression and ear to ear smile about learning that he was going to be a dad was the best thing he ever heard in his life. Up until that point, his whole life was conflict. Being a father was a step towards loving something wholly. This is why Anakin’s force ghost looks like Hayden and not Sebastian. The moment Anakin found out he was going to be a dad was his at-peace happy moment.
