Every patch, stasis titan pays for shatterdive's sins. Behemoth was always supposed to be the "shatter" class, but they can't do that because shatterdive will be good again

Ever since Zavala learned stasis that shit sucks.

Subclass is even worse in pve too. There's a hidden 10 sec cooldown for making "too many crystals".... 6 crystals btw, not even enough to get a full melee charge back Manstrual pretty much got obliterated and took it personally

Cryoclasm was perfect. It was the best way to shatter crystals and you got a bit of mobility. It is still too hard to shatter your own crystals without it.

Hoarfrost was nuked by the Frost Armor change. You used to get resist just by standing behind your barricade. It would be huge if standing there passively gave frost armor stacks, even if the barricade crystals were boken just like how the rally buff itself still stays without crystal.

Cryoclasm is literally the best part of movement with Behemoth Titan without needing to use Dunemarchers and they nerfed it...

I used behemoth titan soley for the movement.... I guess Bungie wants titans to burger walk.

the cryoclasm dev notes frame the change as a bufff???? it is the kind of dev note that makes it seem like they don't even understand how their game, or any game, plays.

Tectonic has a cooldown, whenever you shat the 6th crystal, it will get a 10s cooldown, in 10s no shard spawns from any source of crystal. you need to hold your hand at the 5th crystal and wait for 4-5s to continue the loop. In pve the shards help other melee builds a lot, but you must keep your eyes on the cooldown mechanic.

Also issue I’ve had with cryoclasm forever: why does shatterdive get damage resistance against enemy stasis shatter, but cryoclasm just kills you if you slide through an enemy glacier nade

Been screaming this since i read the patch notes - I main stasis titan and I now can comfortably say this is the worst titan subclass to play as

It’s so annoying the extendo slide only works if you start your sprint when cryo is off cooldown. If it refreshes while you’re still sprinting you don’t get the long slide but it uses the cooldown

fun fact: Helm of Saint 14 is actually worse now due to the overshield being 45 instead of 65 which also applied to the edge of action bubble making its only synergy worse

My most used subclass in both PvE and PvP, reduced to this. Bungie literally does not know their own game - how did they even approve the cryoclasm change

I’d rather they revert the changes, but if they absolutely want to keep it as is, they need to fix the dead slide issue (currently you need to activate a new sprint AFTER the cooldown ends to get the cryo slide) and maybe reduce the cooldown by 1s

Crazy how a 0.5% usage rate subclass in PVP gets messed up with nerfs yet one class continues to dominate PVP and make up over 40% usage rate every week in trials for years and years. Goes to show you how biased Bungie is in their decision making.

Until they make frost armor decay 2 stacks at a time, it’s just woven mail but terrible. It takes forever to build to max stacks and you have to use rime to make it so you can even get maximum effect

That cryoclasm nerf bums me out man. Its one thing if its like an actual nerf, but this just feels like an accidental nerf rather than whatever it was supposed to be. I would run cryoclasm with diamond lance, a stasis smg with peacekeepers and a slideshot shotgun. Id freeze with diamond lance, shatter with cryo, and shotgun anyone else nearby. If my melee was ready id use it to get out and wait till i get another lance. Sliding through iceberg grenades with a slideshot slug shotgun and cryoclasm is fun to ambush people on points. Fighting lion also goes good with peacekeepers and glacier grenades since in the time it takes to swap to FL and shatter the crystals, the smg would be reloaded. Tbh idk how much of my build is ruined by the cryoclasm changes but still thats bogus.

iirc, Icefall Mantle is a 100 HP overshield. It’s very significant, and you instantly get movement back when the shield breaks. My friend runs it with Wicked Implement and turns the Slow effect into a kill chain perk.

