Simple troopers were cannon fodders. The one thing the Republic did right, and I mean real right is the training of special forces. Commandos, also Havoc Squad were a cut above the rest.

Well the sith and jedi were also 10x weaker, they didn't have as much information available to them its like athlethics, every generation is better than the last beceause of advancement in training, genetics, evolution etc. Jedi and Sith were a lot weaker back then and they got stronger where troopers stayed the same. Plus republic troopers in the movies were trained to fight droids not sith, in Old Republic there was much much more sith so the troopers were trained to fight sith for example: hand to hand combat on par with a sith, mental tolerance to avoid mind tricks, pain tolerance for force lightning, weak points and where to shoot with a rifle, how to deflect force abilities etc. Also Zadentai is right these guys are special forces so their slightly better than the normal troopers.

Malgus was allways stringer than satele and satele was saved by someone in both duels. her master saved her from a sertain death by throwing his lightsaber. and in alderaan (this vid) she got saved by her boytoy. and malgus even tho critically wounded rose up and still killed 2 jedi knights....

Well, holding off his attack while cutting down a tree, that's bad ass in my book. And she used a double bladed light saber, that for some reason was easily cut in half. Perhaps if she used one handed saber it would have been different. But Bioware and Lucas Arts are biased towards Imps. The strongest character in the universe is an Imp (the Emperor), so no surprise there. Still bad ass.

Malgus's hate fuels his combat meanwhile Satele fucks up her jedi training and her entire life is a mess....How the fuck did she ever become grandmaster if the order if she cant even follow the code or jedi ways properly.... She didnt expect malguses quick response and unbalanced satele was easily defeated. If her boytoy wouldnt have interrupted Malgus she had worn out her stamina and died in his hands....

She relys on force and her own balance which are both at chaotic state which is why she cant beat malgus who is merciless destructor. Meanwhile Jace is ready to throw everything he has to stop malgus Brute force vs Brute Force. Brings more result than Sateles defensive from.

@@grantwalter2243 Yes, all lightsabers mostly weigh the same. BUT the physical prowess and force of their respective wielders vary! Just imagine you and a pal in a stick fight. Both of you will swing/thrust that sticks with different speed, momentum and range and with possibly entirely different moves altogether. Malgus and Vader both used powerful, slow blows to break through their enemies' defences. Obi-Wan and Yoda for instance used a more defensive, advanced and fast style to stay maneuverable during a fight. It depends on the person wielding the light saber, not the weight of the weapon itself ;)

Well, it is made out of "light" (lasers), but if it were permeable, like lasers in our world, they wouldn't be able to block each others' blades, would they? It appears the blades can cut through anything as if they were using a "physical" blade. Wenn we see them slash across a wall or terminal, we can see the cut mark slightly going though the surface, not entirely cutting it equal to the length of how far the blade went in, unless the blade itself goes though a certain length. Only then do they appear to slash things in half, when the blade actually goes through completely to sever the material front to back. So in hindsight of that facts, light sabers seem to work like their real world counterparts. And wouldn't that only be possible if they behave like "real" weapons made of physical material? In Rebels, we can see the Inquisitors spinning their blades so fast, they create an air stream that allows them to fly like a helicopter. If the blades would weigh nothing and were merely made of "light", would they even create an gravitational uplift? Or maybe the wielder uses the force in combination with the spinning to create an upward momentum/effet to support their body lifting up? The rotor blades of helicopters have to weigh a certain amount to be able to create a strong enough air stream to support the lifted body. So maybe they DO have weight to the blade? Or maybe it's the weight of the hilt that gives the wielder a feeling of how fast or slow he can go with it? Or maybe we are just overthinking it. This is Star Wars after all, not Star Trek. SW indulges in the fun and adventure of their stories, only exceedingly explaining parts of their narravitve frame/world building when it serves a better understanding, whereas ST tries to provide a scientific explanation to every physical/astral law they represent. When you watch the sequels, you can't care less of what the hell happens or who is going to win, because of how poorly written are those characters, so the fights are not intriguing, don't enerate suspense. Here is the opposite. You wonder if the evil is going to win, or if the diehard republic trooper is going to actually achieve something more than a brave death, and when Satele appears you can imediatly see that she is not a Mary Sue like Rey that is going to win because of yes. Greg Scoggin they had surprise and were hitting a vulnerable spot, when using surprise you press the advantage and rack up the damage and distance as fast as you can before the enemy can reform. If they had stayed up on the cliff, eventually the with army would have reformed and started shooting back up with more than the battered republic troopers would have been able to handle.
