Thank you! We're very excited for the new firehouse to be completed. OZ Architecture designed the station. With 7 bedrooms the station can accommodate the 4-person Engine, 2-person Medic Unit, and a single resource. The 3rd bay provides future options such as a single resource (Battalion, Med, Safety), a cross-staffed brush truck or a reserve apparatus.

Not yet, but once the Station tours are complete we'll feature headquarters and the training facilities.

That is a reserve Battalion/Safety F-150 that was previously assigned to Battalion 4. The next Fire Medics will be released this weekend. We'll feature a Station Saturday of Headquarters once all the firehouses have been done.

Medic 37 became Medic 33 after the EMS Division determined that statistically that station is a better location for a Medic unit. ARM37 was taken out of service because it's response model was not meeting the needs of our community. It has been replaced with a Public Health program and the vehicle is now called Public Health 10. Med 2 is housed at Station 32.

I wouldn't be able to sleep tonight not knowing if they were going to scrape and rebuild on the same site, so I did some research. The City of Centennial granted them a variance on 12/14/2022 to encroach a 25' setback by 3' on the NW corner of the site located at 2702 E Dry Creek Road, the current address. The engineering firm that applied for the variance is Strategic Site Designs, LLC. It's a pretty good location for them, and I don't see why they would temporarily relocate to 37 if they were building anew somewhere else.

@@SouthMetroFireRescuePIO Gotcha! You might not get another shot so maybe now's the time to feature Station 37 in a "Station Saturday" episode? Run it on April 1st as an April Fool's joke that actually isn't! Seriously, though, that's one old barn (1963, I believe?) and it would be interesting to see what upgrades were made for it to serve as a contemporary fire station, even if only temporarily. Unfortunately, plenty of small departments across the county work out of stations as old or older than this by necessity; I'm sure many of them would find it useful some of the little things South Metro did to eke out a couple more years from an old barn they mostly haven't been using for several years. One last thing (and I don't know why this just popped into my head): Will Station 37 remain numbered as such, with 15s responding out of it, or will the house temporarily be numbered "Station 15" while that crew is using it? I know it doesn't matter one way or the other but the question is in my head now and won't go away until it's asked. [EDIT: One more, "one more thing": I know it's a recent addition but hopefully you and the architects find a way to incorporate the truss over the engine bay into the new station. Sure, it's the newest feature of the current house but it would help tie the new house to the old. Plus, it looks good!]
