I think that scene represents him feeling a degree of AFFECTION and CARING for humanity. You would not expect the T800 from the first movie to be gentle with a baby. Babies symbolize the future.

It was probably the first time T-800 saw an infant. It saw little children before but not an infant, at least not so close, I presume. The idea of starting that small should be totally alien to it. It must be amazed when it first understood these were the same species.

It just occurred to me that the "are we learning yet" line comes from the previous delete scene where they open the T-800's head up and switch him from "read only" mode to learning computer mode.

There were a ton of set-ups that ended up deleted. Set-ups which led right into a lot of excellently written payoffs. They weren't necessary, but it isn't as though they added all THAT many minutes to the runtime. Once I (recently) saw the unedited version, it made me wish that's how it was shown in the 90's when we saw it on the silver screen.

terminator is doing the driving,remember,when they fled from asylum,he turned the lights and sirens off on that cop car to be less visible and using his built-in "Image Enhancers" as the HUD was dubbing it

T2 had the incredible effects and non-stop badass action. But T1 introduced the brilliant story, and its sci-fi horror element is second to none. The more I get older, the more I realize the first Terminator laid the groundwork for the incredible sequel to follow.

8:08 I've seen this movie about a MILLION times, and yet now that I actually know a bit about firearms, this is the very first time I've noticed Sarah Connor pull back the charging handle on that CAR-15 and then inspect the upper and lower receivers by releasing the rear takedown pin. Such great little attention to detail.

I watched this movie like 100 times as a kid back when Hollywood video was a store before Redbox closed it and the blockbuster near by. Amazing how brilliant and beautiful and relevant this movie was; just to watch the emergence of AI these days.

Some stories are just that and don’t need anything more added. No matter who directed or acted the story was over after T2, there could be no successful sequel. Even T2 itself was kinda T1 on a bigger budget, but the way the two played off each other was perfect.

The way John "teaches" the Terminator about the car keys being on the sun visor. Does anybody actually do that? I have NEVER left my car keys there, I rarely leave them in the car at all, unless I am just closing/opening a gate or something. Never if I am leaving the car for any meaningful time.

@@minhajnizam5090Exactly! The only way to do that is to either leave the car unlocked, or have two sets of keys so you can lock one set inside with the others, which is pointless. I live in a small town in rural Wales, and have sometimes left my car unlocked in the next street (nearest parking), once even with the window open! (accidently of course) but I would never leave the keys in it...

That was a common trick on farms or rural communities. The door was unlocked and guys kept their keys in the visor. Yep, there WAS once a time, long ago when folks weren't being car jacked or had their cars stolen all the damned time. The operative word is "WAS". Society has changed so much since then. And My grandparents remember a time when people didn't lock their front doors.

they are still "dressed" in meat and to keep the fasade i believe it was programmed to maintain the outer layers intact-if you would seize to blink eventually you would lose your eyes,not just your sight

T1 and T2 were absolutely the greatest movies ever made, too bad James Cameron and Tim Miller totally ruined the franchise with Dark Fate. Dark Fate was a complete abortion from the very beginning of the movie, killing off Edward Furlong/John Conner totally destroyed the movie and it just got worse from there.

Dark Fate was the final nail in the coffin for the Terminator franchise. Terminator 3 should have never been made. Terminator Salvation actually has a good starting point for the future war and could have separate itself into its own trilogy. Terminator Genesys was supposed to be the final nail in the coffin but Dark Fate told them to hold its beer. We don't need another Terminator Reboot, we need a trilogy about the future war. These dumbazz producers just don't get it!
