In a viral video captured of the moment, the two men are seen being handcuffed and led out of the establishment as patrons question why the men are being arrested. CEO Kevin Johnson said in a video posted online Monday, “What happened and the way it escalated and the outcome is nothing but reprehensible.” #InsideEdition

Max Riggah The part they're not telling you is, these men were asked to leave because they hadn't purchased anything. Which a private property is entitled to do. And they refused to leave. I went to Starbucks with my wife with a gift card purchased at the Walgreens next door. The employees said that they did not accept gift cards from Starbucks. When we told them that we did not have cash, they threw our entire order in the garbage right in front of us. We later called the corporate office, complained and got some coupons for free drinks. But why have to go through the embarrassment in the first place?

People meet there all the time to study, talk, work, or read. And still some of you suggest they were still wrong. Point is if they were a different race, cops wouldn't have been called. Its not the CEO or the company its the manager or whoever called, that needs to be moved or reprimanded.

What I find funny is that many of the people saying they got what they deserve for breaking the rules, obviously hasn't spent 20 seconds simply scanning a few articles. The men were not breaking any rules by being there without purchasing anything. There is a reason the CEO is apologizing and it has nothing to do with bowing to pressure. Here's a quote "The company instructs employees to call the police in certain situations, such as those involving “threats or disturbance,” Mr. Johnson said. The employee did not have a reason to call the police, that is why she was fired from Starbucks. Considering the comments you see on this channel anytime it has to do with a minority, I'm not surprised at some of the things I'm seeing here today.

That doesn't mean you can exploit a private space of a business establishment. The two men had to leave or purchase when prompted. Regardless of what others were doing. There is no racism here. It is a pathetic case of a couple of scrooges who invited all this by not buying a goddamned cup of coffee while waiting.

Sure, order a water. The reason these guys didn't order anything when they first arrived was because they were waiting for a friend to join them so they could order together. The manager made an assumption (and I feel like it was possibly racially motivated) that these men had ill intentions, when they were clearly just waiting for somebody. I hope the manager is fired.

The two guys used the bathroom without paying or buying anything. So the Starbucks employees asked them to leave(this is there policy) the police asked them to leave multiple times too. Since they did not leave they were arrested for trespassing. They were not arrested because they were African American

I waited at a starbucks once for about 5 or ten minutes before my interviewer came to start my session with her. I didnt buy anything. I wanted to but didnt even want anything from there. Just felt bad for waiting around without buying anything. Glad i didnt get asked to leave. Sometimes ppl need to think before they act. I got to a doctors appointment early as hell once. And i sat and listened to my radio and ate some fruit in the waiting area before i checked in. Eventually a worker came out to ask if i could be helped with anything ...i told her i was early for an appt. and she told me that was ok. She asked me to sign and that i would be called back asap. All workers need to do is asses situations. I didnt pose a threat to anyone at the hospital so why would i get kicked out? If those men wouldve been handled properly none of this would be a story

They where asked to leave because they wanted to go to the bathroom but they where non paying customers, so they where asked to leave several times but they didn’t so Star Bucks employees called the cops and they asked them to leave, they said no, so that’s trespassing, then they where arrested. Also it’s Starbucks company policy that if people don’t pay they can’t use the bathroom

Jairo Herrera I saw the video of their arrest and the guys were not screaming, their friend that was not arrested was. Honestly though these employees don’t have actual work to do rather than worrying about people just chilling? I’m sure they were not the first people in history to just chill in a Starbucks. I used to be a barista and people did this ALL the time, we had work to do rather than play hall monitor. If they asked for a cup of water we’d even give it to them (for free).

No racism here. CEO's apology was nothing more than a flimsy PR tactic. A damage control in the face of undesirable attention incited by the mobocratic hysteria. The two men refused to purchase or leave despite a repeated request to do so. The cops were called and they still chose none of the above which led to the arrest. The heart of the matter is that the men were trespassing a private business. They were non-customers. And the cheap excuse saying there were others doing the same thing take them nowhere. That does not absolve the two of their own illegal activity. This is the stupidest mass hysteria that regarded bums as the victims of non-existent racism.

For all you people who claim "policy" as justification for these men being arrested must have never visited a Starbucks and I assume can't afford the coffee. THE WHOLE DRAW OF STARBUCKS IS THAT YOU CAN HANG OUT THERE. People have WHOLE BOOKS or mentions in articles about how they finished a screenplay in Starbucks and could not afford to buy anything at the time. There have been DOZENS of scenes in televisions and Movies where people loiter at Starbucks.

While I agree they shouldnt have been arrested. They most certainly broke a cardinal rule of establishments though which is you BUY something if you want to hang around.. hell places around here make you buy something if you just want to use the restroom.

pfft, that's PA for you. Went there for a short trip with my wife. Was excited and all, never been to PA for their foods. Went to Pats for our first time since we saw it on TV. Waited in line, came back to our car and there was cheese thrown on it. I'm like what the heck did we do? We were quiet in line just waiting to order. Definitely will never go back to PA.
