I love railguns! Star Wars has railguns and they are SO much better than blasters. An army armed with railguns would ROTFL stomp anyone. For example the Tac-Spec Footman droid had a small railgun built into one hand that dealt damage on par with a heavy blaster pistol!

Thanks to rogue one the death star seems to have a really crazy side to it I noticed that when they fired it at their fist target The Lazer looked less like a Lazer and more like a giant version of the Jedis sword slamming into the planet. If this is actually what is happening it makes the death very terrifying

The one weapon technology I would like to see explained further is the composite beam weaponry. It was made famous by the Death Star and after that it seemed to be mostly ignored. For a weapon technology it seems very interesting.

Make a Video About countermeasures in Star wars (sadly we never see those in the movies), something Like flares / emp/ jamming technology to escape an enemy Lock on/ proton Torpedo :)

honestly, hyper-long range projectile weapons should be more common in Star Wars. While energy weapons will eventually disperse over distance, a solid projectile will keep traveling forever until it hits something.

A rail gun is a gun that uses electromagnetic circuits to fire projectiles and not just any projectile based weapon.

I know it isn't Star Wars, but my favorite railgun has to be the Chandelier from Ace Combat 6. That thing is awe inspiring.

Shout out to Verpine Rifles. They were a great part of the Republic Commando novels - armor-piercing, silent, and could be modified to place trackers.

There's actually a shit ton of different projectile like weapons. The tier 1 and tier 0 projectile weapons would be 1: Gauss projectiles, 2: HardLight projectiles, 3: Pure Dark Energy projectiles. But any technology can become tier 1 or 0, if pushed far enough.

I'd like to see something that goes over the economics of Star Wars. It seems like almost any world is not truly self-sufficient anymore. Most rely on imports of food, medical supplies and technology from off world. This is why blockades during the Clone Wars worked so well. Even after the rise of the Empire you see many war ravaged worlds needing to get supplies from off world still, which allows the Empire to further tighten its grip. I think it would be interesting to go into how everyone seems to buy all their stuff from the same few companies galaxy wide.

Hey Eck, my proposition for a future video is more of an idea is for a new series. The idea would be for an iconic "supercapital" ship like the eclipse or the executor, give it a small escort fleet and pin it against a fleet that would leave the playing field even. The fleet make up and size would be completely up to you; whatever you feel stands a chance against the super's. I think this could work with your current series, star ship verses, or as somewhat of a stand alone. Super Capital ships are one of my favorite aspects of the star wars universe and a combination of your knowledge, enthusiasm, voice, and story telling capabilities would make for an amazing few videos. Either or everything I've watched that you've made I've loved; keep up the amazing work. P.S. I loved both episodes of the after endor series and would love to see them return. You are an amazing story teller!

The Zann Consortium mass driver weapons were so good in Empire at War, i don't know why more ships use them. Ignores shielding, the main strength of all big ships. Same in Halo, the MAC cannons had the power to wreck Covenant capital ships. I guess its easier to ignore them, if they are as OP as they seem.

I'm surprised he didn't talk about the Verpine. Those bugs may be panicky, but they use rail gun technology almost exclusively and made the best damn shield in KOTOR II

Railguns make great handheld weapons. By charging the capacitors longer you can exchange fire rate for kinetic energy anytime you neeed it. Normal enemies? High fire rate Armored enemies? Switch to semi auto armor piercing.

I would like to see a video about what lightsabers can and cant deflect. I mean they can deflect handheld blasters but vehicle/ship based guns? I think I have seen atleast some comics in which some jedi deflected a laser shot from a vulture droid or something like that. Are there any limitations for deflecting?

I find your vids entertaining. Keep up the good work! I also find it a bit wierd that you use the term "rail gun" to describe any type of projectile weaponry. A rail gun is, as far as I understand, a quite specific type of projectile weapon, one that uses supercunductive rails, wich produces magnetic fields that accelerates the projectile forward at great speed. Were you aware when making this video? Cheers!

Verpine Shatter Guns, man. The jedi hunter's best friend. Oh, lightsabers can deflect blaster fire? You know what they can't deflect? A 5mm pellet flying at 3000 meters per second. Even if you try, all you get is a face full of high speed molten slag as the pellet melts but maintains its velocity.

You should use the term Mass Driver since it is a general term rather than rail gun as that has a very specific design principle.

The original write-ups or description for blasters would put them in the rail-gun category... this ends up also being a problem with star wars as if something wasn't explained, an author would take liberties, and then you have 2-3 explanations for the same item. Blasters (pistol, rifle, vehicle and even ship mounted blasters as well as turbo lasers) used an energy clip or ships power to excite/charge a packet of Tibanna gas turning it into high energy plasma. In the case of larger weapons a Laser precharger was use (hence Turbo - Laser) the energized plasma was then accelerated down a magnetic liner acceleration tube (rail gun barrel) and fired as a packet of coherent plasma gas. This "writeup" was also used to "justify" the RECOIL we see in turbo lasers, as well as the knockback we see when blaster bolts hit troopers, as even though the "mass" was small, the kinetic energy was still high due to the velocity being high.
