The fact that lowko managed to complete the entire mission with only +1 upgrade and such a random setup is a fucking Christmas miracle.

Blizzard clarified some stuff before the release of Heart of the Swarm. The vision is basically a prediction based on everything the Overmind knew. It took that and created a scenario of what would be likely to happen if Kerrigan died. He created Kerrigan with free will, unlike himself and the Cerebrates. She's influenced by the Dark Voice but not controlled by it. And an important thing to note is that he didn't do this to save the whole universe. He did it because he didn't want the Zerg he worked so hard to evolve to be reduced to Hybrid food after they'd served their purpose. He would have been perfectly happy if the Zerg had wiped out or absorbed all other life in the universe.

I was fully expecting Lowko to lose the phoenix in the first 5 minutes or never discover that you can lift hybrids, and then get through the mission anyway.

He really held back on the upgrades here.

Lowko, regarding Nova, well she won't be with you in the cantina but if you take your time reading the info about the ghost canister rifles in the armoury, it will be worth it.

i wonder if he knows about the secret mission? just in case he doesn't. spoiler alert in the mission media blitz there is a tower in the bottom right side of the map. if you destroy it you get a secret mission with a lot of easter eggs and plot development. please like to pin this to the top so lowko can see this. it is important he does this.

This mission really got to me for some reason. All those speeches and last words and the wording "Defend until the last protoss falls" got me really emotional.

Genuinely, this mission has stuck with me ever since I first played it; just the mission objective on the menu itself is enough to make your blood run cold, it doesn't say fight survive, it doesn't say take as many with you as you can, and it doesn't say try to win, it simply tells you to *witness* the end.

Lowko.. I was puling my hair out for three days straight, using all my free time trying to beat this god damn mission using a defensive strategy and it failed every single time. I took your approach and finished it finally. Thank you Lowko. You saved me from taking years off my life from stress and anger. You're the man!

I appreciate the recaps at the beginning. I get confused about what is going on too and your recaps help me make sense of where the story is at.

I remember in 2008 I was 10 years old playing this mission. I am not afraid to admit that I cried every time a protoss hero fell. The last words of all the hero’s are so cool to hear.

I love the part of this mission when I can send all my probes in the final moments of the battle, dying in a blaze of glory.

Is anyone out there who performed the Dark Templar wall on this mission to get the Achievements? By the way, very soul-crushing mission lore-wise. (A quick explanation: for one part of SC fans this mission was a beautiful plot twist; and for the another - the turning point where the SC story just gone complete apeshit) P.S. Holy cow I was amazed when I saw the Artanis in SC2 for the first time playing it! A complete jaw drop.

Couple of things, Lowko. You made that look semi-easy where as I struggled with it for a bit. Next Episode you should do the Nova Mission and as for the final tier of Zerg Research, that is heavily decided on whether you go against full air or full ground zerg, so whatever you choose here, remember for the last mission.

I never thought to try using the Phoenix to lift the hybrid, that is so helpful!

yo just a fun cheese method for the first ~12 minutes of this mission, just put down a line of dark templar at each exit, the zerg won't have detection yet, and will just run into them until they die. it can't get you through the mission, but it can give you some breathing space

This mission looks amazing. I can't wait till I reach it in the campaign. Also, yes I'm both watching Lowko's campaign series and playing the campaign in quarantine. Shut up. I have nothing else to do till "school" starts again.

I've played through the campaign a number of times, its the thing i enjoy most about SC II, but I'm not nearly on your level so I don't play it on Brutal ... And I am pretty sure that is the first time I've ever seen Amon reference the A -Team ... "I love it when the plan comes together!"

in fact, if you go sky toss as soon as you get carriers, you will be fucked since enemy waves composition changes in relation to the players. There will be endless waves of hydralisk and hybrid destroyer and corruptors. U will immediately die in one wave due to high dps of hydralisk and hybrid destroyers.

I'm like 99% convinced that this was Lowko's first time playing through the Protos part of the WoL campaign. He talked about how he would skip the cut scenes and go right to the missions, and that he wouldn't click on the other conversation points on the ship, so how would he know that their were extra missions down in the lab.
