My husband and I are Daddy and Dada to our 2yr old son (born via surrogacy) ❤️ I'm so sorry for your current struggles in conceiving again - I remember all too well the stresses and strains of the dreaded IVF clinic visits. As gay men, it was traumatic enough. I can only begin to imagine what it feels like for a woman enduring the hormonal ups and downs and other physical intrusions. I have everything crossed for u guys and have you in my thoughts as we enter 2024 ❤

Honestly, if you want easy video ideas, I would 100% watch an extremely long video of just the two of you talking about random things you're passionate about - it could be things like how Jessie loves color coding, Claudia's favorite and least favorite types of plants, both of their least favorite and favorite craft like things to do, talking about Rupert's many interests and accomplishments, sharing political opinions, legit anything. You two have just wonderful cadences to your voices and all of Jessica's videos make me feel so full of love and hope, even the ones where she's talking about the negatives of disability and stuff. I just feel like I could listen to y'all talk about anything and it would feel like being on facetime with good friends. You don't even have to edit it.

I watched The Happiest Season last night (lesbian Christmas movie) and while it isn't the best lesbian movie ever, there are so few and this is my favorite one. afterwards I felt a bit empty having watched it alone and having no other lesbian Christmas stories to move on to. However, I have your videos and it makes me so happy to just see a lesbian couple happy with a family just like I would like to be some day. Thank you for your tireless work and for making me feel less lonely during the holiday season :)

I really appreciated how what Jessie mentioned wanting for Christmas was donations to help the doctors deliver babies in Gaza. I feel like the only stuff I've seen on social media about Gaza has been from my friends and specific political accounts I follow, and I'm just proud of her for using her platform to potentially help save some lives.

I don't know why, but for some reason I find it so funny that you did Lucia on Christmas eve, because to me, Lucia is not really about Christmas, it's more its own thing? But celebrating on Christmas eve is very Swedish! "It's the 22nd and I haven't bought all of my Christmas presents yet" is such an adhd-mood. I'm always SO stressed in December, the past few years has been really bad, and it sucks because I really love the build-up to Christmas, and I haven't been able to enjoy it at all. I was supposed to be on a train to my sister and her family right now, but I'm home, on my sofa, with a fever and a sore throat, and I'm sad that I'll be alone on Christmas eve, but a part of me is relieved that I get to just exist without having anything that I HAVE to do.

@@stellangiosyeah Lucia's day is at 13th in Finland. My Swedish Class always made the Lucia celebration with 12yr olds, going from class to class to sing the Lucia song in Swedish and give some candy.

@@stellangiosyeah, mine too, I'm just bad at listening to it when I feel like I can't take a break.. I'm like "okay, I hear you, but there's nothing I can do about it right now??" And then I end up getting sick and can't leave the house for like an entire week.. 😅 I've had a great Christmas though, no stress, nothing I HAD to do, and no people demanding things from me. I didn't have any fomo, surprisingly enough. I guess that sometimes you just need a break, and Christmas is just a day after all. ☺️

"Working until she crashes"...I relate too much. 😂 I am a newbie to the chronic illness thing. And I did rock climbing before. So it's a freaking harsh change. I can hardly keep my place reasonably tidy and clean and getting groceries etc. And I gave up on timelines all together. Cos having to meet doctors appointments is taking my all... I feel you are doing incredible! I know how bad it feels when you do not meet your own expectations, but that just means, you have to re-plan and adjust your expectation. And this is not set in stone, I think. That can change from month to month.

I also said I wanted a baby sister when I was 2 and then she came a long and my 3 year old self was not happy about not having all the attention anymore. My cousin is an only child and he has grown up so much happier and healthier than I did. My point is kids say stuff all the time and a lot of the time they don't really mean it or understood it. Dont beat yourselves up over something that you have almost no control over. Whether Rupurt ends up having siblings or not, he's got two of the most kind and loving mums out there and I have no doubt he will grow up to be a wonderful human.

We also have 2.5yo and have been trying for our second for a year. I am now pregnant for the fourth time and being cared for by just the nicest and most respectful fertility specialist and spending almost $100 a week on hormones that may or may not help achieve the desired outcome. 2023 was awful and we're hoping 2024 brings health and happiness for all.

If it makes you feel any better about not remembering things after you've gone to sleep, Jessica, I do the same thing and I'm not on ANY medication. I've had full conversations with my partner (though usually not quite as coherent as the story with Rupert) and I simply don't remember them in the morning. He keeps a running list of the silly things I say while seemingly awake.

I've actually done a really good job of Christmas shopping early this year!! It helps that I only bought presents for my immediate family this year because my friends and I decided not to do gifts but I made both my Christmas wish list and ideas of what to buy people prior to December this year!! And I finished buying things and wrapping them last week when normally my ADHD self will be buying things up until the very last minute

We have underfloor heating and a real tree. But to be fair we only buy it on like the 20th and then try to remember to carefully water it so as to not make a mess. But yeah it sheds even then a bit too early. Then again the tree is up at least until the 31st sooo

When it comes to decorating me and my wife developed an arrangement. I decorate the outside of the house, including the conservatory (where the little tree I bought when my 1st wife moved out with her now wife goes) and the wife does the inside although I have a candle bridge that goes in same place regardless.

I'm Norwegian and we have Sankta Lucia here too. We bakes these bun thingies that have safron in them, and sing the Sankta Lucia song. In nursery we used to dress up and wear the white sheets and one girl got to be Sankta Lucia. But I don't think we used live candles, they were electric.

It's OK...I have this odd thing where people in my family always unalive on holidays. My maternal grandmother on the Winter Solstice, my Mother on Christmas Eve and my Paternal Grandmother who I was deeply influenced by, on New Year's Eve. It's an especially hard this time of year. Especially since my wife of only 15 years is presently also dying and me with my Fibromyalgia, degenerative arthritis, and now another possible new diagnosis. Not trying to be maudlin. Just trying to tell Claudia, I understand what she means.
