What I always loved about George is that he actually thought about "okay, what is the culture of this planet?" like, he thought about how the aliens in Kamino would travel from one place to another, he thought about what is the culture in Mustafar. His ideas and worldbuilding are amazing, his scripts not so much (and I love the prequels) but I just love how committed he is to making sense of the galaxy,

It's more spectacle than substance. It's visually fun and engaging. Call it what it is, a spectacle fest. Not surprising since the Prequels heavily relied on CGI more than the Original Trilogy. I appreciate the movie but more because of all the games that came out of it.

I'm not a complete prequel hater, but I can't stand the prequel fights. They carry no emotional weight or tension. That's more important than the fighting itself. The fights are also over choreographed and felt unnatural. They look cool, but they are lifeless. I absolutely hate the episode 3 battle, especially when they start climbing around. It's so over the top. Episode 1 had a decent fight, especially when Qui-Gon dies because it gains that sense of urgency, but the rest of the movie hurts it. The Empire Strikes Back and Return Of The Jedi are by far the best saber battles. IMO.

The Film Effect that's not true. The first one holds weight because it's a young Obi Wan and his master and the first of a Sith Lord in a 1000 years. Episode 2 is just a beginning to the clone wars and episode 3 is what predates the new hope fight. It may not be much, but it's what predates the fights before the 4th, 5th and 6th films. Also, ROTJ is the best. Luke using his rage and declaring himself a Jedi, was the just the beginning.

[Anakin Skywalker] Yeah I loved the prequels more than the sequels as well, but that doesn’t really matter rn. The sequels made money since they’re Star Wars and wether we like it or not even “disappointing” SW movies will make a ton of money. I’m honestly fine with this as it keeps the brand alive. And personally I don’t exactly hate the sequels. Sure I would’ve preferred George Lucas’ sequel trilogy, but we got what we got and there’s no way to revert that so it’s best to just find some good in it. Anyway, we got The Mandalorian and Clone Wars S7 and hopefully the Obi-Wan show doesn’t suffer from cancellation. From rumors we’re supposedly getting a Knights of the Old Republic remake game to basically get the KOTOR stuff in canon. Hopefully they’ll keep the same spirit from the og games. Also a rumored High Republic era series of movies which will be 400 years before the Skywalker Saga. When Yoda is a younger Jedi and Darth Bane is around and creates the “Rule of Two” I really hope we’re getting this stuff as it sounds like it could change the SW movies in an amazing way.

For me, the prequels were always the "true Star Wars films" cause those movies came out when I was at the age of starting to get interested in stuff like that and I was sooo fascinated when I first saw the prequels. It took noticeably long time when I even got to know there was an original trilogy. That's why I have grown to love these prequel movies so it feels weird when so many ppl dislike them :D ...And because of that, I ask anyone who hates them to tell why, what was bad in them coz I really cant tell what was bad since I have so deep emotional connection to them.

its exactly the same for me , I grew up watching the prequels and I love all 8 Star Wars films equally but it is a fact that in the prequels ....some of the dialogue and acting is kinda cheesy at some moments for example , the dude who played Darth maul may have been a great stunt artist but all his lines in the movie are terrible acted , almost childish another example jar jar banks is annoying , not funny and just dumb overall (if you think otherwise then thats great) there are other reasons why ppl hate the prequels but I'm not going into it too far i dont hate the prequels but I think that from an objective view , the original trilogy are generally better movies.

It's why _Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark_ had Jones shoot the swordsman in that iconic scene, because Harrison Ford came down with sickness during production.

I've just finished watching the star wars prequels and for the first time ever could see how extraordinarily brilliant they are. George Lucas is a man of incomparable vision and there is an astonishingly extraordinary amount of beauty and depth, texture and nuance - a great visionary brilliance in the prequel trilogy. George's storytelling/mythmaking and worldbuiding is absolutely incredible. There is so much truth and profundity in those films, and he absolutely pushed the envelope and raised the bar from the original trilogy. He should have stayed the path, not sold his creation, and created something new again with the sequel trilogy. It is our great loss. If you don't see the beauty, vision and wisdom of the prequels, that's okay too. May the force be with you. 🎯

We get offices, papers, logistics and so on. Down to the nitty gritty. They're not trying to convince you that they're good. It's not propaganda. You look at the behind the scenes for the new Star Wars films, it's all about "the magic" and the "feeling". No real insight into the production. I feel like this reflects the quality and end result in each film. Disney is trying to convince you. Lucas shows you.

Episode III is probably my favorite out of the entire saga , maybe tied with the Empire Strikes Back … The way they slowly showed Anakin’s turn to the dark side and the collapse of the Jedi order and how it ends with Vader’s birth is just done magnificently . I kinda get why people disliked the Phantom Menace, it just felt like a comedy at times and didn’t really gave that feel the original movies had. There was just too much going on at some point… however in Revenge of the Sith it just all ties in very exactly and feels like a true missing part to the Saga and made it feel more complete .

