My dad had a similar rover, he owned it for 3 years, than sold it. When the car left our family, I was 2 years old, and the rover 820 was the first car for me to sit in the driver's seat. I'm 17 now, on my way to getting a driving license and buying my first car, and now I'm considering buying a similar 820!

Our family used to own one of these. It was a 1989 (pre-facelift, no grill on the bonnet), 4 cylinder, gasoline, Rover 800 Sterling. Too bad they all suffered from heavy rust all across the car body + finding spare parts for this car in Latvia was one hell of an adventure as it was prone to breaking a lot ):

Had the 827sli version of this. That engine was silky smooth and straight from the Honda. Lovely old bus she was u til the dreaded tin worm started to eat her alive.

@@RSBritain The T-Series engine was a Rover engine - it was the diesels that they used in these and LR Discovery etc that came from VM. These T-Series engines were also used to uprate the M-Series engines in MG Maestro and Montego Turbos especially by Motobuild Racing - you can see one of these excellent Motobuild T-16 MG Maestro Turbos in white here on KZfaq 400+ bhp - just enter MG Maestro Turbo in the search bar above.

Rovers were never common in the US. I've seen only a few of them over the years, and none were this new. Most of the ones I have seen dated back to the 80s. Great video!

We had those in the US. They were called sterling. From 1987 to 1991. 825's and 827's. Had a Honda V6 engine from the Acura Legend. Only knew one person who owned one. They really liked it.

After putting your foot down i can definitely see how smacking a curb took this turbo spitting beast off the road, shame, these RS versions are getting rarer by the day due to drivers knackering them, would be nice to see this cleaned up and back on the road!

@@michals547 no niestety nie będzie, mój tata w 2k13 miał Rovera 620 ale przez komornika musiał go niestety sprzedać. A po serii 600 już śladu prawie nie ma ja się rozglądam za 620 i mam nadzieję że znajdę bo jak sobie przypomnę jak to jeździło to łezka się w oku kręci

Love this so much! My dad used to have a Rover 45 and it was such an amazing car but sadly it made its way to the scrapyard after a broken engine that won't start anymore, i have a question do you have a Scania truck that you could do for another video 🚚
