You have the voice of a professional storyteller , an intriguing voice that draws the unwary ever deeper under your control like the Pied piper of Hamlin, and though I have never followed anyone before, you now have a follower more. I salute you. May you tell us many many more stories, and may the force be with you !

Kevin J Andersons Tales of the Jedi material was awesome. Loved the stuff with the Krath, and it was cool reading the stuff as it came out in an era when this epoch of history was relatively unexplored. I was ten or so when Dark Empire came out in 92 and it was just awesome to get this material bc for many the Krath and other Darksider societies just added another layer to the Sith.

Good video :) i havent read lot of star wars comics so good that you make these videos, they give lot of good information. “Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.” i think that would fits to how Anakin became Darth Vader or how most fall to the darkside. I dont really think sith should be called monsters or pure evil (little off topic ) because without dark there wouldnt be light and other way around .
@GreyJedi9110 жыл бұрын
I didn't necessarily equate the term "Sith" with monster; it's just part of the quote. I simply thought that moment from ROTJ meshed with the meaning of the quote. To an extent I agree with your overall point.

Could you do the story of Abeloth if you know it? Or perhaps about the Yuuzhan Vong? Those would be VERY interesting :)

I tend to focus more on the EU from the Old Republic era up through the Clone Wars. I'm not sure what will be affected by Episode VII's release so I'm keeping my distance. I never really connected with the Fate of the Jedi series very much, but I could look into doing something based on the Yuuzhon Vong or something. I'm just not sure how long some of those stories have before they get a ret-con.

Might I suggest a character profile on Dass Jennir, he is an extremely interesting jedi that represents all the jedi not connected with the main characters of the prequel era. I've have always advocated the production of more stories about jedi fleeing the empire during the great purge and Dass Jennir is the epitome of that kind of story. Dass Jennir also offers a certain appeal for those of us that are more interested in a realistic approach to the abilities of the jedi and not the typical God like abilities shown by the main Characters.

1)Darth Sidious vs Abeloth... 2)The entire Lost Tribe of the Sith vs Darth Kryat's entire One Sith 3)Darth Bane vs Grand Lord Darish Vol 4)Darth Sidious vs a resurrected Darth Kryat 5)Darth Chratis vs Darth Nihl 6)Malgus vs Darth Strife (change to Darth Wyyrlock III)
@TinyTorah10 жыл бұрын
I like numbers 1 and 3, but the others are kind of easy. 2) Depends on what you mean by Krayt's One Sith. Do you mean his entire empire, or do you merely mean the Sith under his command? If the latter, then I'd go with the Lost Tribe of the Sith. 4) Sidious would win. He's canonically the most powerful Sith lord. 5) We don't know enough about Chratis, however he was struck down by his apprentice, and she wasn't anyone of much note, so I'd go with Darth Nihl. 6) Malgus would win. It would be a good fight, but when you compare what each has done and is able to do, Malgus would be the clear victor.
@GreyJedi9110 жыл бұрын
TinyTorah Really? You don't think the first one is skewed at all?
@braddavis437710 жыл бұрын
TinyTorah Tks for the reply! Yea #1 is interesting seeing Sidious face a true threat like Abeloth. It took both the Jedi and the Lost Tribe to take her down and on the other hand as everyone says and rightly so Sidious is THE most powerful Sith Lord ever, so how would he stand against an force entity like Abeloth? As for #2, there are two factions of Sith that both found a way to thrive and function as a group with out killing themselves off, so I would like to see when comparing the philosophy and total powers and abilities, which order (not the leaders but the members) has a better understanding and affinity with the force. Which leads me to #3, It would be interesting to learn what Bane would think of an entire planet of Sith who survived for millenia (though we know what he thought of the One Sith), Of course BAne would try to destroy them with a thought bomb but I wonder, if looking at the Lost Tribe if Bane would give a thought to amend his rule of two... so comparing the two leaders of two opposing views of the force would perhaps do it justice. You're right about 4 though, it was late and I could not think of anything better at the time #5...Technically Chratis was killed by a planets worth of droids, his apprentices just sicked them on him, but I was wondering if there was enough material on him to extrapolate some sort of bio on him. Nihl is one of my fav One Sith characters and he took over the order after Kryat, so I would differently like to see something on him as for #6 you're right again. A better choice for Malgus would be Darth Wyyrlok III both sought to reform their order or at least thought there was something wrong with their masters, both were ambitious, cunning, and power hungry. So yea I would change 6 to Malgus vs Wyyrlok III. Again tks for the comment!