Episode III was actually an amazing film in it's own right, even when viewed as a stand-alone movie, on it's own, outside of the Star Wars saga... I actually feel that it was very under-appreciated. But just look at the story-line, the character development, the locations, the dialogue, the effects and the soundtrack... ALL top-notch! It's definately my favourite of the Star Wars "prequels" (as they've come to be known), but as I said, I find it an absolutely ASTOUNDING piece of cinema, even when viewed as a singular, stand-alone movie, but, having said that, another of it's AMAZING qualities is how it ties into the other Star Wars movies. It fits seamlessly into the universe created by Lucas, and one of the stongest instances of this in my opinion is the character development of established and much-loved characters from the franchise, particularly the story of the single most interesting character in the entire saga (in my opinion) Anakin Skywalker! Anyone who hasn't viewed "Revenge of the Sith" yet (for whatever strange and unbelievable reason) you are in for a SERIOUS treat! One of the most polished and well-constructed pieces of cinema of our generation. Much respect and love from Davey, a HUGE life-long Star Wars nut from the island of Éire/Ireland, (where filming for Episode VII "The Force Awakens" (The "Luke" scene) and the upcoming Episode VIII took place) :)

I remember that wonderful May of 2005. There was a peculiar atmosphere of excitement because of the premiere, as at that time everyone knew this was the final episode of the Saga. One that would tie the era of the Republic with the era of the Empire, the 2000s with the 1980s. Despite - or perhaps because - I was a boy then, the film itself was an experience without equal in my life. And to this day, despite knowing of the weaker aspects of the movie, "Revenge of the Sith" is my favorite of the six episodes and actually the most favorite film of my life: the story, the characters, the music, the worldbuilding, the sound effects of everything from igniting of a lightsaber to the pressurizing of Vader's helmet - and just the mythical scale of events... Thank You, George Lucas.

Supa 4ys All of you people state your opinions as facts. That's a common theme among prequel fans, they can't see beyond their cultish adoration for the franchise regardless of the valid points.

@@profile2047Try the other way around. A lot of Prequel Bashers invented points, lied, confused CGI for practical, misremembered lines.

While I think the prequels have there ups and downs, the documentaries, especially this one, are a fantastic step by step 101 on the art of film making and what it takes to make a movie. I gotta admit these docs helped me in making my projects.

I’m going to explain to everyone why people hate the sequels (Does not contain my opinions) When the prequels came most adult fans HATED them because it didn’t meet their expectations of what a Star Wars movie should be Many people thought that they were bland compared to the originals and lacked the simplicity of what made the originals so amazing The original trilogy was a fantastic anomaly that no movie can match and people wanted the sequels to be just like them Yet the only people really liked the prequels when they came out were kids because well they’re kids and the prequels were the Star Wars movies they grew up with And the reason why they continued loving them is because well they’re used to them it their eyes that was their Star Wars movies And obviously not all people who grew up with these movies loved them but most kids had these in they’re head as their Star Wars films So when episode 7 came out the reason why people hated them was because they weren’t used to this movie because it just came out The fans (not all of them) focused too much on their expectations and when they were disappointed and looking for things to complain about often coming out as “nitpicking” People didn’t realize that the film actually had a lot of things to write home about When people say it’s a ripoff of episode 4 they forget that most of the things it barrows from episode 4 are played off in a clever way often inverting the emotional context of the scene The force awakens has enough things to make it different from episode 4 Luke Skywalker is a random nobody who wants to get off of his desert planet Rey is also a random nobody but it is clearly seen that she is a skilled fighter and is a good pilot based on the fact that she salvages ship parts and finds out they work Also has been in the millennium falcon before based on where she says “that one’s garbage” when talking in reference about the millennium falcon this shows us how Rey knows about the falcon and how it works And unlike Luke Rey wants to stay on her planet Except the one thing they have in common is that they can use the force without training (the training scene on the millennium Falcon is NOT force training it is lightsaber training, in lightsaber training the force guides you where as in force training YOU learn to guide and control the force) One last thing The kids who are growing up with the sequels in 20 years are going to look back and say “why did people hate these movies” So now the people who hated the sequels in the new generation’s eyes are now like the people who hated the prequels (if you like or dislike the prequels or the sequels that’s completely fine) just know that in 20 years the sequels are going to be seen as the “misunderstood jems” that many people saw the prequels as

@@mrclean3472 I have a problem with the sequels because they feel rushed, lack consistency at times and shit massively on the previous trilogies' story. There are parts that I enjoy. Episode IX makes no fucking sense though and there are wasted characters(Finn, Holdo, Tallie Lintra)...
