Frank Ippolito unveils another dream build! His Han Solo in Carbonite refrigerator is exactly the kind of brilliant idea that's not easy to execute. We walk through the build process and show how Frank sourced accurate parts from the Star Wars replica prop community and added awesome features like glowing lights!

+Prudator Well as you have noticed, they need someone who is experienced in Adam's business to fill the gaps in the program, as Adam doesn't have the time to make as many Videos as it needs. (atleast that's what I think) Adam still makes videos but rarely. So they got Frank a while ago and he does an amazing job. He is not the official replacement but let's be honest. He might be called something like that.

I remember Frank from being on the first episode of "Face Off" and they painted him as sort of the bad guy who eventually got voted out. I was happy to see him end up here, and hear he's got his own shop and crew.

Reality TV editing is insane. You can basically craft whatever character you want after filming a person for days at a time.

He painted him self as a bad guy. He acted overly cocky and didn't put in the effort necessary. He really turned it around the second time he was on the show. He knew it and apologized to the audience for his behavior.

For added depth you could set it up so that the lights in the panels run in the freezing (initial) pattern while the compressor is running, the holding (Cloud City) pattern when nothing else is happening, and the current pattern combined with the glow effect during the defrost cycle.

Love Frank's creativity, which I became a fan of when he was on _Face Off_ (R.I.P.). Such a great idea to implement the defrost glow that way, and it's amazing to see the silver glow red, duplicating the look of an optical in real life! Would've liked some non-timelapse detail on the riser design and construction, though - that looked impressively solid, which of course it would have to be to stably hold up (and allowing rolling) a full-size fridge.

Hi Frank just patch the line, a hobby shop will have a slightly smaller diameter brass tube to use on inside of pipe and just solder together bam fill her back up and roll with it! AWESOME JOB SIR! beautiful work as always! :) THANK YOU FOR SHARING ! I really like seeing you work!

When you opened that beer at the end it struck me how cool it would be to make Han Solo's mouth into a bottle opener.

Awesome. Even better would be one of those fridges with one long door (with the freezer door on the inside.) It would be cool to recess it part way into a hole in the man-made wall so that it would appear to have a more accurate depth. And people wouldn't even know it was a fridge until you opened it. Also it would be cool if, when you activate the glowing thaw cycle, it also played a sound file of the noise it made when Han was thawing in the movie.

Looks awesome! As an FYI, you can use a thermal gun to see where the refrigerant lines are in the fridge. I used this trick when drilling holes in my garage fridge!
