Starfield VR is COMING! This is Why!

Bethesda put a huge section of VR in the EULA for Starfield. A section that does not exist for Redfall or other recent Bethesda games. This is a very valuable indication, that the VR version of Starfield is in the making, is possible.
Compare and search for VR in both EULAs:

Disclamer : I real would like this game to get official VR, But.... -The wording in the EULA is also in other non VR games from Bethesda ("Death loop" and "Ghostwire" for exemple, and it's obliviously a copy paste !) -Since SkyrimVR and FalloutVR, Bethesda was acquired by Microsoft, and they quite abandoned any VR/AR dev so far (and fire all the teams), Microsoft don't care, and the best exemple is how they released Flight simulator without VR in mind at all (remember the news back then) -The lead at Xbox said again lately that they don't care at all about vr (They abandoned WMR and Hololens standard last year, without any plans to replace it) I would like to be false, but believe me, it's not coming by any official way (i mean not from Microsoft or Bethesda).

I can assure you, you are not correct. I know it is coming since I know someone that tested it already and this person blown by the quality (its not me). I cannot say more, therefore the hint with the EULA.

About Starfield... don't want to sound salty but... Before they think about adding VR they should focus on improving the game. Starfield as for now is poorly optimized, don't have HRD and poor SDR, NPC are soulless and full of bugs, if you gaming on Oled monitors colors looks very bad and is it loading screen simulator. Also it is space game but you can't do much in space and don't have freedom on planets with their invisible walls. We can't land ourselves on the planet because planet space is a small square with walls. Everything is fast travel or loading screen. I was really looking forward to play it, but they didn't deliver on their promises, and game is like typical Bethesda game, full of bugs and not optimized. Anyway thanks for the video :)

A month late but all Bethesda/ZeniMax games have this virtual reality thing in their Eula, even stuff like Elder Scrolls Online / Fallout 76 im pretty sure

checked, not all have it, however I do not exclude that others have. In this case I know someone that played the official VR version. I cant say more. :D But it is great.

while playing the game i noticed while bumping around things that drawers and other things have movement to them if you manage to make them open but they do indeed open which is a good sign for vr support whether official or un

The EULA is a copy pasted template that is meant to serve only to cover their asses on all fronts, although yes it would be very nice to get this game in vr for sure

Why it's coming to VR, because of $ ... It's obvious, people, Skyrim VR is still 60$ on Steam and it was released more then 5 years ago..

Although it's normal sale price is $60 it goes on sale multiple times a year for $20

Microsoft own Bethesda now, and Microsoft are not interested in VR at this time. They definitely will jump back onto VR at some point, but they are waiting to see how things go, waiting for VR to mature more before making another move. I think Bethesda have experimented with it in Starfield maybe, and they probably are considering this as a possible path in the future and leaving it open. But I doubt this means they have an actual concrete plan for such a release. I think at the very least this simply means they are anticipating a time in the future when Microsoft decides to get involved in VR and Starfield VR support is greenlit. My guess is they will eventually do it, because VR is going to get bigger and bigger and more ubiquitous regardless, however, we won't see official VR support any time soon. The market needs to grow. The next gen of VR headsets need to come through first, and then get more ubiquitous. This will take a few more years. Maybe in 3 years Microsoft gets back into VR, at which point Starfield VR support is greenlit, and we get an official release a year later. 4 years....pessimistic yes, but optimistic in that I believe it is only a matter of time - when, not if. My hope is set on a VR mod. Hopefully we get something working very soon - I imagine there's got to be people working on it right now, or at least planning to.

It really depends on where they plan to take any multiplayer development or DRM management. If there's no real leaderboard type of content coming then they will monitize VR markets, but otherwise, it will be 100% not a priority with M$. The main issue will be community response regarding performance, which Bethsoft doesn't seem very good at handling... particularly considering Howard's response regarding current performance metrics. "Upgrade your PC, this is next gen, blah blah blah."

Considering a 4090 can't run this game at a steady 60fps, I doubt any rig out there could run this game in VR. Microsoft also have stated multiple times that they don't care about VR so very unlikely. Modders however might be a different story.

my 4090 does. but this is no an indication for new vr HMD why will work a bit different that Index 1 and Quest 2 at the moment.

@@mrorangeyoutubeIf you can run it at 8k with 90fps then it will be fine in VR, but anything less will get them a lot of trash talking, thus making it less likely to get any studio or more importantly, publisher backing. Pretty much the same issue Star Citizen faces prioritizing official VR support. That said, with SkyrimVR being a stand alone example where they've made profit, I see this releasing as an inevitability.

explain to me why it matters what Microsoft cares about? other than Starfield being on game pass they have nothing to do with Bethesda. also running games in VR isn't as hardware intensive as you might think. unless you like me have a Pimax 4k. but any Oculus, Quest, or index will run it just fine due to the lower resolution. Besides that Bethesda has always been supporting VR... if I had to bet my money on VR or not id say 80% chance that Bethesda will release a Vr version of starfield at some point!

They've already got Creation Engine with VR support, they're surely just spreading out releases to maximize profits. For them its basically flipping a switch, outside optimizing and identifying then crushing bugs unique to the gameworld. Much like Skyrim, I expect a hundred releases of Starfield. That said, performance in Creation Engine VR is pretty abysmal. I imagine anything short or an RTX 39xx + will be nearly unenjoyable.

Fallout 4 VR runs great, also on older GPUs like the 980TI / TITAN maxwell where I played. 3900 will be a good start. 4090 even better.