One thing about the Cryoclasm stuff you showed off. You were running into a bug that Bungie introduced that causes it to randomly not provide the extended slide if you were sprinting during the cooldown. It basically only works like a third of the time. It's really frustrating. I don't personally dislike the idea of the cooldown, but I want to actually have it function properly so I can play with it as it's intended to see how I feel. I can't form a good faith opinion about it when it's so buggy right now.

at 3:40 I'm watching you juke and slide around and it looks the exact same as a regular slide, definitely not what I remember cryoclasm being.

btw ! collective action does not activate on certain stasis shards (stasis final blows have a chance to spawn a stasis shard)

I main behemoth and the class is just kinda bad now. Most sucess Ive had is using the melee energy fragment with tectonic and cryo and just abusing how good the melee is but the changes to cryoclasm make me sad

As a titan main I found a lot of success switching to warlock this season 👍👍

Air trigger effects every gun you have equipped btw so your sniper is gonna be harder to hit heads with while you’re using that smg

Titan main since D1 Y1 here, never thought I'd let this class go but it died for me as soon as they nerfed synthoceps. It's really sad seeing all the bias that warlock gets and how many abilities they've taken off of titan and put onto warlock.

After playing around with prismatic and stasis on various classes, it really feels like a lot of the stasis changes were either made with prismatic in mind, or were very low-budget fixes that were assigned to devs who had some downtime when they weren't working on final shape/echoes. I really just wish they would rework the harvest aspects at this point though, I feel like behemoth is useless without them as its almost impossible to generate any meaningful amount of shards or frost armor without them. Just bake harvest into the subclass already like how arc gets amplified.

As a behemoth main prismatic just clears for me now as i enjoy the knockout diamond lance shiver strike combo

Man it sucks cause I used to run behemoth with peacekeepers just for the cryoclasm slide

the only way I found for stasis titan is just building as much crystals as possible to shatter to get shards and max out your frost armor and thats about it, use cryoclasm just for making crystals and frost armor and then chain it with your stasis wall grenade and with max stacks of frost armor you get 20% DR in PVP and 45% in PVE, so the idea is just get max stacks of frost armor and activate icefall mantle to boost your survivability, however this is greatly held back due to the fact that stasis shards have a freaking 10 second cooldown making it not fun to wait it out just to make shards.

As a Behemoth main, I just want them to fix the Cryo bug.

I have an idea, make the extended slide part require double tapping the crouch button as on console, most people have barricade set to hold to cast. And the shatter part be a cooldown.

My argument is incidental but I believe that titans lack the nuance and variety of the other classes, which is especially apparent in behemoth titan. The other classes are replete with a sweet of interesting and more complex fragments, aspects, and exotics and Titans must reconcile with gameplay that entirely comprises of and relies on either the barricade or the melee. I understand class identity but titans could be more and they should be more and now I feel they have been forgotten. Not to undermine my earlier argument but bring back twilight garrison and titan skating in its original form 😢

yeah i knew from the TWID alone that the changes would do the exact opposite of what they wanted; little did we know it would also launch in a bugged state where you dont even get the long slide OFF cooldown BRING BACK CRYOCLASM

The best way to understand Titan balance changes is that after 10 years, Bungie doesn't understand their own class. Once you understand that, everything makes sense.

i also think changing the overshield to resist is a step backwards in terms of information intake by both myself and as an opponent. When i have an overshield i have a visual cue as to how much more "survivability" the guardian in question has. Maybe not as an exact amount but with the knowledge of how much hp a full blue glowy bar provides, any amount of glowy blue is an indication of potentially how much. But now its all baked into "resist" which just means i am harder to kill by an invisible amount. Shot by a wire rifle in PvE and my OS goes away by half, I know i can tank another. Now its just .. less, but unless i was staring at my hp idk how much. and seeing my real health bar go down at all triggers fight or flight regardless And in PvP, does that enemy behemoth have DR right now ? welll is it x1, x2, maybe x5? and i know how many bullets at base to down them but with an arbitrary percentage change that i need to math on the fly.. after the fight has initiated.. yea no thanks

Been using the hoarfrost engine with fonts and the new 720 vex rifle. Absolutely destroys with .67 hp all the time. Definitely tough to invest so much into a heavily nerfed build with the shard creation cooldown.

