reform need to scrap this Non-registered business and Registered business stuff , I'm a small business I pay full VAT on my stock because I'n not registered and do my own accounts as I am self-employed model I can;t claim any VAT back only the stock cost which means my prices are 15-20% profit margin plus the 20% VAT to recover what I Paid in VAT at the distribution level. it doesn't pay to be a start up that's why many shops go empty and people are now working out from home or a VAN. No business should be paying VAT under the Threshold and should only have to apply if they earn more than the threshold , its backwards still atm you'd think those earning under the threshold wouldn't be paying VAT anyway , only to go through the throws to reclaim the vat they shouldn't have paid in the first place. (our business tax system needs reform too not just increasing the threshold levels.)
