Starlit Citadel Reviews Star Trek: Fleet Captains, with Kaja Sadowski and Joanna Gaskell. In Star Trek: Fleet Captains, players take control of either Klingon or Federation Fleets, exploring space, building outposts and completing missions in an attempt to assert influence in an unexplored sector of space. The size of this sector and the game's victory conditions are decided on by both players at the start of the game, and this in turn determines the game's length. Fleet Captains usually plays in 1-3 hours, and is playable by either 2 players, or 4 players working in teams of 2.

Thanks for the feedback! We're aware of both issues and will be working to catch them next time we film, though there will still be another 2 videos from this particularly hand-wavey batch going up in the next couple of weeks (we shoot 4 videos at a time).

Wow so many critiques. You ladies do a great job! The presentations are slick. You spend a lot of time producing these and it shows, and I'm grateful for them because it helps me to decide if I'd like a game or not. This is what the game manufacturers should strive for instead of just showing some abstract cartoon/movie in place of showing the actual game. I especially like the comments on the game detractors at the end. I'm drooling over that game store you shoot in. I wish I had one like that here.

The thing I really dislike about Tom Vassal is he does not really tell you what the game is about at the start of the video.. like how it plays or what you need to do to win. I find he randomly goes off on cards or smaller things about the game without giving you the overall larger picture here. I found this video to much more to the point and really lets the viewer know what the game is about and if they would be interested.

Without the hand gestures and other things you could end up looking like news readers. Don't worry about them. You never see Tom Vassal being knocked for his hand gestures or idiosyncracies or Marco for his rapid fire approach. And so what if you glance at prompting notes or take a moment to think. As it is you're engaging and informative, professional, approachable and likeable. It's a good combination and it works. Definatly a place for these reviews amongst the others.

Great review again! I bought this game as soon as I could get it in the UK, and I've been really disappointed by it. It's a long set up (and put-away after), the components are terrible, and cycling mission cards feels like a cheap route to success. Fun per pound/dollar is very low here compared with the other games you've reviewed so far. As for hand-waving, I've slightly fallen in love with Kaja's hands during these vids, and I think they underline and emphasise thespoken words. Don't stop!

He also always says how he doesn't explain in full how the game goes... he always does as he knows he is not concise in his explanation. How I interpret this is as follows: Tom is like a movie reviewer while these women are more like a tech demo. Both are handy as one is far more personal while the other is much handier. value them both for what htey are

This game look really great, but those flimsy paper components kinda turn me off to it. Maybe I will get it, if there is a new edition with better cardboard components

I lie your reviews a lot. Two small notes your eyes not tracking to the right ca,era and excessive hand motions are detracting from the quality. Otherwise keep up the great work!

my only complaint about this video is that the music is way too distracting. It needs to be turned off, or turned waaaay down.

Someone needs to to tie both your hands down. You aren't doing sign language so just to waving them around while talking. I'm aware how old this video is.