Cryoclasm always shatters the crystals if that helps. Even on cooldown

Almost all of last season I ran Howl and Cryo with glacier nades for chrystal crowd control and howl shutdowns with great neutral mobility where I can pick up the slack with my weapons. I spent a good amount of time in trials as Stasis titan this week and the cryo "nerf" feels unintentional. With my way of playing the class I still feel like I have an answer to every situation but knowing it's the least used class and sub combo yet it caught a nerf just feels horrible.

Cadmus ridge helm makes diamond lances on prismatic with atleast the void subclass. Run diamond lance with drengrs and it will be a GM monster

I play the barry nade exotic just to mess around.

Maybe I’m too pve-brained, but I feel like hoarfrost + howl of the storm + the grenade recharge boost on crystal break fragment would be good?

Cam I’m unsure if you know, but using a weapon with air trigger the 2nd half of the perk affects all your weapons, not only the weapon with the perk. If cam does know this then I hope this helps someone who might not know.

Thank you for sharing, as a Behemoth main with 1,000s of kills on my Cryostesia/ BXR setup I am in mourning and haven’t touched PvP this season. I won’t be coming back until the nerfs are fixed as I feel so many other classes are the problem in PvP. All the self healing, invis, strand mobility in the game and a .08% class of dedicated players is the problem??? How.

Idk I still find behemoth pretty good but yeah they need to revert that cryoclasm change, besides that behemoth with cryo in rumble is still pretty broken at least

Release slide with a timer is just better I’m sorry it feels so different lol what’s broken is the stuff your buddy is trying to mention or the tid bit you aren’t focused on like the second slide into skating. Slide right before was basically on the same timer lol i don’t need to choose my slide on the fly, it’s on a 4 sec cd lol I’ll just cancel it when I want. The issue is its new momentum breaking feature removing ice skating and buggy will I won’t I long slide if I’ve ran for like 3 seconds is the real issue.

For PvP I heavily disagree, the changes to cryo have felt like such a buff imo. Being able to instantly backslide against people aping or very quickly with no windup being able to get out of a bad position with cryo slide is huge. Most of the times where you wouldn't get the slide now you already wouldn't get it in the past because you hadn't sprinted long enough. The changes make the roll out off spawn sooo quick too when you pair cyro with a dunes/pks and do the crypt slide into a titan skate. On endless I was consistently getting to middle before literally everyone else. The changes were a bit jarring at first, I used to run a diamond lance cryo build for fragment slots especially last season with the artifact mod making your glacier grenade shoot out the stasis shards since you could use the nade very offensively with the fragment that makes your primary ammo weapons do more damage to shards. Whisper of Rime getting changed to no longer be passive DR while next to your nade made me swap to tectonic harvest with rime, torment, shards, conduction. The frost armour changes makes shards a lot better from what I've noticed. I basically always have my grenade off of cool down at the beginning of rounds when I need it to establish map presence and prevent people from pushing where I don't want them to. Prismatic is can do a lot of what stasis titan can buy it doesn't have cryo and has no easy way to shatter your shards/give you as quick cooldowns in 3v3 modes. Slowly eating away at your nade after its been up for a while and getting frost armour and your ability regen being increased is amazing. frost armour x5 is a 10% Dr in PvP and that makes you taking gunfights all the more advantageous. Using glacier nades to get a freak off angle for a snipe/free primary kill because they didn't expect you there then shooting your nade and getting over half of it back because of whisper of shards is massive. I run triple hundreds for recov resil and discipline with tier five super and after the changes to super cooldowns where the time your super takes no longer gives you different amounts of super based off of damage makes it so I'm getting my super before most people in my game even before wells/bubbles. I've been running Dynamo and Distribution for 2.5% extra super per barricade popped within 15metres of an enemy. Behemoth titan super is one of the best in the game and using your first heavy attack to generate frost armour for yourself while you're in super makes you that extra bit tanky that can be very nice and help you survive. Your light attack one shots all other supers in this game and has insane mobility. As a whole it feels like behemoth titan got a big buff for PvP with final shape and I just can't understand why people think it got nerfed. I don't use elemental charge for armour charge because I don't feel that you get enough value out of it in 3's. Collective action is a great perk that I have wanted to experiment with more on behemoth but I don't like perks that are going to make me play more aggressive than I otherwise would because I'm scared of wasting it. I primarily use shiver strike as a movement/repositioning tool since it's very janky and sometimes the double melee will fail or if there's two of them and you didn't realise it you'll melee the other person and die because of it. I used to be a solar warlock main but behemoth titan honestly feels like a better subclass all around that's more mobile. Minus current speakers helmet bs. Behemoth titan has one of the highest skill caps in the game yet also has a very low skill floor. It being the least used titan subclass for trials this week is just because of how niche it is and the fact that it takes time to get good with it. It's feels very balanced in the current state and it getting buffed more will lead to it just being too powerful. I haven't had issues with my cryo slide not giving me the long slide when it's supposed to do I think that probably has something to do with spamming it.

