My sister Chrissy was a massive State Champs fan. She travelled all over to shows, she's on the back of the "This is where you need to be" hoodie, and she appears in this video at 2:00 holding her phone, singing and dancing, wearing one of our dad's shirts and unintentionally showing off clevage. She passed away from cancer on 12/31/18 and you have no idea how much it means to me that she's forever on the internet in her element. We played this video for her hospice nurses and at her memorial because this is how she should be remembered.

That's awesome. I'm 30 and very into music, if I died tomorrow I dont think anybody could name a single band that I'm into. You knowing she was a huge state champs fan is really awesome.

@@ericbaum3397 and everyone else: it's been a year or so since I posted this and every time I check back to share this video there are more likes. It's sweet and makes my mom tear up. And as for you Eric, she was legitimately my best friend. I started taking her to shows with me when she was 15. We spent a lot of time driving to shows out of state together, up in the front or in the middle of the pit together. You name a band, we saw them at hole in the wall venues with sometimes less than 10 people in the audience. Her friends and I took her to see State Champs for her last birthday, 3 months before she passed, and the boys were so happy to see her after disappearing from shows for nearly 2 years. During hospice we received so many messages and videos from the bands she befriended and hyped up. It is a travesty she is gone, but she's always here in this video having the time of her life in the prime of her health.

known this band for quite a few years now, they are from my home town (albany). Super chill dudes, skated with derek a few times, guy can shred. They have come a long way from where they were. I remember playing a show with them in wakefield mass at a dinky church basement with the story so far and it was one of the raddest shows ive ever been too. State Champs are going places, proud to see them represent my home town.

So what’s crazy is I didn’t know about these guys until about 2018. Basically I was finally getting my life back together at the time being clean for 3 years from drugs. My friend convinced me to go to Warped Tour because it was the last one. That’s when I saw them. I love this music but for some reason I never knew about them. So now I’m 8 years clean and I still love State Champs

I know you guys probably wont see this or if you do you wont believe me but I still think this is pretty cool. My dad actually taught bass to one of the members, Tyler Szalkowski. He studied with my dad for a few years and eventually after stopping lessons went on to play guitar. I had heard my dad talking about this band because of Tyler but I'd never listened to them. I really missed out. They are amazing.

Esmeralda Yat I'm quite confused. You wrote your reply implying that I missed some. Are there more EPs I am unaware of? If so, please list them. I didn't mention their 2010 EP because all the songs on that EP are also on Apparently, I'm Nothing. I though mentioning it would be a bit redundant. I also didn't bother to mention The Acoustic Things EP because currently, the band has only released the song, Leave You In The Dark, and the rest of the EP won't be released until October 7. I pre-ordered it.

Esmeralda Yat Hey, I'm Michael Cliffords dad and I just listened to this cause I respect my son's taste in music and he respects mine. I actually liked the song and wanted to read up a bit more about it. Then I read all these nasty comments and happen to see yours insinuating that because I came and listened to it I'm a sheep. I think you need to accept the fact that people are going to listen and like or dislike music based on their own taste. How they arrive at that decision is free choice. I like the song, but am I a sheep too? You're not doing your band much of a service by attacking newcomers for listening to something suggested by a respected musician with 3.3 million personal twitter followers and whose band is nominated for several MTV VMA's this weekend! Seems like a pretty sad introduction to your fan club :(

Damn. 2014. Thank you, Crazy Taxi: City Rush. This is the thing that brought me to this song, and I have been following State Champs ever since. Elevated was always my favorite, especially for at that time, it was a mirror of my own life at the time. I was only in sixth grade. I liked this girl who liked me back but then kinda 180’d on me. I’m an incoming senior in high school right now, and man, time flies. I was there for the release of Around The World And Back, and for Living Proof, and now for Unplugged. I’ve already memorized Crying Out Loud, and now Crying Out Loud is the mirror to my current life.

I've never listened to 5 seconds of summer, never will. But I bet the reason why they hold up their phones is because they know they're gonna die out withing a couple months, and on the other hand, state champs is just starting to rise, and they will stay popular for years
