I love mine. I was one of the first to get one at $550. I know it's not perfect but never thought I'd have a pinball machine at all. Very good and lots of fun. Don't know about the tilt because I don't want to rock it to find out .

I’m in the same boat! I got mine at $550, and like I said in the review, it’s far from perfect, but I still love it. It’s a beautiful cab, it’s fun, it’s built sturdy, and honestly $550 was a steal in my book. The only way I’ll get rid of it is for the rumored v2, which is allegedly gonna have online leaderboards… Score chasing with other people is fun for me, so if that happens this year, I’ll be trading up to it! I also learned that I need to buy a stool. Cause my feet start to hurt if I’m doing a longer session.

Great job on the review. I wasn't aware that these pinball machines existed. The only 1Up machines that I've seen at Wal-Mart are the smallish upright arcade-style reproduction ones. I love playing pinball and these machines seem OK enough to consider, especially since I can't afford to buy an original Black Knight pinball machine that I used to play over and over when I was in high school. Thanks for the great review, Keto!

Thanks for watching the video :) I have one of A1UP’s arcades as well and love it! Fair warning on the pinball machines, it’s rumored their v2 is coming later this year! :) One day I’ll get a real pinball machine lol but for now I love this digital one. Thanks for the comment!

@@ketowolf You're very welcome! I will keep that in mind about v2, if I do get one of the A1UP pinball machines. I came very close to buying a very old all mechanical pinball machine several years ago. Unfortunately, just before I headed out to drive out of town to get it, the seller called and said that someone else had beat me to it. At least he had the decency to give me the call so I wouldn't waste my time and gas making the trip for nothing. My neighbors are probably happy that I didn't get it though. LOL!

Hey thanks for the kind words! :) I appreciate it. A few things to note, just in case! 1) There’s a rumor that the next wave of Arcade1Up Pinballs might release later this year which is alleged to have wifi (for updates and online leaderboards). 2) The prices for these machines have changed since I made this review. I purchased it at $550 and now they’re I think $700? I’m not sure. So just thought I’d make mention of that. Thanks for the feedback and for watching! I also appreciate the subscribe, but heads up, I’m not really a focused “channel.” This is just a personal KZfaq account and I just post random things across all my weird interests for fun. ;)

Wow, amazing awesome camera work and editing! Loved your approach to filming the review. Very impressed and good insights. I need to step up my phone camera reviews, lol. Also LOVED the graph comparison for costs and the comparison to AtGames Legends Pinball. Totally agree on all points about needing to spend hundreds more to get the best out of ALP which folks need to consider when figuring which vpin they want. It's a delicious cheeseburger for what it is. 😋
@ketowolf
@ketowolf 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching and for the feedback! There’s nothing wrong with phone camera reviews! Half the reason I wanted to make this video was for the video work, cause I find it fun to do! And yeah, I felt like the common “At Games vs A1UP comparison” I see aren’t usually all too fair. My own observation is people often say “AtGames is better because it can technically do more, so it’s better.” But I don’t think it’s that simple because everybody has different goals in mind. I feel like in reality they’re both good machines and comparing them on even playing fields felt unfair when they’re both trying to be different things. So I wanted to give my take and try to be more fair. And I felt like my “best cheeseburger” analogy was good, I was proud of that, lol, so thanks! ;) Anyways, thanks for all the feedback! The subscribe is appreciated but heads up, I’m not a “focused channel” :) This is just my personal KZfaq where I’ll post anything personal, from nerdy shit I like, to furry shit, to personal art projects, etc.

Thanks a lot for the kind words, for watching, and for appreciating the details! It was a fun video to make! And yeah, I have no regrets about the machine! I don’t have as much time to play it as much as I wish I had, but I’m still very happy to have it- it’s fun and beautiful. I actually want a stool for it because it can take awhile to beat high scores. On that same note, the v2 version of these machines are rumored to have online leaderboards. But nobody knows when that will come out… 1 year from now? 2? But that will be the only reason I’ll sell this machine- to get a version with online leaderboards. Because I think it’s a lot of fun to have scores to chase beyond my own!

Add vpinner 3.9, get like a hundred games, and ull raise the value of that by another 500 dollars. I never looked back, arcade1up> at games in modding community alone. Theres endless things u can do, u can even move the solenoids down and fix them closer to the flippers for more impact. U can decase the pcb, add cooling and enable 1080p mode with vpinner 3.9 mod. You can upgrade the playfield screen to 32 inches with geekworm2 and leave the pcb in tact without adding a PC. You can expand the DMD screen with a 3d printed frame. You can download zen pinball tables and get dmd support for all zenpinball games with vpinner3.9, you can add “pinball arcade” tables and ull have everything atgames comes with stock, and so much more. Btw the vpinner mod also has solenoid support for zen pinball, and in the near future theres talk that version 4 will have solenoid and dmd support for pinball arcade.

