It's a death by a thousand cuts - no wifi, 720 resolution, jaggies, small screen, no nudge buttons, inability to control gamma/brightness/angle, DMD weirdness - it will likely be a frustrating game for anyone who's played these games on a PC or better vpin unit. Still gorgeous, and likely just fine for the family, serious pinball aficionados or gamers in general will start wondering if there's something better. I didn't originally think that these A1up vpins would be good for modding, but in retrospect it might be their main appeal to this community. Great video, as usual PDubs.

The best review I can give is this…. Ordered the Marvel cabinet way back in November It was delivered to me at the end of February. No notification, just dropped off on a Sunday and left outside the door on the sidewalk. This in the upper 9th ward of New Orleans…amazing it wasn’t stolen… Especially since Arcade1Up Marvel Pinball plastered all over the box… But I have to give credit where credit is due… Instructions were spot on for assembling, and if I can do it, anyone can. Personally, I love it. The variety of games, the game play, what’s not to love. Obviously, are there improvements that could have been done? Yes, But for the price, I’m more than satisfied with the product. Only thing left to consider is durability, and only time will answer that question. Moving on…left New Orleans to return to my house in NY State about a month ago… Just for the fun of it. I was checking on the Attack from Mars and Star Wars cabs… Saw that Walmart was a supplier for the Star Wars cab. They asked if I wanted to be notified when it was back in stock, so for the hell of it I said yes…. Literally, the next day, I was informed it was back in stock but that it couldn’t be shipped till May 1st (5 days later) with delivery by the 7th… So imagine my surprise when walking out the side door of my house at 11:30 in the morning In the middle of nowhere NY, and see the box sitting outside in the driveway. ON MAY 1st! As I type this, I’ve been playing the games for 10 days and I love them…. Again, durability will be a question, but for now, I’m very satisfied. If and when Arcade1Up offers a pro line of their pinball cabinets Along the lines of Doug Smiths (Cool Toys) mods on his Arcade1Up cab. I’ll be amongst the first in line to acquire one. Thanks for taking the time to read this book…lol👍🏻😎 BTW, excellent review, I agree with your assessment of the shortcomings, but agree, once playing the games, those shortcomings disappear in the enjoyment of the game play.

Thanks Pdubs... you solidified my decision to cancel my Attack from Mars machine from Best Buy! You saved me a cool $650:) To many problems with a these 1Up pinball machines. Inadequate accelerometers, jaggy 720p graphics and weak solenoids. The only thing that it does well is looks good:/ You can put lipstick on a pig but it's still a pig...great, honest review...thanks again!

My assessment of these is pretty much the same - fun but the screen is not great. Got to wonder what adding another $50-100 could have done...

When it’s all said and done will 1up fans willing to spend over 6k on all the tables that will eventually come out, 10 tables at a time then wait till 2.0 Attack from Mars then the cycle continues. Mel Kirk said they nailed it, not sure about that.

Glad you noted Iron Man on Both Sides. As a Captain America And Black Widow Fan she should have been included on the Captain American side and dropped Iron Man. I mean she pretty much has her own table on this machine. So Hint Hint to anyone out there that can make this happen ... I know real world problems right ? Great review Thumbs up

The art on the 1Ups look great. If it were a little cheaper in comparison to the ATGames I’d go for it.

Nice topper! I suppose, I could attach a Fresnel page magnifier in front of the tiny DMD. would be cool to find a large lens to overlay the play field with. Congrats on getting one. Really looks amazing!

We love ours, my wife plays it all the time now. There is no way I could have built something like this under $1500-$2000 Canadian. Some of the improvements I'd like to see is, the screen contrast adjust, DMD stretching option, volume up/down indicator like some of the other one. I also noticed the physical volume and the on-screen volume are independent of each other. The physical volume switch seems to increment in larger amounts like 10% each time, whereas the onscreen volume adjusts in smaller increments, at least that's how it sounds for me. Some of the older tables lose the 3D effect for me. Overal a fun machine.

Good review. Very balanced. I own both A1Up Marvel and Star Wars. Screen looks washed out on both. Camera angles seem better on the Star Wars and tables seem better on SW as well. I’m waiting for someone to make a reasonable 27 inch mod. Or an inline control board to adjust brightness/contrast like they did with the first gen A1Up pacman.

Looks really good even though the short comings. I'll probably wait for Back to the Future or to see what other ones are announced.

It’s a pass for me, 20 some inch play field is just a turn off.

Great video and review as always. Was able to play the floor sample at RC Wiley. It was so hard to walk away from! It’s just fun.

They can't just change the camera angle to fill the screen more. That would cut off the sides or change the aspect ratio so you end up with an oval ball. I dont know why they didn't just cover part of the DMD so that the opening was filled. I really enjoy Civil War lol. To each his own I guess.

