We need a capital ship dlc

The Diemos Largest cockpit(shown in second ship) is my favorite, it really makes me feel like I'm on a command ship, love it.

This is definitely more what I’m aiming for, I like the idea of a big ship with a big crew.

It would be sweet if there was an action house where you could buy other creators’ ships and they get all the credits that it sells for. I’d love to buy these ships and it would be fun to make a business out of it to make credits.

Would love to see builds for characters that aren't specced into Piloting and Starship Design. Like an explorer or outpost industrialist. What kind of ship would they fly with those limitations?

Build limit is 80 metres, the number you see on the floor is from a central point so you build 40 m forward and 40 m backward of that central point

Cool stuff. I find it pretty annoying to judge ship parts in the in-game menu, I've been focusing on maintaining 100 mobility, decent cargo space and the highest possible speed. Also I have not gone back to class A or B weapons since I unlocked class C reactors, but I wonder if it's really optimal to do so, feeling-wise the smaller ships feel a lot better imo, and it's also kinda pointless to have all these Habs full of static objects that noone ever uses for anything. I really hope mods/DLC can give us more to do aboard our ships, nothing ever really happens there.

Shipbuilding is the thing I like most about Starfield. For years, I was hoping and dreaming of Hello Games adding something like this to No Man's Sky. They still may. Probably saving it for when player count starts to drop significantly. But until then, Starfield is my dream come true.

I'd love to see what can be done with a class A limitation. Maybe a surveyor/explorer's ship? 2 crew members max. Sensible cargo hold. Long grav jumps. That sort of thing.

The second one looks really great, has the feel of a boarding craft, coming full speed onto another ship before those breaking trusters start firing up, ramming that docking port into the other ship.

I'm still in my first play through with 48 hrs. I favor mid size ship with speed and shield over hull health. I only played on hardest and been in the green to orange systems for ship battles. This video is making me rethink creating a larger build to go against the Camulus class size ships.

I wanna see the outpost have more function in the sense that could potentially feed into in the massive effort of constructing star stations, with star stations feeding into star yards, with star yards feeding into Flagship creation etc. Your vision with how they would work is EXACTLY how I envision them to be as well. I understand why Bethesda went with the 40m size limits but its such a tease at the same time. Especially when we actively fight ships of this size in the game.

Good videos. Thanks for the nice content. FYI. You are not alone in stating this and there are various folks online also propagating this in saying how small 'in meters' these ships are. They are not Star Wars huge or Battlestar huge but these ships are very large. In lore ships larger than 80m have too much mass to land with the landing thrusters. Some hand wavium but makes relative sense. One thing though in your ship builds you keep stating only 50% of the total length. In the ship building it gives you the length in all 4 directions from the center. So in the case for these large ships the dimension limits are 80m (+40 and -40). Note: There is also a global configuration to allow larger ships.

The nova galactic cockpit with stairs is by far the best in game as I hate ladders, please do yourself a service and try it.

I love these Muppets. the way they tell the lore in great detail. starfield is good but the way elder scrolls is told its like they been there. my favourites are the Daedric Princes... Azura how someone tried deceiving her and they lived to regret it if only for a short time. meridia... banished for visiting oblivion. and my favourite the crying night and return of Ysgramor an the great 500. the tombs they tell help me sleep

I made a pretty decent looking Deimos warship that feels like it would have been a support frigate alongside the Vigilance. Basically the phalanx’s slightly beefier brother.

I think "Corvette" fits the size we can make at the moment. It's the smallest class of battleship, and was 12 to 18 m when first introduced as sailing vessels, and in modern times are generally 55-128 m, so going for the midpoint between those sizes seems just right for what we've got.

Made a ship with massive hole in the middle. Weapons all the way through. Looks pretty dumb but it works to well. Called it the deathgap.

My "tiny" ship maybe doesn't fit this category because of its low mobility, but I don't really care about mobility since autoturrets do all the work. It's actually a smuggler ship with +6k hidden cargo and +8k total cargo on a 23m length and 18m width ship. 2 height but actually just 1 hab (hope tech armoury, because of the bed and wc). Sadly it's on the expensive side of ship building, costing more than 800k credits. And needs some glitching to make it beautiful, it's a bit painful to build it I really love small ships, far more than warships. Glad I found a vid about tiny ships after a hundred of them about huge and boring warships. Great vid

You guys should do some kind of viewer submission video where you can do like “our favorite viewer ships”

The part at 8:54 got really frustrating because I'm trying to follow this video in-game, but you basically have to add pieces connection-by-connection. It's really easy to get lost if you guys are skipping spaces ahead and then going back to fill in the blanks. With the third layer especially I was so confused because it had double-layer pieces but you never mentioned anything about how they connected.

I’ve built a few monsters so far, however I am personally waiting for some mods before I go ape. In my head I have something envisioned that 1x2 habs get lost in the design, I have enough power generation to light up New Atlantis, 40 auto turrets and enough missiles to reshape continental profiles. Then after the game crashes, I can reload and do it all again.

🙂the big star ships C class are big with lots of armaments and carries troops from a bigger mother ship in orbit to the planets surface.

I love your builds. Ever since the last patch and the removal of the $ glitches I have not been able to build any exotic ships anymore. Do you know of any big money glitches or short cuts? I want to build the battle barge.

