Honestly EA deserves 100% to lose the Star-Wars license. They should do what Marvel is doing with their characters letting a number of different developers and publishers taking at shot making games around. That would allow more Star Wars games to be released and not have it be stuck with just one.

Basically, just stick to the Battlefront duology made by Pandemic Studios; they're much better than the EA Battlefront games, and - being available on Steam for $9.99 each - are much cheaper as well.

I don't know how true this is but I had heard rumors that EA intentionally made the campaign of BF2 bad so they could push their "No single player" narrative.

The fact that Inferno Squad aren't already on Endor in the beginning is weird, they're some of the EMpire's best, right? You know, the guys Old Palpy specifically told Luke were already on Endor to defend the shield generator?

Republic Commando will always be my favorite Star Wars game and on my list of Top 10 shooters period. Excellent review sir, as always. Nice breakdown of the single player and controversies as well as accurate description of 90% of multiplayer-focused games. P.S There was going to be a sequel to Republic Commando; Imperial Commando which never made it past concept stages; truly depressing considering the soldier stuff in Star Wars is what I REALLY dig and IMO, need some more games; seeing the conflict from the eyes of a regular guy with a rifle.

For those who have Xbox 360s and Xbox Ones (Maybe, I am not sure if these games are on Xbox One yet), a handful of old Star Wars games were recently put on the digital storefront, including the original Battlefront games.

Got this game for free off of the Epic Games Store a while back (cause why not, it's free) and for the price I got it for, I found it to be quite fun actually, and it's certainly gotten a lot better over the years, even if the player base is pretty small these days. It's sucks that the campaign is garbage though.

This game was also a waste of talent. Hask was played by Paul Blackthorne, aka Quentin Lance from Arrow and younger Luke was voiced by Matthew Mercer, aka Cassidy from Overwatch. Mercer did a good job as Luke imo, he sounds almost just like him, but it's just a shame he wasn't in it for longer.

Had to come back and watch this one again, I think you have one of the best reviews for this horseshit excuse of a Star Wars game. Good job :) As for your stance on online multiplayer, I get it. Online just doesn't click with everybody, I was the same way too until I started playing Halo's multiplayer with some good friends of mine on Xbox Live and I've liked it ever since. I just liked the idea of playing with actual people instead of A.I. and making new friends all across the globe and meeting cool people I wouldn't have otherwise. I don't play much of PvP content these days, I get overly competitive sometimes and then it becomes unfun for everybody. I much more prefer co-op experiences like getting a team together and doing a raid in an MMO. I'm still very much a single-player gamer and think it's despicable that companies like EA want to try and force single-player into extinction.

Let's all hope the whole gambling lootbox thing actually becomes ILLEGAL, give a big FU to EA and all the other greedy game companies.

There have been rumors that Disney has given up on EA and wants to try letting other developers have a shot, but sadly their first picks seem to be Ubisoft and Activision. I've looked at the track record the Battlefield games and it's pretty clear that Dice either isn't good at telling a single player story, doesn't care, or both. Hell some of the Battlefield games don't even have campaign modes. I haven't read the Aftermath trilogy but things like Operation Cinder don't make it sound very good. Right now it only strikes me as a rushed book series to topple the Empire just to set up the new trilogy.

Well, the flying missions took me a bit back to rogue squadron 1 & 2... Or perhaps it was just my brain that made me think it was the case.

So, the game advertises as a story where you play as the Empire... and a third of the way through, the character defects to the Rebels and it becomes another generic, cookie-cutter, dime a dozen Rebel's Rock, Empire Sucks story. So, why hasn't EA been sued for false advertising yet? More to the point, wouldn't this have been a GREAT time to depict people in the Empire as more morally grey? Show that not everything in the Empire is pure evil, but that many of them genuinely think what they're doing is right, and they legitimately don't understand why the Rebels are fighting them? Or at the very least, they don't know just how cruel the Empire is? Wouldn't that have been an amazing story?

If I'm remembering right, the Resurrection DLC and LEGO Force Awakens contradict themselves when it comes to the whole "Force Awakens prequel" shtick. Specifically, how Kylo Ren discovers Lor San Tekka's village. Great continuity.

Great review as usual, you ripped this game a new asshole better than Angry Joe did, and without having to pay for that privilege. Unrelated question: would you ever consider doing a review of Knack 2? I know you hated the original, we all did, but the second is actually fairly good. Not the greatest thing ever but a solid 7.5/10 in my book. If not, I understand, you do seem to have a fairly large backlog if your Space Camp video is anything to go by.

i bought the game, full of its DLC, and honestly, i wish i could have gotten it on PC instead of PS4, PC is much better for playing ANY Person Shooters (or APS for short #TM) though i will admit, i like some of the classes and weapons, (one weapon comes right out of the 2 SW games i loved) and some of them have enough variety to let me play more then one way with a class, though personally my fave battlefront games are renegade and elite squadrons for the psp (especially elite for giving you melee attacks, not just weapons) this is an ok game for me, i dont love it i dont hate it, its just something to play sometimes

The funny thing is, even after they removed the microtransactions, you can still get lv.4 cards if you buy the deluxe edition of the game. So even without the microtransactions the game still is pay to win.