I agree that Lucian was a very interesting and well written character, but his journey sums up my personal feelings on the Knights of the Old Republic comic series as a whole, in that it was a gigantic wast of time and opportunity. Since the games became such a huge critical and financial success I was happy they were doing a comic series to explore that era and the stories of the multitude of characters I fell in love with, especially those in KOTOR II who suffered from much of the story content being cut. I stuck with the comic at the beginning, wanting to learn how Zayne Carrick's journey would tie into the greater story of the mandalorian war which lead up to the games, but it soon became clear that wasn't going to happen. The war was always just a backdrop for the series and even though characters like Carth Onasi, Saul Karath, Malak, (which we learned why he changed his name and shaved his head.....as if that was important) made cameo appearances from time to time, they always just played second fiddle to Zayne and his crew and always felt more like fanservice than a genuine attempt to explore the characters. What really made me pull the hair out of my head is that later on we are given a random flashback of how Revan got his mask, something fans would actually care about and want to know and could have been made into an entire story was completely irrelevant to the main story of Zayne and the comic. What happened with Lucian in the end was also frustrating, as it was more than hinted it at Lucian would become Darth Sion, Haazen flat out called him that and afterword Lucian thinks to himself that he might become the *Lord of Pain* after all, which was Sion actual title along with Darth Nihilus being the *Lord of Hunger* etc. But did we get any confirmation or follow up? No. I not saying that the comic series was badly written, or the characters which it does follow uninteresting, but if they were going to make a series based off of KOTOR then that is what I wanted to read and learn about, not just have it be fanservice. Sorry for the rant.
@GreyJedi9110 жыл бұрын
I can sympathize to degree, but ultimately, I do like that some of the mystery behind the Mandalorian Wars is maintained. For me, this was a welcome change of pace. What you describe would be a little like expecting every story based on the CW to center around Anakin and Obi-wan. For me it was nice to see guys like Vrook, Alek, Vandar or even the Hidden Beks before we met them in the game. If everything had been buttoned up so nicely with Sion being Lucien, it would have seemed as contrived as Yoda knowing Chewbacca for some reason. It just would have felt a little too convenient for me and taken away from the mystique of Sion's character. In addition, very few stories end on a happy note when you think about it. While Lucien's end is bittersweet, at least he had a new goal to work for. He didn't die, fall to the dark side, or lose everything he'd built like most every other character we get to know. I agree, that this was a waste of time for anyone who was looking to a prequel to Revan's story. But since it's not that, it's my among my favorite series of SW comics outside of the film era.
@Darthpsychonis10 жыл бұрын
GreyJedi91 Yeah, don't get me wrong as again I don't think Zayne's story was bad, but with the Star War universe as big as it is Zayne's journey could have been rewritten to fit into any era, and there was no real reason as to why it had to take place in KOTOR. That was how divorced the story of the comic was for me, and I felt like KOTOR's era and characters were being used as a commodity rather than and earnest effort to explore them. I wouldn't expect them to devote the entire series to Revan & Malak, but I would expect the events & characters of that time to have some importance, which I don't believe they did. (BTW I agree that consecrating on Anakin & Obi-wan all the time was one of the weakest elements of TCW) Though my thoughts being what they are I'd like to hear a different prospective, what were some of the things you enjoyed from the series?
@GreyJedi9110 жыл бұрын
Darthpsychonis There's no good way to really explain aside from just listing the various qualities I found appealing. I liked Zayne Carrick himself, as well as the spin they put on Jedi trying to avoid a possible future by taking matters into their own hands. I like the majority of the artwork, I thought the dialogue was mostly well written (better than Legacy anyway) and I thought that the time frame was important. You're right that the elements of the story could have been tweaked a bit, but the fact that the events of the story took place as a direct response to Exar Kun's actions put more weight behind his impact. I also thought it was a nice continuation. Even before the Knights of the Old Republic game(s) we all know and love, the terms Knights of the Old Republic had been used in comics from that age. I liked dealing with a different set of factions, politics, planets circumstances from the other stories. I also liked a good amount of the action from the stories. Raana Tey in particular was a pretty savage Jedi Consular. Demagol was a different take on the Mandalorian threat as well, and I kind of loved to hate him. I think it's just a case that I knew what to expect going in. I knew it wasn't going to be centered on Revan at all (which I doubt they could have really done without ruining the tabula rasa like appeal of the character...which eventually happened anyway) and so I was just along for the ride. I didn't think it would become a favorite of mine.
@Darthpsychonis10 жыл бұрын
GreyJedi91 I agree that I did love a lot of the art by Brian Ching, and the look and design of the characters and galaxy. One thing I would commend the comic on, is that it didn't try to be like Legacy series (which I did like) to be dark, dark, dark, dark. I feel like Legacy tried too hard to recapture the tone of the older films, and tried to build the universe and story around that tone. I think a lot of SW fans (including writers) forget that not all of SW is Empire Strikes Back. Since we've been talking about the series, I may go back and give the comic another shot on its own terms.
@GreyJedi9110 жыл бұрын
Darthpsychonis Sounds good, but like I said, I can sympathize with what you were saying earlier. If I'd thought this was going to be a direct prelude to the games and got this, I would not have been happy.