Very nice. I'm curious about your weapon choices. Given current states, I find it hard to pick anything that isn't a plasma weapon. I usually run 4 PBO-300 Turrets to the rear (I hate giving them a free shot) with power set very low (1-2) since they have reasonable size magazines and can usually recharge some while I'm maneuvering. Then I run 4 PB-175 Auto Helion Beams at full to minimize the recharge time. And a pair of Obliterator 250MeV Alpha Turrets at full - facing forward. Is basically the same mix although leveled down for my class B ships, the class A just runs Vangards & Disruptor 3310s This got me thinking that having a single long range weapon and then not worrying about range for the remainder is a pretty valid way to go. Once you get into the thick of it, ships are rarely more then 1500 KM away, and often closer. The On the Barge, you have: 4 PBO-300 Auto Turrets (Power 3, Rage 3000, 25 Round Magazine with a 7 second recharge at full power). 2 KE-42 ballistic canons (Power 4, Range 1500, No Magazine - requires 8 power to run at full DPS) 2 MKE-9A Auto Gauss Gun (Power 4, Range 1250, 40 Round Mag, 6.5 second reload at full power) It seems like you'd want to run Shields at max (12) KE-42 max (8) and probably run the PBO-300 at max (12) and then run the MKE-9A run at what ever you've got left - depending on how you're running your engines. I'd probably run engines at Max and let the Magazine size and limited firing arc of the MKE-9A handle itself. So 1 power there (minimum) maybe pull one from engines and assume you have Vasco & Sam which would give you a total of 42 power to play with if you have ANeutronic Fusion-4 you've got something like 47 points to play with - which helps

I've seen quite a few people make attempts. I think you should also try making some Star Wars ships and shows how to build them personally I would challenge you to see if you could make a B wing

Really wanted these but gave up as not all parts are in the same place and had to keep restarting just to find them. Would have been nice to know which parts to get first before starting the build

I love ship building but man does it get expensive. At least when you max out ship design. My ship is called the turtle and it's around 400k so far and I still have a lot to do. Uses the nova big bridge which lets me have two floors and the only latter is for the docker which might change in the future. Only have just put some storage on it last night and now it has 10k storage. Still only have 1 full set of weapons and still don't have any of my best engines lol.

@FudgeMuppet These ships are amazing! I am excited to try them. What FOV are you using to see so much space around them? Any time I build a larger ship, my third person view is about 50% blocked (entire lower half!).

so is there a way to like. buy parts thatll go into an "inventory" so when youi want to construct a ship with different company parts you have them available?

Just did a ship with the docker right in front of the pilot seat so when your docked you see the station out the windows. Plus you have to hit reverse when you undock.

Do you ever put cannons or turrets on the back to keep them locking on. The bounty hunter ship i used turrets all around besides the one em cannon. Its just so fast i just run circles around them firing at everything.

should take a peak at Ships from Battletech for inspiration. the Vincent , Lola Block I and 2, Narukami, Inazuma, Aegis, Congress, Suffren, Molinya and Riga all have an esthetic you might like.

For Galactica, are all the modules available from the outpost or does it require some travelling na purchasing? Also, where do you get Perthole - Aft from Nova Galactic, I can only see Porthole - Fore

Im curious if you can build a ship for explorers or scientist. Something with lots of windows and no ladders.

Any advice on how to increase mobility and speed on heavier ships? I'm a Class C pilot but my primary ship is slowler and less mobile than yours shown here despite being lighter, lol. Do I need to grind out all the ship perks for this?

Have you guys done any testing on if scan jammers, com spikes, or conduction grids stack? I have not been able to run down an answer online

you could be strapping a lot more dakka on these, you dont need to fully power guns, all it does is boost reload speed. using the rapid fire weapon variants with magazines means you can get max dps without powering them.

Suggestion for future build use the Nova Galactic Science Lab Hab, it has a Galley that the other Science Lab Habs don’t

Are these limits about usable structures (cockpit, have, engines) I was building a defiant type design ran into a length limit cockpit to engine. However when I brought the engine back 1 section and kept the cowl in place the length limit disappeared

Awesome ships! I just got my first one built using the mess hall and battle stations but its kind of ugly and doesnt have very good maneuverability. Will definitely be building a version of one of these at some point (if i ever get one of my characters ranked up and with enough money, have over 150 hours in already and haven't beaten the main story yet just started a new character playing a different style)

I've always wondered why people put their cockpit on top. The spot you can see the least from. From a planet hopping ship perspective. In space there is no up or down, but the thing you do most is land and take off. It would be way more practical to have the pilot be able to see where they are going.

I truly get Star Trek feels running about the stars in my capital ship. It's my player home. I do hope to see those mods for larger ships that require a shuttles to get planet side, eventually paving the way for a carrier of one's small fighters. What I think is more sorely needed is the ability to assign work stations and cycles to crew, and more design options both in and outside the ships. So many useless containers and stations. Why am I the only one ever on the bridge when we jump?

where did you build this because I cant find the parts I need even though I have maxxed the perks I am around Lvl 30 if thats the problem but how did you get stroud-eklund, Deimos, and hopeland parts on the same ship

What perks do you need to build a large ship like this. Whenever i try i get its to big, ship massive, too many weapons, too much power to engines, to massive etc. And my mobility and speed just plummets, how do you get them to this size.

Fully companion crewed exploration and science based ship next? One that can hold it's own long enough to escape if need be?

What I would really like is - in addition to a Home ship (or mother ship), you could assign a secondary ship (daughter ship?). The problem as it is right now, is when you transition from your huge cargo ship to your tiny fighter (and have to make that your Home ship), is that you end up with 5000/200 kg of cargo, including all the decoration items on your cargo ship. If you could have a secondary ship with its own cargo, it would make things much more convenient. Thoughts?

Following modern naval doctrine these ships are clasified as Frigates or Corvette's.

I can't really explain it but my home ship is modeled after the triangular UAPs from XFiles.