They could add an extra revenue stream by allowing add on packs like at games. People will still buy other tables with different artwork to collect. Some people can’t get multiple tables just to play all the games. I also feel like the image quality was lowered to much to make it work on the 1up hardware. Even less quality then the mobile ports.

That is the best intro ever Pdubs!although I love the way my marvel cab looks and the interface is great but I find I play the ALP more because it looks that good. The screen is a little washed out and the ball is really toooo small even compared with a toyshock. Sounds great though... I give it only a B . Why is it 1up always seems to fall short on a initial run and atgames hits it out of the park?

Enjoyed the review PDubs! I would love the Star Wars table if I had space left in the loft.

Honest review. Issue is they pay for these licenses which eats up much of their cost unlike other brands. Their goal is to get their product into retailers at an acceptable cost so I don’t see them making machines bigger or adding too much to their machines if costs go above $600

“Help me PDubs you’re my only hope” I got my Star Wars pinball about 2 weeks ago, but haven’t set it up yet. I picked up a piece of glass to replace the plastic. My Atgames pinball is due to arrive this week. I thought for sure you were getting Star Wars and I’m wondering “did I make a mistake?” Hearing Attack is the best, Marvel looks the best I’m feeling uncertain. Watching cool toys mods with the back screen and putting in a 27 inch screen only made me feel like an idiot. I’m sure I would take a bat to it after screwing up the mod. So I picked Star Wars cause my favorite 1up is the Star Wars with flight yoke and getting the matching pinball I thought made the most sense? (Plus have played those tables on the switch-of course theres 20). I think I haven’t set it up feeling a sense of buyers remorse. Atgames will be here this week (I guess it’s in two shipments because one piece is due We’d and one Thurs). My guess like yours is wave 2 will be superior, but not a reason to wait. Been dying for V-pinball since it was announced 100 years ago. Why am I waiting? I thought I would have torn this open the second it got here? Did I get the wrong one? Will Atgames even things up? Good honest review! The high score glitch you’re experiencing with 2-4 players doesn’t occur for me on my Star Wars machine, so I think unfortunately it’s a defect on your machine! :/

Honestly thought the pinball machines sucked cause it was all virtual but then I stayed at a cabin for vacation which had one, and holy shit it’s so fun!

Don't they have plugs for the screw holes. I guess you have to go to Home Depot and purchase some or go to Amazon.

How hard/how much would’ve it really been to get those jagged edges to be smooth. I;m a casual player, but still want quality while playing. As im writing and watching u play Thor, those flippers look way to far away with the ‘minimized’ gameplay? Cool looking machine, but gonna have to hold out for better quality with that price. PDubs, Great review! I think I now know why Michael B. thought the ball was bigger on the Arcade1up Attack From Mars machine. Unlike the Marvel and Star Wars tables, more of the table play area is shown on the tables on Attack From Mars. Also, when you talked about Toy Shock having 1080p resolution, were you referring to the later boards? I think my original board outputs at 720p as I notice the jaggies (or it just wasn't programmed very well). I'm still waiting for a V3 board (no communication on Toy Shock's end this year :( ). Looks like Im cancelling that preorder I just snagged. Cant justify $600 for blah haptics, accelerometer, sound, and display. Ill just keep playing em on PC. If they ever come out with a JP table, Id probably be a lil more forgiving.

Do you think that Arcade1up will bring that leaked image Universal Back to The Future pinball? I'm waiting for that, hope that they work out any issues before their next wave. Would you be at liberty to say what your favorite Pinball is so far? AtGames, or A1UP? Good review brother. 👍

Funny looking back to when this was 549😩. So is Marvel still your only 1up pinball? Given these are “on sale” for $749, what do you think version 2 is going to sell for? I have Star Wars (the 20 tables on switch were so good that’s why) didn’t live up to switch 20 games. Still playing Atgames 95% of the time still haven’t played all 145 tables. 1up will likely add glass, gotta do better than 26 inch! I say $1000 min for wave 2? Any whispers for Atgames on a wave 2?

Why do I feel like you are trolling all the Deadpool fans, that wanted a Deadpool table on the machine and didn't get it? Also yes... Thor is by far the best table on here, and Civil War is by far the worst table on here.

Recently been shopping and comparing to get my first virtual table. In my area, the atgames legends is only $200 more than the arcade1up tables. I'm finding it hard to find value in the tables, especially considering they're only 720p on 24 inches. Lack of upgradability, online leaderboards, etc.. The Attack from Mars table has unreadable text because of the resolution. Kind of a deal breaker when I combine all those negatives. On the other hand, from what I've seen, the atgames legends has a huge library of tables, clear text on a 1080p 32", online leaderboards, and not too hard to connect your own pc (use my steam library from there). Atgames even sell the pcb to use the 2 monitors from a single hdmi.. Nice that they support my own "modding". Maybe the arcade1up has better features elsewhere?
