I love watching young people hearing what I grew up with. I'm 62. To see the tears and amazement on their faces is so satisfying. To experience what was normal in my youth and to hear how the world has changed. Those moments of speechlessness when the final symbols crashes and they return to their bodies are epic.

"This is not music" your 100% correct Starr. It transcends music, makes you feel the music, not just listen to it. Every time I hear this song I get goosebumps. If I've said it once I've said it 100 times, David Gilmour is the only person who can make the guitar actually sing. He doesn't play it, it becomes part of him. If only I could go back in time this would be on the top of my list. Check out 'Time', 'Wish you were here', 'Another brick in the wall', there's so many.

Beautiful reaction. I am turning 63 this year, and have been listening to old time rock and roll since the 70's, and I have never heard another band/group like Pink Floyd, don't think we ever will again either. I have seen them twice in concert, here in Montreal, and of the 30+ shows I have been to, nothing else compares, really. Just to let you know, the version of the video you just watched was the edited version. The UNCUT version is more than a minute longer, and it was all cut from the finale. The reason was that David Gilmour, the guitarist, thought he heard an "iffy" note, so edited it out. My thinking is that even with that note, which is not longer than a second or so, the other MINUTE and 4 or 5 seconds are still David Gilmour NOT playing 'iffy' notes and should be heard.

When you get THAT kind of emotional reaction from watching the band on a small screen and through headphones, IMAGINE what it was like to be THERE that night!! Surrounded by the amazing clarity of the sound. . . Sound that can punch you in the chest and make your bones vibrate. . Along with thousands and thousands of people around you, and they are all TRANSPORTED by the music, the same as you are. . . The lights. . the movement. . . Overloading all your senses. . . GLORIOUS! It would have been a once-in-a-lifetime experience that would have been amazing. . Some guitarists can play a milion notes a minute and are fantastic. . David Gilmour can play ONE note and creep into your soul with it. . .

@@DanFan2042 Same thing here. I was in my mid teens when this album came out. I wore the Iron oxide off the cassette. I was too young to appreciate it then, but now rapidly approaching 60, it hits way differently and much harder. I'm not a "music head" and don't spent a lot of time listening to music, but in the last year or so I've hit on these reaction channels and it's a hoot to watch these "babies" rocking out to the stuff we grew up with (and mostly took for granted). Music has changed so much since the '70s & '80s, and not for the better. I only discovered this video a few weeks ago, and am now obsessed with it. A few times a day I will watch the various reaction channels with this performance to see if they "get it". Some do and some don't. Those that don't I consider "dead" inside. This performance should also come with a disclaimer when it's requested: Resist the urge to close your eyes! I know the vibe of the song encourages you to close them to focus on the stream of mind altering sound, but with Floyd, the light show is the cherry on top. She totally missed the Ball/Flower drop b/c she had her eyes closed!

Great reaction. You are correct that you experience Pink Floyd, you don't listen to them. I seen them live on 3 different tours and all were incredible. People walking out after the show were speechless and just looking at each other as if to say... What did we just witness...?

Everything from this concert is that good, as it was from many of their earlier tours....... This was 1994 but Echoes live at Pompeii in 1972 is just as good. This song is about a real life pre concert event / sickness that the writer, Roger Waters , experienced. The album is about his own life from childhood up to when he wrote the songs....... disguised as being about a rock star named Pink. lol

One more soul following Pink Floyd deep inside herself. You just know when someone gets it and she did just that.

If anyone can hear this song, particularly watching this performance and not be emotionally moved I truly feel sorry for you. I read somewhere that David Gilmore was someone who had a hard time expressing his emotions and communicating his feelings when speaking with family and friends but put a guitar in his hands and he can make you feel anything and everything. It's like his soul speaking through the guitar and connecting personally with everyone listening. It's beautiful, sometimes painful but always an incredible experience. I watched a video of this performance with friends once who were Pink Floyd fans but hadn't seen anything from The Pulse. When it was over one of them said at the point the mirror ball began to open it sounded like the guitar was being tortured and crying out in pain but it was beautiful. Another said he thought it was more like all the suffering in the world was suddenly given a voice through his guitar. I don't think there is any perfect way to describe that part or the entire solo and I'm sure each person would give a different description anyway. That's the beauty of David Gilmore. His music makes a personal connection with each individual.
