If you are interested in starting a garage gym with a focus in strongman then pay attention. The 5 items I discuss in the video are what I believe to be the essential 5 items to concentrate on.

Good video again, man. I have a home gym too, but it's basically DIY. Besides barbell and plates I have a wooden squat stance, a sledgehammer made with concrete and a doorway pullup/dip apparatus that I've made too. I love it and would never train in a normal gym

Great video.... I went with a strength shop yoke (I live in the uk). It was a lot cheaper coming with spotters. However I’m 6,2” and it’s too short to squat and press from.... very annoying, so be warned anyone considering it!

Thank you! I’ve seen some workarounds, but using a yoke isn’t always the best option. Just a barebones recommendation if you’re only buying 5 things

Kurtis Stadsvold ye I agree a yoke is the way to go! Manouverable, I do yoke presses yoke over head, stone platform, zercher walks, yoke squats..... it’s endless. So wish I had spent a little more and got a y2!

I had similar thoughts on a yoke for my garage and settled on a Texas Strength Systems combo yoke. I'm overall very happy with it; the finish and milling is nowhere near Rogue quality (the tubes are not milled inside so the crossmember scratches the uprights) but this is strongman not a beauty contest. The modularity (yoke, squat stands, frame, FW handles, car deadlift simulator, and sled in a pinch) is outstanding and it easily breaks down for very compact storage. I added some safeties for it and can bench, pin and axle press with it and I've also used an atlas stone trainer on a DIY'd wood platform across the safeties. It's bombproof and will handle more weight than I'll ever lift. Would encourage your viewers to consider them as another option. Good luck with your training and glad I found your channel!

Thanks for the comment and my apologies to Texas Strength Systems for not considering their yoke. I was unaware that they even made one, but it definitely seems like exactly what I describe with a versatile yoke. The Rogue one also scratches the uprights...just a FYI. haha. I think the Axl is on budget a better buy than log... Much cheaper and more versatile... Use the Axl for most pressing as it's far easier on elbow tendons Than a thinner bar...

On a budget I agree, but I still think the log is a better purchase because it offers a different grip option. Thanks for the comment.

A lot of the tokes I consider “better” are single purpose. A lot of times these are made by regional fabricators. MB PowerCenter, Texas Power Concepts, Musick Metal Works are a few I’ve dealt with in the past. There is a company in Kentucky called monster rings and cages that used to have some strongman equipment. Where are you located? I’ll see if I can help find one close to you

@@1kpjones If you are looking for a yoke that can also be a squat stand, I highly recommend the Rogue Y-2 or the titan clone.

For this recommendation I thought the yoke to be more flexible as it can act as a squat stand as well as a yoke. If only 5 things are being purchased it makes more sense in my head. Would you buy 5 different things?