Wait................Before this one you did Darth Krayt, excluding of course the Darth Zanna, Assajj Ventress, Darth Talon battle, so does it mean that it's gonna be Darth Krayt vs Lucien Draay? Kind of a miss match don't you think?
@GreyJedi9110 жыл бұрын
I didn't talk about Darth Krayt, EvanNova95 did. I did talk about Darth Wyyrlok, but my character profiles don't have anything to do with my versus series. So no, I won't be doing Lucien Draay vs. Darth Krayt, and yes, I do think it would be mismatched. Odds are, nobody's going to guess what the match up will be. I happened to think Lucien was interesting enough to feature in a character profile as well as a versus video. They're unrelated projects though.
@MrJIR9310 жыл бұрын
GreyJedi91 Oh..........................Well that was embarrasing, still you're right the character is interesting, I personally liked both him and Zayne as they represent the more normal Jedi, also Draay gets more points than Zayne because he came back from the dark side, even though he wasn't an incredibly powerful Jedi or one of the most powerful of his time, he kinda represents that redemption can be found by anyone, no matter how big or small

It doesn't have anything to do with the video but is general grievous a full droid or some type of cyborg
@GreyJedi9110 жыл бұрын
Cyborg. General Grievous was once a Kaleesh warrior named Qymaen jai Sheelal who fought against a species known as the Huk on his home planet. After Grievous successfully brought the fight to the Huk species' homeworld, the Huk appealed to the Senate courts and the Jedi were dispatched to aid in the fight against the Kaleesh. After the war Grievous became an enforcer for the IBC (Intergalactic Banking Clan) for the benefit of his people. But he abandoned the contract he'd entered after learning that the Huk had once again moved against Kalee. As he prepared to return to the war, an angry San Hill, the chairman of the IBC, conspired with Count Dooku to have a bomb placed on Greivous' shuttle in order to assure his permanent servitude. The resulting explosion left Grievous with severe injuries, but he was reconstructed as a cyborg and trained in the arts of lightsaber combat by Count Dooku who blamed the Jedi for planting the bomb in order to prevent Grievous from seeking vengeance on Hill or any of the other CIS leaders.
