BTW- They have another video out, a completely different song known by "Shanti," performed at Glastonbury, with a ProShot video. This one shows how they continue to experiment and surprise. Also, NOT attending Babymetal in an ARENA when given the opportunity, no matter what else is playing in town, is the biggest missed opportunity I can imagine. I'll be watching them at The Filmore in Detroit, 2900 capacity, digging the show, but WISHING that I had the resources to travel to California and see the SPECTICAL that is Babymetal in an arena. Our girls have finally found their way home. That's the best way I can describe it. Last year it was like they went on a trip and lost their way. Not that is was all bad, but last year it felt like Babymetal wasn't really Babymetal. Too many changes, too many deviations from the Babymetal norm, it was like they were losing track of who they were. Thank the Fox God that it was only a phase and now they've found their way back to where they should be.

They are rotating three "Avengers" as the supporting dancer. The 3rd person in this video is Kano Fujihara, 14 years old and current Sakura Gakuin president. So 3 Sakura Gakuin presidents in this performance. She has done two of the recent 6 concerts. Riho Sayashi formerly of Morning Musume has been in the other 4 concerts. She was at Glastonbury and Brixton. She and Su were in school together at Actor's School Hiroshima. Kana and Riho have not been miked. Speculation is the 3rd Avatar will be Saya, but she won't be available until July. In my opinion, Babymetal is going to be Su and Moa for a while. There are 3 more new songs, no official names yet.

The new girl is from Morning Musume which is apparently the biggest selling all girl J pop group and she doesn't even get a microphone so I guess that's how big Baby Metal is now and she has to share that spot with 2 other girls. So far all these new songs they have been playing on tour have been really awesome!! So I hope we get more vidoes of them. Even recently at their last show for Moa's 20th birthday they played a song where Moa was playing guitar in the opening part. It has more of a The One feel to it. Anyway I think you guys should do the song "Shanti" (not official title…yet) live at Glastonbury UK. I have seen other reactions to that and it seems ok to do. I actually liked the "dark side" they were doing. We got some good songs out of it too that will be on the album like Distortion and Kagerou (Tattoo). One thing we can agree on is that they aren't stuck in a box musically. They will try and experiment with anything and it tends to work and it most cases work well. I agree that we will see a mix from what they have done before with some new stuff I'm very excited to see where this goes and what they do next!

As far as BabyMetal vs Band-Maid they are two totally different types of bands. Band Maid could never do a Road of Resistance Live in Japan type show and Baby Metal could never do a number like Gion-Cho. Su Metal is unmatched though. As one vocal coach reviewer said, she was born to sing on a stage.

What strikes me here with this is just how f****** good Su-Metal has gotten now. She is so far above what you normally see of most Idols. In the tradition of let's say AKB48. That is a significant accomplishment when you consider how far Babymetal has come. The last female Japanese Idol to artist of any significance in Japan. I remember here was probably "Namie Amuro." She was with a group called the "Super Monkeys." They really never went anywhere but Namie went on to become. Probably the most recognized, accomplished female artist in Japanese history. Su-Metal however now isn't far away from pushing that glass ceiling either. To see her reach this level at this point in her career. Speaks to a very promising future for BabyMetal. Caught Band-Maid at the Echoplex on the 30th of September and Babymetal with Korn and Tool in my backyard here in Sack o'tomatoes. (Discovery Park is a mile away.) While l still prefer Band-Maid by a wide margin l have to say my opinion of Babymetal has risen considerably. I was wrong to judge them for being a record industry construction which they, in fact, are. The reason l was wrong is because we don't often get to choose how opportunity comes to us. We do get to choose what we do with it. Babymetal is good entertainment. I will no longer fault them for simply taking advantage of any opportunity for success and they are worth seeing.

I thought I was the only one who noticed the similarity to Skindred. Also the verse riff of one of their new songs "Tattoo" sounds familiar to the begining of Skindred's "Trouble".

yup ... looks like this year they use their old formula which is " Serious and Fun " starting with this song. last year is when BM got more heavy on the serious side than the fun side and this song is the mark that their " Brand New Hype Train " is moving forward.

