Tennessee and other southern states have laws against hiding faces during events such as marches - it's why the KKK had to quit hiding their faces with their hoods during their marches. Why did the police not confront them for violating that state law?

- Their 'march' went through tourist areas of downtown, where people were more likely to already be taking pictures. - The local newspaper (The Tennessean) reported that Nashville police had stated they had some advance warning and were monitoring the situation, then later stated that the event seemed to have 'not materialized. Same newspaper sent a reporter out to cover the event but couldn't find anybody. - A democrat in the state legislature, who has a history of slinging accusations of racism at the majority of the state legislature and the state, just happened to encounter the group and post video of it to the internet. Another democrat in the state legislature told the news media who this group was and seemed to be doing a better job of keeping track of what was going on with this group than the Nashville police. - Rather than attempting to use the local news media for free publicity, this group seemed to be playing hide and seek with the news media and local police, suddenly showing up in one tourist spot long enough for tourists to get pictures and video of them, then moving on at a good pace toward the next tourist spot. - Even though Tennessee has a state law prohibiting having faces covered during political marches - a law passed to put a stop to the KKK hiding their faces with hoods during their marches through towns - this group concealed their identities with hoods, and the democrat legislators complaining about this march seem to be ignoring that illegal aspect of the march. If it walks like a duck...

The Nashville police department apparently told the local newspaper (The Tennessean) that they had heard there was going to be an event of some kind and had been monitoring the situation, but that the event had apparently failed to materialize. Kinda leaves questions about the department, when a member of the state legislature posts video of the group online, along with various other people using their phones to get video of the group at the Bicentennial mall, the capitol building, 1st avenue, and Broad, but the department tells the local newspaper "yeah, we got word that the Nazis were coming and were prepared for them, but they must have gotten scared of us and hightailed it back to wherever they came from without showing their faces in Nashville." Maybe the Nashville mayor and the city council should have the Nashville police chief explain this matter to them in person? Tennessee passed a state law against keeping faces covered during political marches, to put an end to the KKK hiding their faces with their hoods during their marches, so there was definitely something the Nashville police could have done about this group wearing hoods as they marched across downtown Nashville.
