As creators, we often spend hours on end watching videos on how to get better at making videos rather than just making the videos.
I hope this video will give you some practical advice on how to overcome this.

I'm loving the raw content; I've just started my channel based on listening to your content. I had been contemplating what I wanted to do and found my own little niche. My channel mixes, my media arts and animation background with my current field computer science. Thanks, and peace.

"Preparing to do the thing isn't doing the thing. Scheduling time to do the thing isn't doing the thing. Making a to-do list for the thing isn't doing the thing. Telling people you're going to do the thing isn't doing the thing. Messaging friends who may or may not be doing the thing isn't doing the thing. Writing a banger tweet about how you're going to do the thing isn't doing the thing. Hating on yourself for not doing the thing isn't doing the thing. Hating on other people who have done the thing isn't doing the thing. Hating on the obstacles in the way of doing the thing isn't doing the thing. Fantasizing about all of the adoration you'll receive once you do the thing isn't doing the thing. Reading about how to do the thing isn't doing the thing. Reading about how other people did the thing isn't doing the thing. Reading this essay isn't doing the thing. The only thing that is doing the thing is doing the thing." -Strangest Loop

The key, to anything you do, is to **keep** enjoying it. Even when you don't know what you are doing. Learn to enjoy the journey, embrace the unknown, and find pleasure in the hiccups. Cooking, Designing, Woodwork, Writing, Exercise, Suduko, Gaming, Streaming, Content Creation, Haircutting, Make-up, Painting, Driving, Running, DJing, Speaking a new language, Moving to a new city, Kayaking, anything. Understand the privilege of getting to do those things. And enjoy doing them. Because if you enjoy it, you will keep doing it. And if you keep doing it, you will get better. Peace brother ✌

What makes me sad ... I have to build a video purely around a thumbnail and title to even stand a chance. Instead of complex interesting topics that can't be summed up in a picture or minimal characters.

Jimmy said that his videos are based around the thumbnail and title first. Yeah, it's always good to have that and I'm making a script around the title, but I always make the title first, then before I get to work, I question if I have a valid and interesting story that relates to my content.

I upload shorts very consistently (almost too much) but it feels like i'm barely doing anything. I hate the feeling of being lost and this video helped me. I think need to stop thinking it through and just upload more long forms, is it normal to stray away from my niche a bit for the sake of getting content out? thanks man. the others either just thinking about how to gather leads in their description links using some guide or trying to sell something using their affiliate links, you can easily tell that from seeing how they're giving value in exchange.. it's very rare to see someone giving value just to give value, of course one will have money from youtube but the other ways in plus it's correct that they pay but the biggest emotional connection with people is what really pays alot after, building it is just amazing. i will be glad to join your newsletter.

I came across an interesting thought while reading the book “Hey Whipple, Squeeze This” it’s mainly an advertising book, but contains some golden nuggets for content creation… Anyways the advice is this: Copy while you understand. Nobody fully understands how to do something in the beginning. Understanding takes time. But while you understand, copy what is popular and has success. If you ever do a deep dive on those that are considered geniuses in their fields, you’ll find that at some point they’ve copied those that came before them way before they found their own voice… Hopefully this can relieve some stress about getting started. Cheers! 🎉

It’s SO hard not to get caught up in everything with KZfaq advice channels. I panicked about all this KZfaq helping new channels thing. As I started mine over 7 years ago but didn’t have the time to put in. So that’s made me start a brand new channel last week and just moving my videos across along with my new videos. No idea if I’ve done the right thing 🤦🏻‍♂️ But I’ve always done my videos minimal edit as I think it’s helps to come across more genuine You. As opposed to trying to look like all the other KZfaqrs, Gary Vee said it best with “you are the niche”
