It doesn't need a reboot. Just continue the story. So many great stories and open endings to work with. I wish Hollywood would actually write stories instead of rewriting old stories. Make new material please!

Us Stragate fans don't want the bullshit modern scifi 8 episode each one is a blockbuster film budget mess. We want 22 modest budget eps a season using practical sets and effects with B-list actors that don't take themselves or the series too seriously. We want some standalone fun to talk about at work the next week. Bring back the 80s/90s campy scifi style that DEFINED A FREAKING GENRE. There's a reason shows like Stargate and X-Files lasted 10 seasons (hint: it wasn't the special effects or extra long episodes with blood and gore and tits). Jeeze. Hollywood is full of dumbasses. If Amazon wants to make something like The Expanse or Rings of Power and slap the Stargate franchise logo on it, they can keep it. If they want to make a character-driven, monster of the week, well-designed plot arcs, alternating fun and serious, practical set design, intelligently used special effects show for all ages to enjoy, then me and the rest of the fanbase will be here ready to cheer them on.

I DON’T want a reboot! I want a new series that continues after where the others left off. That’s what was originally promised to us fans.

Most of us don't want a reboot or remake at all! Stargate (1994), SG-1, SGA, SGU are unique pieces of gold. What we wish from the very deepest part of our hearts is the continuation Brad Wright had prepared until some Shol-va started to talk about a crazy reboot...

Expanding the rich universe would be much better than trying a reboot

Amazon needs to keep their filthy mitts far away from Stargate. We've seen what they did to LOTR. And keep JarJar Abrams even further away. Absolutely no reboot! We need a continuation of current canon. At a minimum, they need Joseph Mallozzi, Brad Wright, Robert Cooper, and Peter DeLuise.

To be honest, I want my memory erased so I can rewatch ALL of Stargate, it is by far the best show I've ever seen, from the movie Stargate 1994, to the Stargate Universe. I think I started somewhere in November 2021, and finished the series in March or April 2022, those days were by far one of the best.

We don't want a damn remake, we want another movie or series in the existing world. The existing world is amazing, and it would be such a disservice to erase the canon.

Why oh why oh why must everything be rebooted? Why can't they just pick up where they left off? I'm sick to the back teeth of reboots.

Universe was a slow start but I liked it. The end of season 2 was such a great moment to start something remarkable.

Someone needs to do an analysis for what made SG series good. For me it was the characters, the adventures to new worlds, the looming threat of an acient alien empire, the cool set designs, the aliens (always kinda wished for more of a star wars alien and tech universe or a Starship Andromida, then again maybe thats cuz i remember them being really good), the star trek inspired wrapups at the end of episodes, and stuff I can't even remember its been so long.

Reliable sources have already stated this is not going to be a reboot. For my reliable sources the working title that i've heard is SG1. The creative team that is almost certainly going to be doing. This has even talked about what they would do to save the destiny. This is going to be a sequel not even a soft reboot but a straight sequel

After what happened with Rings of Power I don't think that many people have much faith in Amazon properly rebooting/remaking Stargate in any form.

It can't be new since all the old fans became fans because they like how the old show was made. Its not Star Gate the has the instant audience, rather, the writers and the actors that make the franchise so appealing. I just hope the producers realize that. But I'm sure the won't. Too many producers nowadays think they know best for a show they know nothing about.

Whatever they do, it's mandatory they bring back Todd! SGA ended almost too abruptly, with Todd in the brig. I think that SG1 & SGA should be combined for an amazing new production.

I honestly wouldnt mind an animated reboot in CGI. Maybe have a few of the original cast voice their characters and let the animators get education from real military personel to acurrately emulate weapon handling, hand signals and everything else.

They should do a "Stargate Ancients" showing all about how the Ancients were on Earth and created the Star Gates and made the Atlantis station showing everything that lead up to them leaving Earth to survive while becoming the Ancients that ascended. I call dibs on the name "Stargate Ancients" as a Title as I said it first here.

Honestly they should start with movie with ancient humans making the gates or show the original villains from og when earth got rid of the gates and jump to modern day after the program was closed and the possibility with cgi and green screens and make up and guest appearances will be amazing

Yup. Continuation.. of ALL Stargate series. I think Stargate Universe ended prematurely. If they switched the focus, to "tie-in" ALL of the series... In 1 series... They would have a LOT of material! But they can SURELY continue each series separately. Team SG1... Atlantis and Universe

I'm looking forward to this! SG1 was my favorite scifi show, even more than StarTrek. Instead of doing a remake they should make a sequel, and with much of the same cast plus a few more A-listers.

