Starting The Downtown | Cities: Skylines Rochester New York

In the 4th episode of Cities: Skylines Rochester we are taking on the Genesee river and a portion of the West Downtown riverfront. In this detail heavy episode, I will be covering builds like the Court Street Dam, First Federal Plaza, The Blue Cross Arena, and much more! I'll also be covering the really interesting history of the Genesee river. As always, stick around for the end of the video to see the off camera work and some final cinematic shots.

My goal for these projects plan is finish the cities in their present form so that I can them it as a basis to improve traffic, improve walk-ability, increase transit options and opportunities, and complete highway removal/covering projects.

I'm from Rochester, this is great. Only thing I'll add,with the court street Dam, is usually only 1 (at most 2) of the dam sections are open at once.

I used to love going down into the subway. I always thought it would make a great walking plaza. The graffiti down there is cool as hell too.

The only time I remember seeing a builder tackle a dam like this was Fresh Popcorn in his Alaska project.

Thanks for putting in the time to add the "Piss Tunnel" as it's affectionately known here, under the inner loop. Though you'll have to come back to this in about 5 years as the rest of the inner loop, piss tunnel included, are being torn down.

Funny, i hear it called “The Pee Tunnel” almost always and “Piss Tunnel” very seldom. I live in the city, so wondered if maybe you live in the suburbs?

Also from Rochester. Would love to see you tackle another Rochester landmark, the Dinosaur BBQ which is on the Broad Street Bridge, located in a old train station built in the 1900's.

Your accuracy and attention to strict detail is AMAZING. BUT! I will be blown off the planet if your detail goes down to the height restrictions on bridges downtown and within the city. As a truck driver I feel if it’s going to be accurate, it had better include driver’s irritation/frustration of going out of our way to avoid a certain bridge lol

saturn building, annubis, mercury watching over us, the (almost) twin black and white pillars, the bridge sun symblism. many more things I am forgetting, but it's quite the sight to behold seeing these everyday temples being represented in a video game :) keep up the good work

Any shot you can do a tutorial on node controller? You're highway on/off ramps are the smoothest I've seen and I can't quite figure it out.

Thank you! That is a feature included with the prop anarchy mod by Quistar - steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2696146766 Once you have the prop anarchy mod, you can use the mod Move-it and select most props, trees, and decals to scale them using the “.” and “,” hotkeys

Because of the limits of the game, I’m sticking to smaller cities for now. I would love to possibly take on a larger city like Philly if there was a sequel :)