Is it just me or are titan the only class that always has things nerfed specifically for pvp but end up making them useless in PvE. The only thing in recent memory that that’s happen to other than titans is hunter with those tripmine gauntlets.

Titan in general is suffering right now. Way weaker than all the other prismatic classes, BoW should have been the strand aspect for sure. Hopefully they’ll add it, I doubt it’d be too good especially since the nerf. Titans just don’t add enough to team composition with their prismatic kit.

In pve, it's not looking too much better. In pve, you're pretty much forced into using tectonic harvest because there is no other way to effectively build up frost armor. The only sources of frost armor in the game so far are: The harvest aspects Whisper of Fractures Ballidorse Wrathweavers (warlock only) Renweal grasps (hunter only) So, for Beheomth, you ONLY have harvest and fractures, and fractures are absolutely dog shit. It gives 1 stack of frost armor for shattering a frozen target with a melee, but in order for it to work, you have to actually hit and shatter the target. You can't punch a crystal and shatter a crystal and get the stack. It has to be your punch coming into contact with the target, and your lr punch is the reason it shattered. And dont get me started on dimond Lance, isn't it a *bit* odd that dimond Lance? The only stasis option prismatic provides got a shit ton of buffs... weird, huh? It's almost like the developers finally sat down and played with a fraction of behemoth's kit and realized how shitally it was taped together (not even good tape, plastic see-through tape). Then they fucked over Cryoclasm to be all weird. "Fun fact" you can't really use Howl and Cryoclasm together unless you use cryoclasm, wait 3 seconds, then within a second of time use howl, THEN use cryoclasm. Not evem mentioning the fact that you lose out on any survivability now that whisper of chains DR is gone. Imo, cryoclasm should just be a double press, once to slide, then again to activate cryoclasm. That way, you have full control of it. Unlike previously whete you had to run around in place like an idiot, Yeah, i get this version is worse, but the older version was still awkward and didn't feel good to use. Howl just sucks ass without rending straight up. That shit blows. Why hasn't it been reworked to be more like a consecration, making a second input destroy the crystals. it's not like the damage is more than anything near consecration numbers. God, this whole subclass and behemoth in particular needs an ACTUAL rework, not just one to fit it into prismatic.

Honestly I have felt Bungie is out of touch for awhile just my 2 cents subclass 3.0 was nerfs overall to at least to multiple different ways I played the game (warlock) and they continued with sweeping changes that noone asked for across multiple sublasses and now it's creeping into stasis and it's just sad

Behemoth main, I just play hunter or warlock at this point. Bungie does not play titan, I don't even know why I keep getting mad at them because I should know better, but it's honestly depressing. Not gonna yap about how icarus dash is superior under any light you put it under, but if they had any milligram of functioning grey matter they would either make it a completely different thing (directional slide, but groundbound, and binded to a key like, you know, fucking icarus). They keep failing me and yet I keep buying and using their product. I'm probably just mad at myself for being unable to quit this game, I might be an addict and I don't even play that much. If anybody has some kind of advice I might actually need help. It's a vicious circle I can't seem to be able to quit.
