Same story here - a VW passat B4 sedan was sitting in a barn waiting to be rescued for 4,5 years. He's happily sitting out of my home right now renewed in most hardware, while a paintjob is scheduled.

Да он неубиваемый,8 лет простоять и не сгнить так еще и едет,мотор крутится,салон не настолько засран насколько мог бы быть. В который раз убеждаюсь,что существуют мастера,которые такое дело мастерски оживляют и такие авто,которые хрен сломаешь. Эх,люблю ВАГ,что старый,что новый

Старый ВАГ очень живучий, пусть даже и в более благоприятном климате, чем в Москве/СПб. Новый ВАГ и рядом с ним не стоял - Пассаты Б7 уже вовсю ржавеют, хотя модель отнюдь не старая...

I'm not surprised this video is only 15 minutes long. Those 35i Passats are basically indestructible. The EA827 engines are legendary for their longevity. Actually I'm now driving my 4th 35i and I love it to bits...

Mono-injection not bad engines for daily drive. My 92 Audi B4 with mono-injection rides fine with LPG

Next time test out some of the electrical would be nice to see if the sunroof and wipers etc still works and cleaning of engine bay to 😃

Those 1.8 engines were not common in Canada. We got mostly 2.0 L versions. The 1.8 was known for the throttle body mounting to fail causing poor running. That is why your throttle body is moving around so much. These Passats are pretty much worthless here now, but were decent cars. Most are gone...

2.0T came after the 1.8. The 2.0T is not a very good engine, mainly the timing issues it faces.

@@chrisromanczuk1468 I believe you are confusing this 1.8 for the 20 valve 1.8t, this engine is an 8-valve na 1.8 liter If im not mistaken basically just a smaller displacement aba with throttle body injection

mine is 1996 b4..1.8l still in good shape. some chips here and there , no rust so far 170.000 km engine and gear is good.. 🙂 back brakes need a service soon. great car for travel and transport.

Mad respect for what you do. I think it’s sad these old cars get scrapped and thrown away when they could easily be made to run safely for many years to come. New cars are useless after a few years, when the electrics start to fail, while these old analogue gems just don’t die 🤧 Keep it up 👍

Had a 1994 B4 too 2.0 GL automatic saloon in Windsor Blue Metallic Pearl, looked purple in some lights. Very well equipped for the time and had every optional extra, It was a great car.

Old cars are the best. If you let the cars from Nowadays sit for 8 to 10 years this would be impossible. Old cars had rust problems yes but the machines didn’t die

То кал шо называли до последнего времени отечественными запчастями совсем нет желания покупать. Эти уроды в 2022 году кузовные элементы делают даже не из плохой оцинковки а из черняги. Только отлов и кастрация спасут эту страну

I think if you treated the surface rust and gave it a proper wash, polish and wax, and serviced it (oil, filter, air filter, plugs, fuel filter etc) then it would go ok. Mind you, the exhaust needs changing and as for the brakes and electrics.....youngtimers should always be saved!

Best thing about this type of Passat is the huge fuel tank. You can brim 100 liters there so easy to achieve even 2000 kilometres of range. Of course depends on what engine it has

У этой заразы-старых ваговских 1.8 типа RP-ресурс похоже вообще не ограничен. У соседа был такой-он на нем наездил чуть не 800 тыс, причем с заменой дешманского масла раз в 17-20 тысяч, поменял кольца и дальше ездил.

I should offer you to start my old saab. it doesnt accept the key so immobilizer never comes off... would be a challenge xD But gj, keep up the videos! :)

Como es eso ? Lleva parado en ese lugar 3 Años pero no se prendió el motor desde hace 8 Años.... como se come eso ? Si lleva el auto en ese lugar desde hace 3 años.... hace 3 años se debió de haber prendido el motor... o sino como habrá llegado ahí el auto.. por arte de magia ?
