This is the third of three surgery videos taken at the same time, with two beam splitters, on a Zeiss Microscope. They are pretty much in sync - what happens to the patient is shown side-by-side in the videos. In terms of video quality, what do you prefer - what's shown on the left, or the right? ....and why?

Hi friend. Witch adapter are you using for each camera? I have a Backbone ribcage for gopro and it works fine. But it is not too easy to grab one of this...

The adapter is manufactured in China for the Zeiss microscope. Adapters for many microscopes are likely to be available in the near future from Aurolab, in India. The adapter couples to the Zeiss microscope, and has a c-mount adapter at the end which screws into the c-mount ring on the RigCage GoPro. The Sony camera was already mounted on the Zeiss microscope. I believe it, with all the controls, is available from Sony.

@@MikeMyers00 Got it. Actually I was wondering if was there a alternative for Backbone Ribcage (easier access). I'm trying to work on a adapter for smartphone recording as a cheaper and easier solution. Like this one: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fb2Ui8pivcqwlI0.html

@@rafaelarantes2387 The camera part, smart phone, camera, whatever, is easy. The difficult part was the adapter itself. The only reason I used the Ribcage is because it was all set up with a c-mount. You can buy other cameras with a c-mount and use them, and if you're designing your own, you can buy 4K cameras that come with auto-focus electronics, which is essential for the best quality. If all you want is a mobile phone, we did that with an old Karbonn Android One phone, attaching it to the eyepiece. The phone sells for around $80, but is now obsolete. If you already have an adapter, perhaps with the c-mount, there's any number of cameras that can be attached. I'll have more videos posted, once I get back to India next month.

@@MikeMyers00 I have a gopro with Ribcage and it works beautifully too with any c mount adapter. In fact I'm an enthusiast of video recording. I've been using a HD industrial camera for a long time and got a gopro a few months ago. But recording with my Galaxy S9 plus is something I'd like to explore more by now... I'll send you some videos os mine as soon as I go back to the OR. I have an slide that I use for academic purposes that compares (similarly as your video) 4 different recording methods, that is very interesting too.
