I’m a die hard Star Wars fan, read all the old legends stuff, read the new stuff. Generally positive about just about everything that’s ever been released. That includes The Last Jedi which Robbie loves, and Clem hates. It includes the prequels, and it includes all the stuff Disney has given us…until now. I’ve never hated a Star Wars anything until now. 99% percent of it comes from the presentation. Acoylte looks so unbelievably cheap. Robbie and Clem said it looked like it belonged on Syfy or CW early on in the reviews and I cannot shake that. It’s at such a level of low budget that is actually ruining a lot of the scenes for me. I think the most text book example of this was when Yord was using Binoculars on the roof, watching Mae and Sol fight in the town square. He was like 10 feet up. The tiny sets they’re using were completely magnified here. This show isn’t bad because it has lesbian mom witches, or because Ki Adi Mundi is suddenly way older. It’s because it looks like shit. This is a case of simple bad directing, and it permeates through the whole show, including the performances of most of these actors. Squid Games better not die in the next episode. He’s the only character who is enjoyable, but he can’t carry the whole thing. Is it as bad as the Holiday Special? Maybe not, but it looks as cheap, when compared to today’s standards. Where did that 180 mil go?

Canon not broken at all. Nobody even mentions the possibility of it being a Sith training Mae, because Sith have been "extinct" for over 900 years. They theorize it might be a splinter group or rogue Jedi. And this "small counsel" is covering it up anyway, since if they told the master counsel, they'd be required by law to disclose to the Senate. And just the appearance of a red saber, doesn't equal Sith. Plenty of non-Sith had red sabers, it just indicates a dark side user. I also don't think in the end that any of the Jedi that see the Sith/red saber are gonna survive the season, so the core Jedi never hear about him. So Ki Adi saying in TPM Maul was not a Sith, still fits.

I would be annoyed if Filloni missed / forgot Ki Ad Mundi’s line in TPM. But… there is no chance he did. It’s way more likely ki adi mundi does not know about the Sith. Darth Gimp is most likely not a Sith. Either a dark side user or the acolyte to the real Sith. I don’t understand why everyone was jumping to conclusions before the season was over.