I legit can not wait for my AFM. I have been playing FX3 on my old PC in 4k on a 55 inch screen, and the 720p resolutions I'm about to get does not deter me in the slightest. I had to have the gorgeous cabinet, and the physical feel of flippers and plunger. Also can't wait for modding opportunities and a1up pushing out updates or upgrades in the future. I am legit too excited
@ketowolf

Yeah, the 720p graphics don't deter me either. Would I PREFER 1080p? Of course. But to reiterate what I've said in my review, this machine's sum is greater than its parts, and I'm cool with that. :) It's beautiful, the games are fun, the controls are nicer than a console control, haptics, etc. I'm fine without wifi on these wave1 machines, but I AM crossing my fingers that wave 2 has wifi for online leaderboards! :) My goal is to get the William's tables for wave 2! Glad to hear you're getting your machine soon! Hope it gets there soon!

The nudge doesn't seem to work on mine either, but I've never been one to rough-up machines while I'm playing them anyway, and I'm even less inclined to do so on a table that I own. I honestly probably wouldn't have ever noticed the flipper issue with Masters of the Force, but I still appreciate you pointing it out. Keeps me from stumbling on it accidentally and panicking, thinking I broke something! Overall a great table, and I'm glad I picked one up!

Thanks for watching! :) Oh, does the same issue occur on your Masters of the Force too? I’m unsure if it’s a widespread issue or just my machine. And yeah, I agree, like I said in the review, despite the imperfection here and there… it’s not enough to get in the way of enjoying the machine! I love it. This is the best Arcade 1 up and must have for any Star Wars fan. I own a Legend Ultimate and I enjoy it. But… It’s ugly and the Legend Pinball is ugly and too big if you’re limited on space. My family has spent hours on this and you hit it when you said, “ Push the power button and ready to play”. I was lucky to get mine at 549.99 and the recent price hike to 849.99 I think is still worth it. Call me crazy at that price point but with the music and enjoyment it brings to my family. That my friends is priceless.

they should come out with a pro version of all their tables. Larger size playing screen and a full-screen tv for the backboard. I got to play this table at a local retro video game store in Largo, Florida. they almost all the 1up arcade machines and this pinball machine for you to try out and yes they do sell them also. Something more stores should do so you can get a feel for it. I wear glasses and the machine seems very washed out to me and blurry on the edges, sadly you can't make any changes to the screen size to fix that. If they can come out with a pro version with a larger screen I might buy one

Hello! I still love having this machine. :) I found one small new possible bug but I’m not sure. In “A New Hope,” on scene 6, when I try to destroy the last tie fighter, I’m not sure if it’s bugged but it won’t seem to blow up to continue that mission. I might try a factory reset but I don’t want to clear my scores. I bought this machine for $550 before tax and I’m still happy with that purchase price all things considered. :) I’m not sure how much these sell for now, but I think they might be around $700+ at which point I think is a bit steep for it. Unless though… if you’re good with software tinkering, there’s a… uh… mod that adds more value to this machine and might a $700 pricetag more worth it. With some KZfaq or googling, I think you’ll see what I’m referring to :)

I think I’d enjoy PLAYING the ATGames pinball as a quick one-off at somebody’s house, but I don’t think I’d enjoy OWNING it for the reasons listed in my video. Everybody has different goals and desires, and the AtGames doesn’t fit mine. The video explains my reasoning. If you’re interested in why I chose A1UP’s pinball over AtGames, the last half of my video explains it once I start comparing it to AtGames.
@healtc5069
@healtc5069 3 жыл бұрын
@@ketowolf I know. But you kinda exaggerated the “issues” of connecting AOC to the atgames. It’s literally plug and play. Took me a whopping 15 min. And I’m using an 8 year old dell. I spent maybe another hundred dollars and got all the marvel and star wars tables. Which include those not included with Arcade1up. The visual difference between playing the same table on these two tables is staggering. Arcade1up really cheaped out on the monitor. Again, I owned both and for me this version of pinball by Arcade1up seems like a beta where atgames seems like a finished product. And now there virtually no price difference. New Arcade1up is $850. Not worth it at that price.

