Welcome to Skypodcast Episode 1! The Starfield trailer just dropped and pardon the podcast format, but we wanted an excuse to talk about it for a while. In this video we're discussing roleplay potential for Starfield, in addition to a Starfield Wishlist - where we share things that we REALLY WANT TO SEE in this game. We'll include timestamps if you want to skip the fluff :)

I like that the Starfield vibe is more of an "Interstellar" or "Martian" type sci-fi, which you dont see nowadays. Still, Todd is known for his sweet little lies so I wont believe it till I see it.

As a warframe player, I would love to experience the other side of the coin and something that I wish for is like the option of being like a non crafting character and the "crafting like" npc can actually upgrade your gear, not to the best but at some level. Like if in skyrim the blacksmith s could upgrade your gear depending on the material and can offer you like exquisite level at max, something like that. With that out of the way, I liked your skypodcasts and hoping for more. You are amazing guys.

I believe Todd confirmed Aliens will be in Starfield. That will provide a but more variety, especially if they're playable. Also, that was Morrowind with the killable quest characters, not Oblivion. Oblivion actually introduced the essential status for NPCs. Great video, and I really would enjoy more Skypodcasts, as your voices are very relaxing for some reason, contrary to the amped up voices Fudgemuppet has.

Ahhh you're totally right about Morrowind! Our bad, thanks for the correction. And hey thanks!! We'll definitely make some more videos in this format in the future - in addition to our normal builds of course :)

@@Skypothesis There's a few more things I've been meaning to ask/say but have forgotten, so I'm just going to cram them into this one comment and number them to make them easier to respond to. 1. Your thumbnails for Builds are amazing! I love consistent styles. When you get around to Fallout 4 Builds, are you going to use a new font? The current font for Skyrim Builds is very fantasy-like, and fits it, but I think a more modern/futuristic font would fit FO4 Builds. Weird thing to mention, I know, but thumbnails are one of my favourite parts of a build. 2. I found this channel by searching "Skyrim Builds", and sorting by most recent. I've been doing this for the past 3 or 4 months. I want to see whenever ANYONE posts a Skyrim Build, because I may or may not be addicted to them. I always knew Fudgemuppet had Builds, but didn't realize how may other channels have Builds as well but have been overshadowed by them. Around 20 or so channels I've found make Skyrim Builds, and some are really great hidden gems. Just felt like sharing the story of how I found this channel, lol. I think that's it. I thought there was more I wanted to say. Who knows. I'll probably remember as soon as I post this comment, lol.

@@HappyHippo2002 Well we're glad you found us. Are you a member of the Sky Forge forums by chance? We posted our first fallout build there as kindof an experiment. A potential thumbnail is used so let us know what you think! I'd link it but you have to be a member to view the fallout forum.

@@Skypothesis Just checked it out. 10/10. Absolutely amazing. Thumbnail is perfection, and the build itself is very creative. I knew you guys were planning on making FO4 Builds, and that excited me, but now I realize that Skypothesis is making FO4 Builds, not just anyone. I'm incredibly hyped. Fallout 4 Builds - Season 1 after this Skyrim Build Season ends perhaps? I can only dream...

Weird this channel isn’t more popular. I really like the vanilla builds series! Do you guys have any plans on doing New Vegas builds? I saw you were planning on FO4 builds (I think?)

Hey Guys! Absolutely love the podcast format and I'd encourage you to explore this format further. Like you, Im a 90's kid. I played a lot of PnP rpgs and Morrowind was my first TES game, so having that freedom when role-playing is really important to me, which is why Betheda rpg's really strike a chord. I'm extremely excited for Starfield, especially if they stick to a more grounded format. There's a place for Science Fantasy (Star Wars, Dune, etc) but we've had plenty of that. I get the impression from watching interviews with Todd Howard pre and post Microsoft acquisition that a great weight has been lifted, and Bethesda's focus is back on making great gaming experiences and less on inflating their financial statements to make Zenimax more attractive to buyers. I genuinely feel badly for Howard; I think he took a lot of flak for decisions being made above his paygrade by Zenimax Management-but thats a different topic. Really looking forward to more Skypothesis content, gentlemen-cheers!

My wish list is... Co-Op (NOT MASSIVELY MULTIPLAYER) If you could very easily play this game single player but just had the choice if you wanted to play with a few friends that’d be awesome Super excited for starfield, I can’t wait

Yo cool starting to branch out into different video formats. Definitely keep up the builds but these podcasts and maybe even character creation race menu guides for the builds to get the right vibes down also just gameplay videos even this is all up to you guys no pressure at all you can even keep to this alone or just builds and that’d be awesome either way Sky gang 🤘🏼

I'm looking forward to it as well. I do think that if we have quest NPCs that can be killed said NPCs, especially for the more important quests, have a sense of self preservation. In Skyrim if you didn't have the mod Run For Your Lives, or something similar, it wasn't unusual for NPCs to try and fight vampires or dragons when they're ill equipped to do so. We don't need NPCs for important quests that do Starfield's equivalent to that.

it clearly has some inspiration in Space Engineers, which a very grounded sci fi, in the trailer there are assets that seem directly from Space Engineers. and if you like roleplaying, then i really recommend to check what youtuber getbrocked is doing in the roleplaying sci fi with Space Engineers, in his series called outlands

I love Bethesda Game Studios games, and I love space games. I'm also very much a lover of grounded science fiction. Mass Effect is about as far as I'll go with space magicians. But there definitely are games that look similar to this like Elite Dangerous and especially Star Citizen. In fact, some of the ships from Star Citizen were used as inspiration by the artists working on Starfield (Aegis Hammerhead and Mercury Star Runner). And that has me very excited. Star Citizen and Elite Dangerous are certainly not singleplayer roleplaying games. But I would love to experience a BGS Maryland-style game with the stick and throttle space flight, ground vehicles and EVA found in games like those. That would be my dream game.

I'm not that interested in space stuff, but I like Outer Worlds and I love Bethesda games, and I'm hyped for this one because Todd "The boi" Howard said that the technology jump is bigger than Morrowind->Oblivion. I can't wait to play this game. This one and tes 6 is possibly kind of a love letter from Todd before retiring (I dont think hes gonna continue to be a major Bethesda figure in 10-15 years).

Well im always like Bethesda way of RPG , no matter how much hate the hardcore RPG bloke have, i still prefer Bethesda freedom than any others Hope this is about Exploration where Bethesda is the king, i like their Fallout 3 more than Obsidian Fallout New Vegas thank to exploration alone Let hope this isnt anything like No Man Sky (the redemption version) cause it is kinda boring with anything Lets hope it is Bethesda style RPG with a load of exploration and freedom Oh and i hate The Outer World, it feel like a weaker New Vegas

Nice Talk. Ps.As much I hate Mass Effect games , I will love Starfield.It looks unique , and special.Its going to be beautiful and special game.Forget about Fallout 76.

A wait to go yet so I hope Bathesda have pulled it together. I'm not sure if I like any particular genre of SciFi but I look for something I might want do in real life if there was an alternate universe I could go to. I must say I liked the millnium falfcon vibe; grubby and oily and things breaking down. There are parts of starwars I'm not the fan of this aspect calls to my own down to earth; fixing engines and having a beer thing. Bumping into hitchhikers needing a ride; avoiding authorities; reluctant or anti hero kind of thing. I'm hoping the game has something like that
