He's also a fighter pilot in the airforce, and the Dart's controls are designed for the lowest (read: dumbest) echelon of Wraith society.

the stargate "books" are the worst fanfiction i have read in my whole life. He somehow stole the Dart without any knowlege how it works or the genes to use it. Of course the Travelers found a single crashed guy on a planet in time. Of Course the Doctor of the Travelers was a Wraith worshipper (that alone leads to so many more questions) and because of that they know how to treat his withdrawal (because wraith worshippers are known for there anti-wraith knowlege and plans) and of course it ends in a happy end somehow.

@@TheTSense How would a Traveler even be a wraith worshipper? The only reason they survive is because they have decent speed ships so they avoid the wraith by running away and staying in space 99.9% of the time. They would almost never be culled.

Different Wraith colonies didn't trust each other very much. It's comparable to the cold war just that they occasionally work together if it's nessesary (for example fighting high developed races)

Different hives are rivals to each other, the same way the Goa'uld system lords are also rivals to each other. They might temporarily put aside their rivalry to face a common threat. Earth and Atlantis survived as long as they did in the face of such overwhelming force, partly because they know how to play the rivalry of the wraith and goa'uld against teach other.

Maybe they're made of paper, but here is something to think about too. Ever seen a Cylon Basestar?

They pretty much had no choice at that point when it looked like one hive decided to surprise attack them.

The organization depends on a single fraction being significantly more powerful than the others eliminating all doubt of who is in charge. In this situation that did not seem to be the case as both hives apparently considered betrayal by the other as likely enough to start shooting at each other without question.

Before they escaped and stole the dart, Sheppard was being interrogated and half-convinced them that the other hive wanted the feeding grounds to themselves. The weapons fires ended up selling the bit. It wasn't too long after where a more widespread Wraith civil war happened, so we know they were already close to a tipping point.

+Theri4444 Well the Legacy book series (which is an official continuation) continues the storyline and concludes it. The 6th book is basically one huge battle and the preparations for it. It features Atlantis, the Hammond (with SG-1 having come to help), the Genii (who found and repaired an Ancient ship though not a warship) and Todd's faction against a massive Wraith faction that's decimating the galaxy. The battle also takes place over the planet where the Wraith were first created by the Ancients. That's right: the Ancients created them. They were a science experiment gone wrong like the Asurans. The battle ends with Teyla killing the Wraith Queen who is responsible and them capturing the Wraith Commander responsible for her actions. He turns out to be the last remaining original Wraith. Has some really cool things in the books like Rodney transformed into a Wraith, some minor space battles. One has the Wraith send a hive ship and cruiser equipped with shields (Wraith Rodney) against Atlantis who sends out the Daedalus and the Hammond. A 302 pilot manages to take out the cruiser's life support and hole it, killing the crew (they later capture the ship for themselves) while the Daedalus and Hammond go toe to toe with the hive ship. The Hammond is nearly destroyed when Carter tries a suicide run but the Daedalus draws the hive's attention. Carter (the last of the crew) uses the last of the ship's power to fire the Hammond's railguns into the hive ship's damaged stern, destroying it. She'd have then died on the powerless ship but the Daedalus beamed her out. They later repair the Hammond while the Daedalus returns to Earth. Hammond later takes on another hive single-handedly to rescue McKay and does a hell of a job. They mention the hive loses half its weapons systems in the battle and takes significant damage. Hammond is hindered by the damage it took which they couldn't fully repair without going back to Earth. In the end Todd is able to rig the hive to blow and his hive rescues part of the team before fleeing along with the Hammond when reinforcements arrive. Neither ship is able to beam out Keller, Ronon and Rodney but Ronon gets them into an escape pod. McKay, while still a Wraith, has regained control of himself and is able to land them on a nearby planet that has a Stargate and they use that to return to Atlantis where Keller and Beckett get him back to normal.

+WarGrowlmon18 Personally, I don't think novelizations of TV series or movies ever really work. However "official" they might be, they always seem more like fan fiction, though perhaps a somewhat higher grade of fan fiction. One way or another, there is enough of a difference to justify keeping the two media distinct.

There was supposed to be a couple of films to finish atlantis off but they were cancelled. Most things involving stargate end up being cancelled for some reason or another. Many stargate games have never seen the light of day for various reasons as well.

eraldorh They did an INCREDIBLE book series instead. Seriously. And the movies were cancelled due to the recession.
