To my understanding, the vacuum of space doesn't support sound but energy waves caused by anything can still produce audio as a way of expelling energy when the wave comes in contact with things. Thanks genX :D

I'm guilty of giving scores out of 10 too, but I'm actively changing that as I feel that scale has lost it's weight to really giving a game value.

Large AAA titles I find it hard to give overall scores. I would put the overall review into "tiers" while individual aspects I would put scores too

The thing about Star Citizen, as ambitious as it as with all the greatness that could be, it's been in development for longer than a decade and it's heavily monetized. Sure, it's to help with development costs but at what point is it enough? The game has cost more than many of the largest triple A projects put together and it isn't released yet. It may be similar to Starfield in goals and ideas, but due to the dev cycle and cost it simply isn't comparable. At this point, Starfield is in a league of its own with its ambition that doesn't really seem will ever be met and even if it is, I'm so turned off by all of this that I'll likely never touch it anyway.

@@theJOSHfeed all this is valid :P i do have my fair share of complaints about SC, as well as anyone would. but even in its current stage facing all the bugs, crashes and such. there is still nothing like the ability to seamlessly travel without restrictions. for me at least thats the key to exploration. sure finding things is cool and all, but idk being restricted hurts the fun for me. I will still enjoy SF to the fullest i can. but there is still that disappointment lingering due to loading screens.

I dunno, I think stability and performance are a good trade to the idea of seamlessness in a game like this. I handled the loading screens in all the Elder Scrolls and Fallout games just fine and for some reason people call those games seamless but not Starfield. Starfield loads faster than previous games and you can skip a lot of animations by directly choosing things from the star map, I'm fine with it. To each their own of course, I just think a more grounded approach is good here.

I play at 1440p. My monitor doesn't support 4k otherwise I'd be doing that.

It has the same pacing as previous Bethesda games. You play the introduction, make your character, and within minutes from there you're able to do ANYTHING you want to do. I think maybe what you're watching is people choosing to play at a slower pace to learn the game, which is normal. I promise it isn't as tedious as you may think.

Think everyone is space is deaf because you could have something explode very close to you and it wouldn't do anything. No sound at all. Sounds are vibrations which requires air. No air in space you will hear nothing.. so the game is just being Hollywood.

My monitor supports all the way up to 3840x2160, including 21:9 aspect ratios. It should support higher variants of that, but considering it automatically detects these capable resolutions it's something I don't see higher than that right now.

Thanks for getting back to us so quickly@@theJOSHfeed. I'm on a G9 and hopefully the game will support that or at least give me a windowed 21:9 option. I don't mind black bars at the sides. Diablo 4 does a good job on the G9 so hopefully it will at least do something similar. Hopefully the 3090Ti will be able to push it all around ok 🖖

I don't know why you think that getting early access somehow changes my opinion on the game. I'm not going to lie about a damn video game my dude, there's nothing to gain from it. I enjoyed my experience and all of it is indeed a step up from earlier Bethesda games. Sorry you can't handle that.

I'm just a nobody on the internet with a point of view. And there is no question that I have spend COUNTLESS hours playing the Fallout games so some might view me as a fanboy. But, from what I could gather and we both know I am not alone considering the game to be shallow. Did you really feel the RPG element of the game had any depth? Character progression? The combat? We seriously cant expect better combat? Other then "melee feels a little better"? The Jetpack does not make that experience any better either to be fair. Space exploration? You cant even orbit the planet you're on. You and me both know its a lot of wasteland with NO content. Yeah, we have both seen the videos where someone runs for 10 mins and didn't see a thing. I think that Red Dead Redemption 2 is a testament to what a game that's been in development for 10 years should be like. Individual NPCs with their own lives, and daily affairs. And I haven't even played Red for too long but I sure know its a game worth its money. I urge you to reconsider the review.. It will make you look like an absolute fool I think with the lack of critical thinking and demands for the future of games quality on release.

@blakkelure Yeah I'm not going to justify my thoughts to you, that's just weird. I'm having a good time playing the game. We don't agree and that's okay, but you shouldn't go around demanding others to change their thoughts just because you don't agree. Be better.

@@theJOSHfeed That vastness is what's turning me off a bit. more often than not when a game is this vast, there is no clear cut way to really experience the game to its fullest. Do you focus on the main mission, should the side content be the focus. And usually vast games also take a while to "click" But I am looking forward to the stream later today

Surely it's not going to be for everyone. I look at it like this: having the choice to pursue the things I want to pursue are what make games like this great. Sure, there's the main story but I can also take time to just go look at other things whenever I want, even focus on it more than main story. It's not quite limitless, but the freedom to take on the aspects that you want to most is awesome.

I'd love for it to be on PS5 as well, but considering Bethesda has been owned by Xbox for a few years now I'm pretty sure they canned any possibility of PS5 release. Similar to how there is so many exclusives on PS5.

This is a bad take, I mention downsides several times. I mention something about the combat I didn't like at all, and I cover the downside of hitting walls in exploration. I give silver linings and different perspectives to adjust to the downsides. Just because I don't spew hatred nonstop, that makes me unreliable? You didn't pay attention and only came in looking to hate.

He stayed positive for sure, but at 10:32 he spent a couple minutes talking about bugs and jank.

Well, No Man's Sky doesn't have the stories that this game has so I'd say it's No Man's Sky lite with Mass Effect exploration and classic Bethesda storytelling