Well said. I have all three Arcade1Up machines plus the Legends Pinball. The Arcade1Up's look way better. The Legends Pinball plays way better. You are absolutely correct to play all the FX3 Steam games suddenly your costs went up. I have my Legends Pinball setup this way and this is my go to machine for all pinball. You can't beat the larger screen with better resolution. If you are like me and already have a PC and the Steam games library then you aren't out any additional cost. If not, I'd say you would end up north of the $1000 mark that you were giving the Legends all in price.
@ketowolf
@ketowolf 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching and commenting! :) Yeah, I can appreciate what the Legends Pinball has to offer even if it’s not for me. There’s room to enjoy both! I use an iMac, and I’m not even sure if all the software required to hook up a computer to a legends even works with mac! But for me, it’s not a big deal. I think a bigger and better screen is really cool! Like, I’d love to play fx3 on a bigger pinball machine with a fancy screen! But, having to have a pc tethered to my pinball machine is a deal breaker for me personally. I love the convenience of having a standalone machine. BUT, that’s just me and I absolutely recognize everyone is different and that’s totally cool :) I don’t like having a bunch of exterior cables and computer stuff, but for other people, that may not bother them. But luckily there’s options for everyone :) That’s why I said in my review that both machines are good, it just depends on what people want. Because I’ve seen people hate on the A1UP machine because they’re expecting it to be something that it’s not trying to be. I’m rambling. Thanks for watching!

Who wants more options! screw you legends!! we dont want your 1080 display with glass and a larger monitor.... Ill just play my 10 tables and never have the option to add more... yeah I'll show you! lol

The thing about options is… “having more options” only matters if those options are appealing to you. Like I said in my review, a larger 1080p display with 200+ game sounds good… but if the 200+ games aren’t appealing, then the big display is wasted and the 200+ games mean nothing to me. An endless supply of kale is not better than a bag of apples, since I don’t like kale but I love apples. I much rather have 10 games I enjoy on a beautiful cabinet on an adequate screen. :) But if you like the games on the Legends, more power to ya! There’s enough room for everybody to enjoy what they want. :)

@@ketowolf I'm actually playing star wars on my legends with nothing more than plugging in my nintendo switch. Get full rumble and 1080p with 19 tables... its all about options.. you might not need them but you should always have them. thanks for the video and review.. you do great work on presentation and style

@@kevgret I disagree, respectfully- giving users as many options as possible is not always the best choice. It depends on what your product is meant to be. I didn’t go too deep into that train of thought in the video but you have to know what you want your product to be. I have a switch too and I honestly love it. But if I had a Legends Pinball, in order to play games I like… I’d have to do all the setup required for it to even work, then every time I wanna play pinball, I have to make sure I have to fetch my switch, tether it to the pinball machine, and find a place to stow the switch. Then I’d be stuck with a cabinet that I think is hard to look at, taking up a lot of space in a room, cables and switch hanging off of it every time I wanna play it…. Or… for hundreds less, I can simply get a good looking cabinet with built-in games I already like. More options isn’t inherently better. Like I said in my review, it depends on what you want. Everybody has different needs and desires. :) It would be like saying an 88-key midi keyboard is inherently better than an upright piano just because a midi keyboard can have thousands of instruments installed on it over time and used with software. That doesn’t make the midi keyboard inherently better. If that were the case, nobody would own a real piano anymore and everybody would just own midi keyboards. They both have pros and cons, it just depends on what you want. Nobody with a piano is complains that they can’t install a trumpet instrument on their piano. Not everybody just wants as many options as they can get. The quality of the experience and how it fits your individual desires and needs is more important.

@@kevgret I didn’t realize you could plug in a switch. Are there videos on setting this up or more info on it?
@kevgret
@kevgret 3 жыл бұрын
@@davidvisser9447 All you need to do is plug in an HDMI from the switch to the legends pinball. Hit the button on the legends to change the ouput.. use -90 degress and boom... the switch is on the legends. When you load up zen pinball there will be an option to rotate the switch to vertical... do that and the tables will play in 1080p 60fps. You have to use the joycons but they have built in rumble. you can buy 3D printed holders which you can attach to the legends and will hold the joycons to the legends. They work great, are cheap, and feel good to use.

Zen physics make those at games tables look like a toy...no wonder hardcore pinball fans prefer the zen studios. I get why more casual fans would prefer the at games now... basically plug and play and they don't really care about looks or gameplay. Just youtube comments.

I think it’s less about one machine being more or less casual than the other. I think it’s more the type of gamer you are- and there’s no wrong answer, only preference. The AtGames machine is perfect for some people, and the Arcade1Up machine is perfect for other people. Just depends on who you are and what you want. :3 Thanks for watching the video!

This thing looks and plays so bad. The display and graphics are like 6/10. Build quality of the machine is a solid 8/10. Gameplay is 1/10. Couldn't feel any of the haptics either
