The Sacking of Coruscant. It was the crowning achievement of the Sith Empires ambitious military strategy and the moment that changed the history of the Old Republic forever. You may have read about it before, but our first cinematic trailer captures this event with breathtaking action and beautiful detail.
Republic leaders have traveled to Alderaan to engage in promised peace talks with the Sith Empire. The most powerful Jedi have accompanied them to safeguard against an Imperial deception. The Empires real motive, however, was simply to lure the Republics strongest defenders away from Coruscant and set the stage for an audacious attack. Under the command of Lord Angral, the Sith fleet approaches the Republics capital planet for the first time in centuries. In advance of the fleet, the strongest Sith Warriors have flown a stolen Republic ship into Coruscants orbit. Their mission is critical to destroy the planets defense grid mainframe hidden in the heart of the Jedi Temple.

@@BoltBlades12 The war had the jedi spread to thinly across galaxy, all the top jedi were not on Coruscant when the attack on the temple happened, it was basically Vader and 501st against a small handful of jedi and padawans and the jedi that were killed off of Coruscant were out numbered 100 to 1

Freddy Krueger It still should’ve been easier considering the fact that the CW era Jedi favored training in forms dealing with blaster wielding opponents, like droids or clones. Only thing that should’ve been a problem was Vader, since they weren’t trained to combat Sith like the OR Jedi were.

@@BoltBlades12 It was one Jedi per battalion of Troopers and most of were killed when there backs turned Obi Wan was on cliff when his Troops fired at him with the canon, Plo Kloon was in his fighter when his Troops fired at him from their x-wings, plus the jedi generals didn't sense the Troopers intentions until it was to late, only Yoda had time to react because he wasn't engaged in a battle

They really capture the Jedi vs sith fighting styles so well at 2:30 . Malgus’ strikes are furious, passionate, almost hateful. The head Jedi is flowing, redirecting his foe’s attacks.

But there were obviously some standouts in the clone wars era, such as mace windu, yoda, who could have competed with and probably beat the best of the old republic

Not to kill your comment or anything, but one of the first things trainees on both sides are taught is how to shield themselves with the force. Obviously, power level is variable, but I doubt most force users would suffer any damages from a small controlled crash like that, even more so because this is supposed to be an elite strike team that paves the way for the entire imperial invasion of the planet (temple shield generator had to fall or it was an abort.)

@@Artboy_22 he did. but within the context of Sith Empire politics (rivals out to kill him etc) his decision was coldly rational. it was morally repugnant, but still made sense. nothing emo about it. regarding Kylo, nobody can convince me that an alive Han Solo would be a weakness of any kind for him, considering they basically had a non-relationship at the time of the movie.

Don't cough at the Banites. Do remember that the Banites were spending centuries learning under these guys. They learned for decades the techniques that these guys were just learning. Of course they were not the type who went to the Temple and fought the Jedi in the open but they've turned the entire galaxy against them to the point where plenty of people believed that Sidious was a hero Post ROTJ. The only one who really nearly kriffed up the Grand Plan was Darth Gravid.

In case anybody wants to know at 1:44 that is Darth Adraas. He was one of the Sith that supported the peace treaty and was later killed by Malgus for his weakness and "mongrelization" of the purity of the Sith Order. He was the apprentice of Darth Angral. Adraas also took all the credit for the Sacking of the Jedi Temple which made Malgus hate him further. He was Malgus' main rival and taunted him constantly publicly and was trying to take Malgus' position in the Sith Hierarchy. Malgus ended up taking him down with his Sith Lightning and then removed his glove and crushed Adraas' neck with his bare hand. I hope someone finds this interesting. I thought it was cool to share.

They used the capture of the planet to strong-arm the Republic into giving them over two-thirds of the known Galaxy at the time. The Sith Empire was winning by the way, they only agreed to the Treaty of Coruscant because Vitiate got bored and told the Dark Council to offer the Republic a treaty.

The ending was the best part, when Malgus stabbed that Jedi (sorry forgot his name) and the last thing he saw was Couracant being destroyed, a truly powerful moment.

I know this is 2 years late but in the book “decieved” that astro droid plays role throughout the story. He survived the battle and recorded the whole fight and showed the patawan of the Jedi that malgus kills in the end. And she leaves the order and goes on a manhunt to get revenge for killing her master.

How is the end any different? Ven Zallow fought to defend the Jedi temple and killed a few Sith, but still died to Malgus. Shaak Ti didn't kill any Sith (to be fair, there were only 2 of them in her time) and still died. End result: Jedi Order is still buggered in both scenarios.

@@trueblue6201 Disagree, the entire story of SWTOR is great despite the fact it pales in comparison to KOTOR I & 2. Yes, in spite of being inferior to everything that came before it, it's still a better story than the ST. I highly recommend picking up the Legends books: Revan, The Third Lesson, Smuggler's Vanguard, Deceived (Ties in to this Trailer), Red Harvest, and Fatal Alliance. They tell the story of the SWTOR Era nicely and are good at telling the story without having to play the MMO.

Of course not a single or in truth all 12 star wars movies can match a game that has 8 stories with over 9 hours worth of story a piece either.

*13 years going and I keep coming back to this trailer. Ol' Boi did have a point: The jedi were full of their own hubris & blinded to the fact anyone would ever challenge. When a sith or dark side trained force came; the council just buried it to build up their own reputation. A reputation that Palps would eventually break down the road.*
