It funny how they called Daniel a geek, even though he doesn't look like a geek anymore. The guys physically fit and has great muscular structure and a good stance. But in stargate and in so many films and TV if you wear glasses you are a geek, even if you look like you lift.

This was one of the most powerful technologies in the entire series. So what if they could only be used once? Just give them to a different person every time you have an impossible mission to tackle. It was stupid that these were just never used again.

The show literally brings up and picks on this as a meta joke at least three more times throughout it's run. The writers definitely didn't forget, and you can tell it bugged them to keep bringing it up. Not as much as the "Reproductive organs" line though. That gets ripped on at LEAST four times.

@@telavivjake Trying to remember the exact instances, but it's usually just Carter throwing out a "Like those upgrade devices we found!" comment, referencing the episode. However they are the basis for a gag sequence in that 200 episode, that one I definitely remember. I'm pretty sure they point out they could have just passed them to other people in that one, too.

@@telavivjake SG-1 are essentially the most trusted, loyal, reliable, and savvy little group of people in the entire organization. They've earned some allowance for their quirks. But these devices made them unreliable, unpredictable, uncontrollable, dangerous. All three test users ultimately ended up so reckless - and having the devices fail at bad moments - that they were nearly killed. And they're built with alien tech which is not understood, it could have other unanticipated dangers. Imagine how badly things could go if these were equipped (even once) on less dependable people.

I mean, you don't know, that could have been a hostile alien travelling along the mains line of the base in order to facilitate an invasion! I love this, these guys think that being muscular and outnumbering the human members of SG-1 is going to intimidate them, they really have no idea who they're messing with, because they've gone up against a greater number of a far superior species in terms of strength and size (the Jaffa) and still *WALKED* away from those fights.

It just occurred to me, they are inside of a military base essentially and I know they have a cafeteria, I’m sure that to do to this type of service they provide they must have 24 seven food preparation available to on-site staff, especially considering the gate is open 24 seven going off world etc., why didn’t they just go to the cafeteria to eat whatever they want there. Of course I’m sure O’Malleys has better food :-)

Typically, places like that tend to get a massive boom in business after such an appearance. Mickeys Diner is an example of that, the place is packed almoat every time I've been there

@@Tank50us well the actual place is called Horizons Restaurant. It's in Vancouver. Usually when they film a place the name will be changed. Though there is an O'malley's Irish Pub there to just not that place.
