I just love this whole moment. Wookies PROBABLY don't do that. They are pretty peaceful normally. But Han is fucking with them, because he's Han. And Chewie goes along with it, because his best friend is Han. Guaranteed it's not the first time Han has done something like this.

The real genius of this is that the chess pieces resemble the best animation technology on film to date... Jason and the Argonauts. This scene hits a LOT differently after having seen both Solo: A Star Wars Story AND the "Book of Boba Fett" series. The former shows that this clip isn't the first time Chewbacca has lost at that board game while the latter shows another Wookie named "Krrsantan" actually doing the "ripping someone's arm out of their socket" thing.

I think this is the enhanced scene. I believe the original superimposed actual video of the chess pieces on the film so the "holograms" had horizontal lines as was typical of tv at the time. Seems like you can only get the updated versions of the movie these days.
