I love this movie. It's my favorite out of the sequels and even, at least, my second favorite Star Wars movie. It's so great. I also love the other sequel movies but this one is definitely the best.

Mine too. The people who don't like it need to ask themselves what they would have done. JJ Abrahms is the reason we got "Jake Skywalker" as TLJ critics refer to Luke, how was Luke supposed to react after failing miserably with Kylo Ren and why was he supposed to thrn go be isolated on an island? Not to mention, Luke had a rosie picture of the Jedi painted for him in the original trilogy. The truth probably came out not long after the original trilogy. 30 years and all that happening will change a person. The problem isn't that "Luke wouldn't say that", the problem is the character is being judged from ideals he had 30 years ago when a lot of shit happened to him. If you don't like that handling of Luke, it's JJ Abrams you need to blame, and maybe Kathleen Kennedy for throwing out the treatments although from what I understand that version of Luke was actually based on George's treatments. Luke is George's self-insert (Lucas->Luke), in the original trilogy he's this young idealist who brings down a tyranical empire (rookie filmmaker who makes one of the biggest films of all time), in the sequals he's a recluse that's given up on the force (Lucas selling Star Wars) after a "failure" involving learning the truth about the idolised Jedi.

If you notice, the entire first order theme is a subversion of the imperial march. Brilliantly showing that the first order was birthed from the empire, but blossomed into something different and much, much darker

B. Lloyd Reese TFA soundtrack definitely had to grow on me but it is a solid effort. Rey's Theme Kylo Ren Arrives at the Battle The Abduction Torn Apart and Jedi Steps are all great music
