That's where you are mistaken. Two hive fleets annihilated and 2 tendrils of a third destroyed. No progress at all in getting deep into the galaxy.

@@TheDeathwing5 I've seen some evidence that even tyrannids can't permanently get rid of orks. The end of the universe could just be the tyrannids and the one civilization that just won't die

@amiablereaper at that point.. wouldn't ork become Korks, and if only the Korks are left the Tyranids would have limited biomass to produce more fleets (though at that point they would have massive fleets) so it would just be a matter of time before Korks win?

The nids felt fear after the hive mind was killed (temporarily) by Khornate Bloodthirster Kabanda They also felt hate towards the blood angels for hurting them Also Malcador's staff was able to harm the hive mind as well

It's worth noting that one advantage the imperium had over the hive fleets was speed. (warp travel being much faster than what the nids can do) But in Imperium Nihilis where the astronomicon can barely be seen, this advantage is nearly completely lost.

The tyrannies have done the exact same thing to a dozen other galaxies. All the 40k galaxy is to the hive is just a slightly tougher nut to crack than the ones they devoured before.

Sounds like the Nids got a whole lot smarter. Like, specifically targetting Sanctum, implies that they gained enough knowledge of Imperial actions and locations that they are trying to cut off the command structure for the sector. I wonder if Leviathan has a higher concentration of synaptic creatures in its forces, for a more intellligent, cohesive assault?

That theory has been pretty much dead for a good while. Back in the Pharos novel, GW confirmed that the Tyranids were _attracted_ to the Milky Way galaxy rather than running into it.

Technically, he already does and doesn't mind it anymore. He literally gave Dante command of all Blood Angel successor chapters and even he technically commands a Legion of Ultramarine successor chapters. The Chapters were meant to act as rapid response forces after the HH but at this point he wouldn't mind given how fucked the Galaxy is now
