@@rokukou no, the player doesn't really do anything, they just stay by his side and the most they ever do is taking him to the hospital. Shane takes all the desicions he has to take to get better. He wasn't forced to go apologize to the player and tell them he's getting better, but he did. He wasn't forced to not roll over and throw himself off the cliff, but he still didn't do it. Shane's arc is about having a friend (maybe eventually lover) being there for you even when you think you don't deserve it.

Dude willy is just a legend I always get my fishing skill maxed the first (because it's the easiest) TO HONOR HIM And Honestly how can you hate a character like him he is so simple and why's i like him Just me rambling about fishing And because it's fun in my opinion to fish it's just so calm (most of the time) and peaceful I use it to pass time or earn extra cash But sadly in the later stages of the game fishing became useless because you earn so much money by farming or taking care of animals

Honestly, I marry Leah for the storyline it makes in my head. I just think she makes the most sense as your wife. You're both very canny, helpful and hard-working people on the outskirts of town, you both spend your childhood in Pelican Town before moving to the big city, you both decided to come here for a fresh start in life, you're both gambling hard on making it in the valley because there's not much left to go back to in the city. I don't know, that just seems to be the most logical pairing. Two ambitious city dwellers helping each other out and finding happiness, success, and love away from all the noise and hassle of modern living. Also, her dialogues are very good. Especially the Summit scene: _“I think we've both found what we were looking for in this place. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else, but here with you.”_ That's some Tenki no Ko, Kimi no Nawa love story shit, bro. I love that shit.

I don't like how either group of people ever treats Shane. On one hand you have the people you mention, that try to say they're "fixing" him. On the other hand, you have weirdos saying that he regresses and that he's horrible for having a relapse. You truly can't win if you like Shane for how true and realistic his story feels as a mentally ill person. Worst part is, in canon, the farmer doesn't do much. They're there for Shane, and they show their support, but all the desicions Shane take are his own. Nobody "fixes" him, he betters himself and puts in extra effort to even apologize to the farmer for being rude and for what he made them go through. Most Stardew Valley players are sooooo weird about mental illness no matter where you look.

I'm not saying you can't help people who are suicidal or struggling, I'm saying you cannot fully change them to become better. If the entire town became infected with a weird disease everyone would probably point fingers at him for not being vaccinated so i get their point lmao Linus is cool but i don't understand him. Sometimes he says he doesnt like sticking around in a place for too long but he literally lives in his tent the whole game and during the ice event he mentions having a 'second home' in the form of an igloo would be too much of a hassle. Then he comments on wanting to live off of what nature provides him and yet he's scavenging trashbins for leftovers in cutscenes... He says hes happy living on his own but yet he sticks around in town events and sh*t Like dude do you want to become a part of the community and follow the "unspoken rules of civilization and etiquette" or not, make up your mind He's nothing but kind to the player which is great but i feel his characterization is a bit all over the place

She wasn't originally a marriage candidate. All of the Clint hate is unjustified when you realize Clint's story was about being in love with Emily long before you as the player could marry her. Concernedape screwed up not Clint.

Except magic is real in SDV. Crystals have magic in them. Even the Junimos love crystals according to that one book. Emily has already displayed psychic abilities and the ability to communicate to parrots by that point. Why do people hate her again?

Clint is fine and just a socially awkward guy who seems like he migbt be autistic tbh. Pierre I don't like that he sells your products as his own without saying he got it from you at all but it isnt the worst thing. Lewis genuinely seems to suck, he doesn't have to have marnie as a secret and the statue made of gold is incredibly questionable. He could of done something about joja mart actively selling bad products for low prices and being a shady business but he just doesn't probably because it brings in money. The worst of all tho is arguably just the joja guy (cant remember his name) he actively goes out of his way to harm people and the towns local buissness while making his workers suffer. He doesn't care about how his products affect the health of his customers. Hes literally a villain. How some people hate clint so much is beyong me, it's like they're projecting their self hatred onto him cause he doesn't do anything bad. He just doesnt know how to talk to his crush and Concerned Ape forgot to edit his dialog for when you marry emily. (Concerned Ape has overlooked lots of dialog stuff so clint is no different, emily wasn't supposed to be a marriage candidate originally.)

Never thought I'd defend Clint, but you're so real for that. Worse, he isn't the only victim of projection in the game. Emily is usually disliked because she reminds people of antivaxxers and toxic hippies, even though she has done nothing close to being as bad. Heck, she's one of the best people in the town morally. It's all really disheartening tbh

Surprisingly a lot of characters in Stardew get hate for silly meme reasons. Clint is (extremely) socially awkward, Emily is not afraid to be different and true to herself and Demetrius is heavily implied to be autistic which explains his no-nonsense and "100% logic" mentality. I really like how deeply thought out all characters are in this game. It's a shame memes ruined some of them and over-glorified others (looking at you Robin)

Robin literally calls your place trash in order for you to give her money for repairs/upgrades, also she doesn't really treat her husband very respectfully. Implied in many cutscenes that she does not respect or understand his passion for his work even though she's probably just as passionate about her own work. Her green rain dialogue covers that very well