Reboot!? Continue where the series left off. Ample time has passed to make new original stories that are connected to the existing ones. Respect the work and dedication that has already been put in by the actors, writers, directors and everyone else involved! You have the chance to attract the old "crowd" and new viewers who will be more interested with an extant dedicated fanbase. If it turns out to be a reboot and is anywhere close to the "quality" of Rings of Power, i sure as hell won't be watching. If however an old promise from a decade ago is fulfilled and the original show and it's spin-offs are respected, i will fully endorse this show. I will remain cautiously optimistic but the time of straight up hope has long since passed.

Reboot would suck majorly. Just continue with the franchise with a new SG team on a whole new adventure. The SG universe is vast and so open for more delving. Also, there’s already a lot of bad franchises out there that could do with reboots, stop rebooting classics as nostalgia bait.

Amazon cancels good stuff left and right. Even if they bring a series back it will get cancelled 1 season in.

Low Ratings did NOT kill SGU, MGM going bankrupt did. Why does just about everyone get this wrong? Season 2 of SGU was making a solid comeback for the series. It's main struggle being the transition from TV to Digital/Streaming.

There is no way that I would want ANY of those creative companies linked to a Stargate revival (or reboot) JJ Abraham pretty much totaled both Startrek and Starwars, there is no way I want him on Gate ether, that would be all of my favorite scifi shows totalled by him. Nor would I want the people from the Expanse of The Boys on this show. Amazon needs to take a look at why SG1 and SGA ran for over 15 years. It was a bit on the quarky side, a bit serious but not so much so that it couldn't have fun every so often and have it feel out of place. Sure this was a military outfit, but these were the sort of Marines which you would see the Battlestar Galactica reboot. There were repurpose soap opera characters like on that show. They were real people with real issues that handled them both as professionals and people. They were still US Airforce officers which still being human at the end of the day. If they redo this show (which they should just restart it, it wouldn't be that hard to do so but find a way to do it while bringing in a new audience) they should keep the performances of Richard D. Anderson in mind along with the other stars. When SGA went the BSG reboot way, it lost half its viewers and SGU couldn't hold an audience ether. Besides there are too many of those morbid shows on TV today. Let's have a show which actually works, that is fun, but can be series, but also knows when to laugh at itself (the time loop episode anyone?).

I'm not interested. Without the Characters: Sam, Jack, Daniel, Teal'c and Hammond, it will lack any consistency. I wasn't much of a fan of such space series like Star Track, etc. What drew me to such sci-fi scenario as SG-1 were the characters, the Jack/Sam relationship and the P-90 automatic weapons and the firefights they encountered in their off-world escapades. I'm former military from the Vietnam era. We could have used those P-90s in Vietnam.

Every city throughout history has internal manufacturing to accommodate the advancements that they developed. The idea that Atlantis didn't make their own ZPM's in their city never made sense. What power source store were they expected to visit every time they needed to replace their power supplies. Such a big& advanced city, and yet there was no way for these super advanced people to manufacture the most basic and essential need to survive .? Never made sense. Perhaps they had a super Home Depot Energy Supply Store.!

A solid prequel would be great. It could be a short series about the first jaffa rebellion and the rise and downfall of a jaffa, possible first prime of a well known goa‘uld in the late half of the 2nd goa’uld dynasty.

I miss Stargate, but I don't want to see it rebooted. The show had a rich life that would just get confused and possibly cheapened by starting over from the beginning and making it different. As an alternative, can somebody finally make that Independence Day show? THAT's the real Stargate-like show we need.

There was also the animated version of Stargate(Infinity I think?)that never had a conclusion. There is somrthing Amazon could look into that as a bridge-gap before rebooting.

I'd rather Stargate not coming back if it is gonna be some stupid modern "remake" or "fresh take" etc I want sequel with as many original writers and producers etc as possible or nothing. Amanda Tapping for example does producing and directing as well, so she wouldnt have to star in the series but I would feel much better if she was at least involved in the production process for example. It doesnt have to be carbon copy with the exact same cast, writers, directors etc, just as many people who have passion and vision for the project and ties to the original series in whatever roles they choose this time. And a bonus a direct sequel would be perfect, but a reasonable spin off would be fine too, just no remakes please for the love of god!
