I feel you Chris . The only thing I’m excited for is Andor S2 and after that idk if I’m gonna keep watching Star Wars… kinda sad

There's no problem covering the old era of Star wars. That's what has kept the franchise afloat all this time and most of these shows are doing their own thing even when they're technically set in that era it connected to it and they're bombing hard. I could take another decade of OT and prequel stuff if it's actually produced well because really, we haven't got much of that original setting when you think about that shows aside from Andor.

People tend to forget that Star Wars is a space opera. The dialogue and acting have always been stilted. They pivoted from the Sith focused storyline a year into production. Granted, it is a mediocre show at this point. I just don't have high expectations for anything i watch these days. I just go in with the mentality of, "tell me a story". I go from there into if I'll like it. The expanded lore is nice. The coven's singing took me out too 🤣. I never could get into the EU books. Too fanfiction-y. ANDOR.. 🤦🏽‍♂️. I'll never get the hype for that show. I might need to watch it again, i just think it was underwhelming and not focused. How is the title character not even that pivotal in the show named after him? Should have named it "Tales of the Rebellion" or "Rise of the Rebellion" or something. Not to mention dropping Andor looking for his sister, which was the start of the series. The incompetent security officer and him simping over the inspector out of nowhere, and the fact that both of them survived the end of the season without dying or being mutilated. Don't even get me started on the heist episode 🤦🏽‍♂️. How did they go into that situation without a pilot? They knew the make and model of the ship they'd be taking, yet none of them knew how to fly it? A pilot is the first thing you recruit. Andor didn't even need to be in that episode. They could have made Mothma's sister the pilot and have her kill the traitor, it would have been more impactful in challenging her ideals of the Resistence. Andor could have been captured after killing those two security guards and sent to prison earlier, than what we got of a mistaken identity as an accomplice 😂. That felt so fucking jarring tbh.

Only one character from High Republic books/comics is in the show 116 year old Vernestra Rwoh. That's it. The couldn't even get Burryaga a wookiee jedi from 100 in the past who would still be alive during The Acolyte. To clear things up High Republic books/comics Phase 1 and 3 take place 200 years before Episode I, and Phase 2 takes place 400 years before Episode I.

After episode 3 I'm not watching The Acolyte anymore. Plus the episode reminded me of the better story told in Phase 2 of High Republic books. I'll stick to the High Republic books, at least people in that department follow and respect their own canon, and stories are more interesting than The Acolyte series.

Star Wars is Skywalkers and the core characters. Venturing out further from that is always gonna be risky. And shitty writers will always be risky too. 😂

This show is NyQuil, so boring.

They took everything I thought Star Wars to be, from the fighting style, clothing, dialog and cinematography and basically destroyed it all. Right now I'm a half witted scruffy looking nerf herder.

Again this comes all back to Disney not hiring the right people to write and make these shows. They’re nothing creative here, nothing to get you excited just more disappointment. The fans that dislike this show are trying to send a point to Disney that we are not happy with the content they give us.

The Acolyte is not good, but dislike the show for the right reasons, not the wrong reasons. People need to chill out. It’s a series on Disney+. If you don’t like it, then don’t watch it.

I appreciate you trying to give it a shot. However expect the comment section to be flooded with those types that gate out without actually seeing the show Honestly? This show and others show the KZfaqr who are willing to sell themselves out for clicks. I don’t understand how you can find the story boring. But yes it’s like your hate of Sonic. I’ll never understand lol

This is a nothing-burger of a tv show. Here’s the thing though: Disney-Star Wars is allowed to make a bad series every now and then. It’s really not a big deal. People are proclaiming this to be “the end of Star Wars” or “Star Wars is dead.” Relax, people. It’s just a sub-par show on Disney+. It’s not the end of the world. Not a big deal.

Yeah, I'm not convinced that The Acolyte is that bad. Sorry, a lot of the criticism that I'm seeing from KZfaqrs boils down to people not paying attention. Honestly, you lose credibility when you claim that production and direction is cheap.