After losing Mikio Fujioka & Yui. I really was wondering if they would make a comeback. But I guess my worries were unfounded. I really should have known better after living in Japan for a few years. One thing I have learned about the Japanese. Is that they are incredibly resilient. Not to mention extremly driven & dedicated to the metal gods. That surprised me a bit really. Taia, Existrance, Band-Maid, Aldious, Danger Gang, Dazzle Vision, Scandal. All great bands I would have never expected to see there. Like most I have to admit. I wasn't quite sure what to make of Babymetal at first. But now there is no question that this group is f****** legit. Shanti Shanti Shanti which is another single from their upcoming Metal Galaxy album. Which I think is due to release sometime in October. Shows really just how far & diverse Babymetal has become. Not to mention Su-Metal's vocal's in both these cases here are outstanding!! Lip Roll is really difficult to do. Su-Metal repertoire is clearly increasing!! "Looks like the energy is back" - the only people who may have lost the energy was that portion of the fanbase who got tied up in conspiracy theories, were confused by or misunderstood what was going last year or thought costumes and hair styles were the most important things. Su, Moa, the Kami Band and so on never lost the energy. They continued put on great shows ... with lots of smiles and fun - and energy. Why on Earth would you not go to see Babymetal?! Why even think "either Babymetal or Band Maid" (unless the dates clash or you can only afford tickets for one show), they are two completely different things? You don't have to go to the big arena show at the Forum if that is your issue (but what a show to turn up the chance of seeing that will be), there are 19 other dates all around the US in smaller venues if you want to be up close and personal to the stage. Is San Francisco too far away too?

Side note, there is a new song out. Can't remember the name but it starts out with a guitar solo by Moa!.

Just an FYI: The audio for the official video is from the studio, overlaid on concert footage. Also, Metal Galaxy's song list is not known yet. Now, about the third girl(s); the new girl(s). There are three of them. We know who two of them are: Riho Sayashi and Kano Fujihara. The third third girl has not been revealed yet. Apparently the concerts are auditions to become the new permanent member. Think 'Making the Band' only with more production value and a better overall product. This is - as are most things surrounding BABYMETAL - pure conjecture at this point, but with the concert's introductory narration it seems to make sense. “And to support SU-METAL and MOAMETAL Three brave avengers were summoned by the FOX GOD. Today, one out of these three CHOSEN DANCERS will be selected. But who will be summoned is something only the FOX GOD knows.” Finally, the rapper's name is Fukking Hero (ฟักกลิ้งฮีโร่), or F. Hero if you prefer. It doesn't mean what you think it does, though I can't find a definitive translation for it. The only translation I have found is 'Rolling Hatch Hero' and that makes no real sense. He is a very popular Thai rapper. Award winning even. It's a good song (that grew on me, I wasn't a huge fan at first), and I'm glad that you see the same things we do: The positivity and spirit has returned. The long, torturous year of 2018 is finally over.

Their first album, while all over the place, was full of passion and heart. Metal Resistance, though, felt kind of hollow to me. Like, the technicality was there but the passion was not. But this feels like everything I wanted them to evolve into. Mature, but still fun.

Can't blame you for choosing to see Band Maid. They played a 2 hour set last time in London compared to a 1 hour Babymetal set. Both were awesome but seeing a great band in a small venue is always the best option compared to an arena. Obviously going to both is the best idea :)

Dare I say: "Making BabyMetal great again." :-) I think you may of seen the Glastonbury version where the rap part is not there and for me, it is a better version. You sum it up very well when you say the heart is back in BabyMetal. After the elation and then disappointment of Saya, appearing in the last two concerts of last year and then not staying as a permanent replacement of Yui, there was a lot of trepidation of what would happen this year. Although no one could ever replace Yui, there are talented girls who have shown they can step in for her.

They reshot this video in 2021 which is better then this one. Su-metal rolls her R's in the new version which changes the whole sound of the song. I seen them in Sept. of 2019 as well. So so much better listening to them live in on video.
