So many apertures open to the jet wash can cause water getting into the engine???????.

I was half expecting it turning into a diesel runaway video. How long would it take to burn 50 litres of oil Ben? And what sorta mess would of been left in your living room... I mean garage. 😂
@pilotboatrestoration17703 жыл бұрын
😂 There’s no Turbos fitted so unlikely to run on unless the valve stem seals where completely shot maybe, yeah 50 litres would make some smoke 😂 id have to destroy the carbon monoxide detector

Volvo TD100 is my favorite i got 5 off em 😂😂 3 TD100A 1 THD100B and a TD100G

Cool what are they in? They sound awesome, I can’t wait to get them restored
@broyttube2 жыл бұрын
@@pilotboatrestoration1770 Well 2 of them have been in Brøyt Faceshovels i have an Brøyt X41 1984 mod that originaly had the TD100G in it and i must say the sound in the Gs are the coolest ones🤩 but that engine got overheated and scored due to old bearings in the waterpump so then i bougth overhaulig kit for the engine and started overhauling it but then i just saw how much work and time and money it took so it sat it aside so then i bougth 2 engines one form a Volvo F10 TD100A and 1 from a old Volvo buss THD100B both where part engines cuz the plan was too make 1 out off em but then i deiceded too buy another engine i knew of that had been in a Brøyt X50 TD100A 1980 mod so i picked up all the 3 engines at the same time and im now making the X50 engine ready too put it in the X41 but then i also got a deal that was too good too let go so i bougth another TD100A 😂😂😂 that i havent picked up yet so im pretty addicted to TD100 Engines 😂😂😂😂

Those are MD100A’s as no turbo !
@pilotboatrestoration17705 ай бұрын
They have Turbo’s, I just took them off to run them up. A lot has happened in the last couple of years, so I haven’t had a chance to get back to this as I now have nowhere to work on them. But hopefully in time I’ll be back back at it

@@pilotboatrestoration1770 Ah ! That explains it !,,, We were based in the North East of Scotland 🏴 and were Volvo Penta agents from mid 70s through to end of 90s . We supplied and overhauled ( complete rebuilds ) from MD 40 s right up to 162 s . Fantastic engines with excellent reliability . Happy Days
@pilotboatrestoration17705 ай бұрын
@@dfluke3698 wow very good, there would have been a demand for that kind of work up there. I live beside Edinburgh now, it took us over a year to find a house! huge demand down here for housing and very expensive, although its starting to quiet down a little now. Hopefully if I can get access to the back garden and build a workshop I can get back to the warden engines 😊

@@pilotboatrestoration1770 So how did you get involved with Volvo Penta ? I live in Coldstream .I worked a lot on the pilot boats in Orkney .

"Every tool"? Don't have an oil pump, so you can avoid the ladder oil filling method. 😉

😂 yes actually I have an oil pump but pouring is faster, maybe there’s a better product
@aquious953 Жыл бұрын
@@pilotboatrestoration1770 nice! Yah, 10-40 is slow to pump. Need a larger pump for that stuff. 🍻
