So special to have all your grandma's stitching stuff. I have old books my mom has handed down to me that I'm sure I'll never use but they are just fun to have. I've done the exact same thing you have with the floss storage - designated bins for dmc and then a bin for random floss from kits and stuff and I just use those colors when I'm doing my own small designs or for stitch people portraits. My Wips are growing so I need a better method for when I have to use the same color across projects. Maybe that's where floss drops come in. Safe travels and happy new year!

@@Lemonadestitching many similar styles. A few I recognized, but I hadn’t bought them. I used to do some bigger Dimensions projects, and some smalls. It would take me a long time to do them back then. I didn’t even know about DMC or fabric types. Just bought kits and started stitching. Lol self taught. It’s so great now to have our cross stitch community. I have learned so much, and stitched so much. Thank you

Nothing wrong with bobbins! They stand the test of time, for sure. My mom gave me her friends floss stash all in flossaway bags and 2 of the storage boxes that hold flossaway bags. I have so much floss now!

I really enjoyed this Video It is so much fun to get stash from other people especially from your Grandma - I can so relate to getting pieces of Fabric from my one Aunt and several boxes of Old DMC from another stitcher. I have all my Grandma’s sewing stuff. I love that your Grandma has passed on her stuff to you! I look at thrift stores for fabric too. I usually use it to experiment with color dyeing.

What a fun video!! I love my boxes of bobbins too! One thing you might do with the “mystery” floss is make custom cording. Helen D. on FlossTube has a good tutorial on how to make cording. You can use it to finish ornaments, smalls, pillows, flat folds etc. It is a good way to use up floss that you don’t want to stitch with. Keep making videos, yours are fun to watch and you have a very soothing voice 🤭

I was going to make the same suggestion! Great use for the random colors! Cording is fun to make and use, check out the "Twisted Stitcher" , Vonna, she has some awesome finishing tutorials and another great cording tutorial
