This is simply amazing. Only TWO artist that I'm aware of from the 70's era rock scene who are still performing in 2021 and still singing in their original key and registrations, not missing a beat. That is Mickey Thomas (71) of Elvin Bishop - Starship, and Dennis DeYoung (74) of Styx fame. Both artist had solo offerings but are most associated with their respective groups. Most artist loose their high range abilities as they age but not Mickey or Dennis, both are hotter than ever and keeping their music from the 70's-80's alive for younger generations to experience. Such true inspirations to their craft.

FYI: Mickey originally sang background vocals in a gospel rock group entitled "Gideon and Power".....He basically learned almost every vocal "lick" from that group's leader, Gideon Daniels, who is no longer with us... One interesting note about Mickey....no matter how late we partied on the road....his voice never left him...I was always amazed at that.

71 Years Old. And still a pro. Sounding great! Some of the older greats have still got it - like Sammy Hagar. He's another one that can still do it. I think he's even a year or 2 older. And still killer. These guys sound great at this show. A lot of fun. Hey - Keep on rockin' if you can do it - right ?

He still has it! I’m genuinely impressed. I didn’t have high hopes for this when I saw it, but they’re all playing and singing great. Mickey must have worked hard on maintaining his voice. Wow!
