Also, I'm pretty sure the song that plays while the player fights Wolf O'Donnell is the same song that plays in the 1st level of Star Fox Assault. I don't think I've heard the original song in any other Star Fox game except Star Fox Assault. Didn't think Ubisoft would acknowledge that game's existence. :D

I especially liked Peppy and Pigma's rivalry. The two of them clearly hate each other with Peppy wanting revenge on him for betraying Starfox to Andross and for getting James killed. Also, Peppy feels like it's his own fault too for not anticipating that Pigma would betray them and for not being able to save James from death.

God I loved playing Star Fox back then growing up as a kid. They seriously need to give Star Fox a brand new game

Problem: The story is good, and the game is mostly nice, but the game just gets weird when you completed it.

It seems alright, but I wish they'd push things forward again, like having Pigma be dead, and stay that way, along with bringing back Krystal to Fox's team and Panther to Wolf's.

Also, doing the final battle using only the Arwing's blasters makes it a challenge but a fun one in my opinion, and I did it on Hard Difficulty.

Hahaha, yeah, which is also the reason why I actually liked them getting kicked out before Assault. Pigma cannot be trusted and Andrew was only in because of at that time Star Wolf was working for Andross. Replacing them with Panther made the team look more credible and serious, plus I think Pigma works great as a standalone villain and Andrew is by deafult design Andross's sidekick. I only wonder why they never introduced a new female character as a new fourth member, like that would have been the obvious design route.

@@slimballs9650 I know but these would hardly be considered canon. Afaik Command is supposed to be the end of the Star Fox storyline and is followed by the reboot Zero, which means technically Crystal doesn't exist at all right now. They'll bring her back for sure though, she's been a trophy/spirit in Smash for too long now that they can just retcon her out of existence. Btw, I am a fan of the reboot, because, while I love the storytelling since Adventures, I think most of the games actually had nothing to do with Star Fox, Adventures was Dinosaur Planet, and Assault is the Star Trek version of the Star Wars parody concept used in Star Fox. Command takes great liberties in its design choices for the multi-path storytelling, giving players no feeling what's true and what not. A new series should focus more around fighting Andross and Fox finding his dad.

But didn't the first few games already focus on that aspect? You know, with Fox trying to find his dad and his team fighting the forces of Andross.

But since that game flopped so badly, it pretty much ruined the series' reputation at the time because everything about it was a complicated mess. I guess that's why Nintendo decided to reboot the series with Zero and why they chose to ignore everything else that came after 64. Krystal, Panther, the Aparoids, etc.

What we got is still very good if repetitive if you go for everything. That said, it’s a strangely addictive kind of repetition for me, and I don’t know why. I think this is better than Adventures and Command if nothing else.

@@Cousinbiddy1 ew- absolute disagree. I play Star Fox to shoot enemies down arcade style- not play a poor man’s Zelda game. The only 3D Zelda game Adventures isn’t worse than is Skyward Sword. It sounds to me like Star Fox simply isn’t the series for you, in which case, why bother playing this game to begin with?

Well those holes in it are similar to the hyperspace traps that the Legion and Outlaws use in game. Since Wolf was stealing Legion tech during the campaign, it would make sense how he made those, at least to me. After all, whenever the ship got caught in it, it acted like it would if it didn't slip through a hyperspace trap hole.

Between Starlink and Zero, Wolf's team does seem to be picking up a tendency to develop various "special attacks" for their ships, don't they?

@@thegreatestever913 You know, I thought an interstellar expedition like the crew of the Equinox would carry guns for crew protection. One cannot be too prepared for what the cosmos may throw at ya.

The Star Fox team has their Blasters as part of their standard equipment. It's just part of the uniform, and allows them to be combat-ready even if they end up on foot. They're mercenaries; soldiers. The rest... it's not unreasonable to assume they have weapons they can go and grab if they need them, but Star Fox are the only ones that just have them at the ready at all times. Most of the rest of them are explorers and researchers and scientists and the like. Hell, maybe the rest of them keep a sidearm in the cockpit or something.

There’s a world of difference between extreme cheese and “Yeah *long pause* Star Fox Team 1 *longer pause* bad guys, 0.” I had to click off the video as soon as Fox started talking during one of the space battles. He seems much better in the cutscenes, but god is his in game script terrible.
